 I am trying to retrieve the predecessor version (A.1 -> B.1) of a part. Current solution using VersionControlHelper.service.predecessorOf(part) only returns the previous iteration not version. Is there an api or a specific way to retrieve the previous part object?

Hello I am trying to automate the creation of projects in Windchill but the command: si createproject does not work. with the commandsi createproject --name=value --hostname=value --port=value --user=value --password=value  I get the error message Set-Item : No item parameter was found that matches the argument "--hostname=value". "im createproject" works though. Does anyone know what could be the problem?Thanks.

Windchill PDMLink 12.0.2.6 with 2 replica servers. The master server and replica servers all currently reside in the subnets we want to limit wcadmin to if that makes any difference.   We want to limit wcadmin from only logging in if they are coming from certain subnets. I opened a case with PTC and their response was: "Yes, I totally agreed that this falls under “Windchill Configuration” as we are attempting to limit the logins to Windchill.But we currently don’t have any documentation on this configuration. Workflow participant group selection based on soft attribute value in Windchill PDMLink?

The engineering manager is asking if it is possible to report on who access a file in Windchill. I can give him check-in reporting on who checked in what file, but I think he is looking for the user id and file name that anyone may have just accessed or pulled up for display in CreoView. Is this possible by enabling some setting that is off by default or will it require special code? We are currently in Windchill 11.1 M020 CPS20. If Windchill 12 has some advanced reporting capabilities that would be good to know.  

I am trying to delete the latest iteration of the top level assembly, but I receive a build error when I try. The dialog pops up with hundreds of parts, even when I select "required" or "none" for dependencies. Several of these parts are locked up in libraries. and haven't changed in years. Any ideas?

As Windchill has many license groups used while user creation such as, Attribute Administrator, Type Administrator, PTC Author license, Business Report Author and so on as shown in image. Can I use all the license groups from the below list to use Windchill Rest APIs using Swagger UI or through Windchill Rest services documentation? Which are the valid License groups to use Rest APIs? Can all the license group access the customization tab from Windchill Web-application (Browse -> Customization)? 

I use Windchill 10.2. I'm an untrained Windchill admin for my company. For the first time we have a .prt and .drw that need to be revised to 21, our system seems to have the maximum numerical value set to 20. See the message from Event Manager below. Either new revision value "21" is not valid, or it is not greater than the existing revision value "20". Specify an appropriate value for the new revision. Where in the Windchill Utilities do I find the place to change the max value?

Hello everyone, I would like to create a Procurement BOM using the BOM transformer tool. My goal is to create a single component list (flat BOM) from my EBOM and also being able to catch all the revision changes, part quantities variation and new parts added or parts removed.Here is the best way to do it that I have found:- In BOM transformer, select EBOM to assy level and choose New downstream branch, Do not duplicate, manufacturing BOM, Costing- Copy/paste or drag and drop parts at the level needed (ex: welded assy level without subcomponent, single parts, non standard assemblies etc)- Check in the procurement BOMTo see changes:- In BOM transformer, verify downstream & upstream status to see if there is any changes on the revisions- Click on detect discrepancies button to verify quantities and parts added or removed- Click on propagate changes to downstream to apply modifications on the procurement BOM.This procedure works but I am not sure it is optimal.For example, drag and dro

This document serves as input for procurement to reserve materials at suppliers.  This document is now filled manually. We are looking for best practices how to support this process with Windchill.
