Is there a way to request all the information of every part that as a classification ?  as for now, I know of a way to get basic information of every part that as a particular classification, but there is a lot of missing information that I need.  Thanks in advance !

I need to move my users to a new OU in AD, Our current Windchill installation uses AD to authenticate the users using an LDAP adapter. Using Info*Engine I have changed the Search base value in the current adapter to reflect the new OU in AD and ran the ​ant -f webAppConfig.xml regenWebAppConf command from the Windchill shell, however when I move my users to the new OU they cannot login to Windchill. I must be missing some steps to get this working, any help would be appreciated    

Hello, masters of the dark arts of Creo and Windchill.   I'm building a product configurator with Options & Variants and I would like to generate a semi accurate visualization of the variant inside Windchill without opening it in Creo. I wan't to be able to inspect the final assembly model of the variant in Creo View before actually generating the variant and creating all the articles and deliverables belonging to it.   I have modeled all the modules, parts and subassemblies and defined options and choices in Windchill. Next step would be creating a positioning system for the modules but the requirement to generate a visualization in Windchill is making it a bit difficult. I can't just use interfaces and constrains and reference pairings in the model because Windchill doesn't know how to use them in the visualization.   I think I could edit the each modules' default coordinate systems so that they correspond to the default coordinate system of the final assembly when

If a CAD document driven wtPart structure has an owner link to a Design view and then using BOM Transformer (aka MAPSB) and a new downstream view is created (Manufacturing) should we expect the downstream wtParts to have a Contributing image link to the CAD? At the moment they have no association to the CAD.And when revising the CAD Document and collecting the wtParts in Design view would we expect to also collect and revise the downstream wtPart (manufacturing) ? 

Windchill 11.1 M020CPS20, Creo 7.0.7.0 I have created a new context that uses an existing OIR for documents and EPMdocuments. From creo, I can check in object to a sub-folder in the context. When I open that folder in Windchill and select the New document icon, I get the error "You do not have create permission for this object". I have checked the ACL for Documents and EPMdocuments and they both have create allowed.

Hi teamIn QueryBuilder you can join the document table to the Subfolder table, which gives you the 'leaf' folder where the document resides. You can have Subfolder Name in the 'Select or Constrain' tab. Good.You can join from the Subfolder to its parent Subfolder, and so on for deep folder trees (performance seems to suffer due to this).I don't always have the same depth of folders, so is there a way to recurse all the way up to the top folder? I hesitate to say 'iterate' because Windchill uses that term w.r.t. versioning, and I am not talking of that. Maybe this is relevant: you can join the Document table to the Folder table via the 'Iterated Folder Member Link' but there are no Folder fields which can be used as criteria. How/What/Where can this be useful?thanksRick

I have drawings for parts that are automatically filled since they are taken from the model parameters. Some examples are PARTNAME, PARTNUMBER, REVISIONLEVEL, etc. I have a lot of drawings that I need to open to review those parameters. Is it possible to get the parameters directly from windchill instead of having to open each drawing? Thank you

Hello, I am currently querying users by email. I am doing it this way - so target is WTUserquerySpec.appendWhere(new SearchCondition(WTUser.class, WTUser.EMAIL, SearchCondition.EQUAL, email,false), new int[]{0}); But I also found this way:OrganizationServicesHelper.manager.queryPrincipals(...) Do both solutions go through the entire user list of Windchill since the second one is for principals and not for users?And what is the general difference between WTUser and WTPrincipal or are they the same? BR

Hi,another weird issue after upgrading to PDMLink 11.1 M020. Users moved from Creo 6 to Creo 8.03 and the search tool is not visible in creo parametric.  is it some preferences disabled in creo/windchill?  They have registered windchill server and set a primary server as help center said:"Search is added to the navigator automatically after you set the primary server in the Server Management dialog box."   

As part of validating a Change Notice before approval, we want to make sure the Resulting objects have not already been part of another change.  We can check states on the docs for most cases, but sometimes we need to take the resulting documents and look at any other CNs that are also trying to validate.  I already have the code that takes a CN and returns the list of Resulting documents, parts, etc.  What code takes a document and returns the list of CNs containing it?

Configured 3 different subtypes of part in Windchill. For every part, objects will be created in all 3 subtypes. These objects are connected using Partusagelinks. Like Part1<->Part2<->Part3. How do I return all the attributes of all the three objects using SQL? Every subtype has its own set of attributes.

Hi experts, We have custom webjcets for creation of WTpart and WTPartUsageLink.These were able to use with no problem in Windchill 9.1.But the webject for WTPartUsageLink only when it updates multiple records(ex: a process is a update of one parent and creations of multiple WTPartUsageLink) in one transaction, no longer returns the process after upgrade from 9.1 to 11.1.The webject for WTpart (this process is always one record update in one transaction), and also webject for WTPartUsageLink when it updates one record in one transaction have no problem under Windchill 11.1.We have thoroughly investigated this webject's logic and it seems fine. We also checked property files(wt.properties and db.properties), but could not determine whether they were affected or not.Are there any other points we should investigate to help us resolve this issue?

Hello everybody,I am using Windchill WGM 11.2.1.3 with Creo Element Direct Modeling 20.3.2.0I am experiencing differences from how I use Windchill with Creo Parametric 7.07.0.I'll explain :- if in creo parametric I open any file and try to modify it, the pop-up immediately appears to submit it to check-out (rightly so).- in creo modeling by opening a file instead, I can modify it and afterwards at check-in the window to put it in check-out appears (so I risk modifying files without knowing that I have deliberately put them in check out).So I tried to insert the auto lock preference.When I add the files in ws they are all correctly locked and therefore if I open one of these objects and modify it, the warning appears.The problem is that if I edit the files and check in, the object doesn't lock automatically. I should always do it manually wasting time. Is it possible to have the same behavior as Creo Parametric or to have everything I check-in be blocked ??? Even when I update older ver

Whenever I used to call "mail.addPart("ext.gt.test.MyResources", labels.getString("Message"), null, "text/html");" this function, I am not able to recieve any email. But without mail.addPart function call, I am able to receive email. Could you send the format of the Resource Bundle file that you had registered and the location of that file?   Or do you find any other way to add content to the mail?

Hi team,I'm currently trying to implement an improvement to our Windchill system and utilise the pdf quickview option available. This is intended to simplify things for our purchasing department. I have activated the plug in and have run into a problem. It appears to only be working for released drawings and parts that have been checked in using our worker station, this generates files in pdf format so no issue there it works as intended. However over the last decade or so various engineers have taken the easy route and checked drawings in using a 'custom check in' method which uses there on computer, this has generated files in .plt format and as such isn't giving the pdf quickview icon. Doe's anyone know of any quick fixes for this? Is it possible to make the quickview work for .plt files as well? The only other option I can see is republishing all .plt drawing files, there are thousands in question - any mass republish tricks around or will this need to be done a single dr
