We have a tremendous number of files that are obsolete or otherwise useless to us, and there doesn't seem to be any way to delete them in WindChill. We get all sorts of error messages, most of them stating that some sort of relationship exists. We know those relationships have been broken (family tables) yet we cannot delete anything. Most recently we got the following message:wt.vc.VersionControlException cannot be cast to wt.epm.confilict.EPMNonOverrideableConflictExceptionThis message makes absolutely no sense to anybody here and is obviously code for some sort of error that we cannot figure out. Is there ANYBODY out there who knows how to delete useless files?

Hello,I am looking to see if there is a way in a CAD BOM comparison, to get the CAD objects to show as merged ues rather than individually. I must be missing something super simple here, but how does one discard the changes to an object in a local workspace without losing the changes in the server side workspace?Steps to reproduceCheck out objectOpen in Creo, make changes, save.Upload changes.Make more changes in Creo, save.Need to discard changes in step 4 and return to condition of object in step 3."Update" doesn't work - "Nothing is Out Of Date in Workspace"Frames (or events) aren't an option (in this particular case).Current workaround is to launch Creo on a different PC, export the object from the same workspace (with only the server side changes), physically transport it to the other PC, and re-open, overwriting the last local workspace version.Is there a better way?

Just upgraded to Windchill 12.1 and I'm noticing an odd issue when additional files are downloaded from the representation.  For some reason Windchill (or Apache) is dynamically replacing every space character with a plus sign (+).  The additional files themselves do not include the plus sign in their names, and this can be seen by downloading the entire representation.  I dug through the preferences thinking maybe this is something new, but I'm not finding anything.  Please let me know if you have seen this before or have any idea what might be causing it.  Thanks!

Is it possible for users to default to a custom navigation filter? We have defined a set of navigation filters using the manage filters option. Windchill 11.2 allows users to switch to a particular filter using the manage filters dropdown option. But this doesn't work when users navigate to another part structure. System automatically changes users filter selection back to 'System Default'. Instead we want to keep the filter selection permanently for users. We can't modify System Default and that affects every user in the system. Because groups of users like Designers and Mfg Engineers want to have different filter criteria/filters.

Is t possible to remove the Design view version from here?because we can see it on the predecessor

Hi All,We are just starting to create a development platform for Windchill on a Windows 2003 64 bit VM. We would like to run IIS and have single signon with Windows Integrated Authentication (if that makes sense). The Advanced configuration guide outlines steps for basic auth with integrated authentication disabled. Are there configurations with integrated authentication enabled? In a subtype attribute layout we have an attribute 'xyz' which is getting displayed twice. At the parent type level the attribute is only defined once but in the subtype the same attribute is appearing twice. In the parent layout if we try to remove the attribute form the attribute display layout then one of this gets removed in the subtype as well but one still remains. Has anyone faced similar kind of issue??

Hi All, Possibly more of a business process question rather than a technical one, but hopefully you can shed some light on this… I’m currently working on a task to allow certain users to view work in progress BOMs (WTParts), effectivity giving them a preview of unreleased data to allow certain activities such as preliminary BOM costing to take place. The problem, however, is that a work in progress data is in a constant state of flux, and is regularly incomplete (e.g., components may be missing because a user is in the middle of making changes). So on to my question…Do you allow anyone (beyond the authors that are modifying the BOM) to see unreleased BOM versions?If so, how do you ensure the data they are looking at is somewhat accurate/complete? A couple of ideas I have had on the latter question:Authors could create baselines at regular intervals to provide a snapshot of a point when the BOM was accurate/completeAuthors could record a date/time when the BOM was ac

I have created a custom UWGM service to update Use attribute (EPMMemberLink attribute) in workspace. The UWGM service updates link attribute in server workspace and I can see the new value in Windchill GUI (standalone browser), but it is not visible in Windchill Workgroup Manager GUI (embedded browser) even if I called refresh action or did refresh of Workgroup Manager page.If I change manually the link attribute value in Windchill GUI only one time, then everything works fine even if I do change value via the UWGM service and refresh structure in Workgroup Manager GUI.Is there any Java API to let Windchill Workgroup Manager know that there is a new link value need to be loaded from the server workspace into the local workspace?

Hi there,   I am currently designing a process involving MS Visio Drawings. I was heavily disappointed when I found out that even in 11.1 there is no support for MS Visio within the Desktop Integration of Windchill. Any Idea if this is on a current roadmap for a later release?   However, I am sure many of you use files which are not supported from within its native application by the Desktop Integration. MS Word for expamle works like a charme. As I am very new to Windchill, could you please tell me how you work with files like these? In my opinion it is a real pain to make changes to a file once it was uploaded to Windchill: 1) Find the WTdocument object (okay) 2) Check out the WT document object (okay) 3) go to the primary content info page (not okay) 4) download file attachment and open the local copy (not okay) 5) edit the file (okay) 6) upload the local copy again via "Edit" from the WTdocument Action menu (not okay) 7) Check in (okay) 😎 delete the local copy from your
