Anyone with some experience in the ProjectLink module have experience with Update not collecting everything?    We have a Product context with WTParts and WTDocuments that describe them. A WTPart is shared to a Project context while internal users continue working on it in the Product. Inevitably new WTDocuments are associated to the shared WTPart. The version is updated and all and when we go to update the project, the WTPart updates and the new document shows in the structure in the Project but it's not itself shared to the Project like we'd want it to. There's also no option to do additional collections during the update (manual or automatic) so unless we remove share of the WTPart and reshare manually we don't know of a way to just update and have Windchill collect and add the newly added associated documents.    Have any of you run into this before? Any suggestions on what to tweak to get it to share the new associated documents or at least suggest they be coll

Hi All,   I am trying to install Windchill 11.0 M030-CPS11 on Windows 10 machine. I am getting the attached error and the installation is then getting aborted.   I have seen a PTC Case where it was said to run the below command xconfmanager -s wt.db.maxBytesPerChar=3 -t codebase\wt.properties –p But even after the property value got changed the installation is getting aborted. The PSI Installer error is as below   Updating database schema... be patient. Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM warning: ignoring option MaxPermSize=128m; support was removed in 8.0 joining with std out thread std out join complete. joining with std error thread std err join complete. AddColumns -u -s process returned non-zero: 1 Installation is Aborting. The installation cannot continue.Aborting installation. Installation is Aborting. The installation cannot continue.Error during schema creation, while adding columns. See the logs for more information. 

When our users rename a EPMDocument, they don't always remember to collect the corresponding WTPart. Is there a setting that can force the system to collect both during a rename?

How to export project plan Gantt chart in Windchill ProjectLink

Is there a way to limit edit access of an attribute to a specific role?  We're considering adding a new attribute on our WTParts, but only certain authorized users should be able to modify this attribute. Is that possible?   The next best way I can think of to manage it would be to have a document subtype that only the authorized users could create and edit, and then they could link that to the WTPart. Is there another way to achieve this kind of data control?

Hello everyone,   I am new to the Windchill community and looking for a bidirectional integration of an ERP-system, which is unfortunately not SAP or Oracle. Additionally I would like to integrate a product configurator, if possible. I would much appreciate, if someone could answer some of the following questions:   1. As of my understanding ESI can only be used for SAP or Oracle integration and the ERP-connector is only unidirectional. Dou you have any tips for a bidirectional integration of smaller systems like the ERP-system by infor? 2. Can I connect other systems like product configurators as long as they can communicate with XML-format messages? 3. Can Windchill handle ERP-typical classification- or effectivity-labels to deal with parts, which are only valid for a given time period? 4. Hi,   I am looking to know if it is possible to get component data needed for "Prediction -  217Plus, FIDES, MIL-HDBK-217" in Risk&Reliability from component data in Windchill PLM? Up till now we have dedicated parts libraries in the tool but some basic component data could be synced with PLM data.  Is this possible or is the R&R tool standalone ?

I want to have the role in Set Up Participants to be empty but only allow for a certain group to be chosen from. I can get it to prepopulate with the group to control which group, but I don not want to make the users remove the group every time they do a new workflow. How do I do this?

Hi all,   I am trying to update parts IBA attribute values using LoadFromFile Framework. Otherwise seems to work but csvBeginCreateOrUpdateWTPart method (or how you call it) will reset End Item value to No. There is no <csvenditem> tag under csvBeginCreateOrUpdateWTPart.   How a) not to reset End Item value to No or b) update End Item value (parts current End item value is in Excel)?   Windchill version is 11.0.

Windchill pro's I need your help....     All of our fasteners are 'rubber band' parts that are unique to each job that we do. Now that we have switched to Windchill and WTParts, I am being asked to update the fasteners, that reside within in our new job template models, from the unique rubber band type fasteners to now use library parts. Our template models are heavily programed so I will need some way to still have the fasteners build themselves based on model parameters (bolt type, bolt material, bolt length, and so on).   What alternatives are there to family tables if I want to our models to programmatically select the correct fasteners from the library?    We already have the fastener information in excel files so I could pretty easily make family tables but from what I have read about them I get the feeling that there may be a better way. If I can't find a better way to do it, my fall back plan is to create family tables then use them in an "bolt" assembl

Hello to all,I am trying to insert a Bom table from WGM Windchill into Creo Elements Direct Modeling.From Wtpart Structure I generate the report and export to Creo Elements Direct Modeling (see photo 1).In Creo Elements Direct Modeling I see the table generated by Windchill (see photo 2)The word Quantity is written with a special character instead of à with an accent. It seems that in the Italian localization that character is not recognized.This means that the value of the quantity itself is not displayed in the table. (see photo 3).If, on the other hand, I do all the same process with WGM Windchill and Creo Elements Direct Modeling in English, everything works because the word Quantity has no accents and is recognized.What could I also do at the operating system level to make it work in Italian too?   Ty Matteo

Hello, We are using Windchill 12, Rest Service version 2.1. We see that the workflow domain provides Action for Completing a WorkItem and Reassigning a WorkFlow Item.  We are, however, looking for an  ODATA  -  API that will Initiate a workflow process.  Any suggestions?

Hi,  I am trying to configure another internal site's link into windchill's Quick Links. I modified all codes, but CORS error came. To fix that I referred below articles.  Article-1:  https://support.ptc.com/help/wnc/r12.0.0.0/en/index.html#page/Windchill_Help_Center/FileVaultConfigWCforCORS.html Article-2:  https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS318829   But the problem is, 1. I am not sure, where to add those lines referred in Article-1. 2. Even If I add somewhere in middle of the web.xml, windchill throws 404 error.   Can anyone guide me, where exactly I have to add the Article-1 lines in web.xml? 

Again and again we have the case that we want to load several models at once from WGM in CED, e.g. to compare these models with each other. Currently there is no possibility to do this in the WGM. Proposal for implementation: mark required models in WGM (see Image.png) Expand menu in: "File/Open in/Open in Creo Elements Direct Modeling" (see image.png) The models may be loaded one after the other within the loading process, but the user should start the loading process only once.

Hello,   I have two different views of BOM available for a part and the BOM is also available in my downstream system. I want to load the ESI History for the BOM so that the next publish will be a Change action instead of Add action. As part of WC 12 upgrade we are planning to migrate existing Cognos custom reports to Jasper Reports. In order to convert these custom Cognos reports, at-least to my knowledge we need to use Jasper Studio, and create respective templates to import back to Windchill. These are basic reports that fetch real time data from the Windchill, no business analytic is included.    Question: Do we need to use community or commercial edition of Jasper Studio?   I was not able to figure this out from the different articles or from help center.    If any one converted custom Congnos reports to Jasper reports and share their experience would be greatly appreciated.    FYI - community edition, does not have support from jasper.   

In PTC tool, the MTBF is calculated as follows  MTBF = (1/FIT)*100,000 But actual calculation is given below  MTBF = (1/FIT)*100,000,000. How do i change this calculation in tool.
