Actually, its a love/hate relationship, more hate. Well, they did it to me again. Upgrade changes things (flexible changes) but leaves you in a state where objects before the upgrade return in reports but nothing after. In this case, the addressedBy link was deprecated but the data was not moved. "You moved the cemetery, but you left the bodies, didn't you?" Yep. This means any report that had joined the two only sees pairs created before the upgrade (in my case 10.2 to 11.1). The new link is ChangeProcessLink but for some reason, I had to two step it to get results to show. I was able to get this join model to work but you need to use outer joins pointing toward the change request. This will return either links from AddressedBy or ChangeProcessLink in a single report. Between you, me and the poltergeist, I am shocked it worked.

we as use windchill for or solidworks files. Problem I ran into is have an assembly that uses toolbox hardware in it. How do I deal with that to get the assembly into windchill? thanks

I am looking to add some additional actions to a Configurable Links table, specifically I would like to add the submodel for export to give the user the ability to export the table to an excel spreadsheet. I've added the export submodel to the table in custom actionmodel and this does not work.   I opened up a support ticket for this issue and the answered that I received is listed below. Has anybody been able to find a way around this limitation?   I have set up server and install Configurable Links. I have tried to adding export actions (export to excel ,export to File etc) however it does not work. Also, tried with adding submodel but still that fails as configurable Table toolbar action is controlled by   “ConfigurableLinkTableToolbarActionCommandDelegate”. Article : CS237601 for reference.   This seems to limitation of this delegate class which will not allow submodel or actions governed by submodel;  however it may work for few other ootb or custom action

I have the need to create serial numbers and wondering what is the best practice for that. I have embedded a chart showing that I have a main machine product, then we have 2 different designed configurations for it. And then from there, we would have serial numbers.  At first we thought we would track in PDM, but as I learn more about MPM, that seems to be the tool to track what physically was built and sent out the door. Is this the right approach? 

I have parts saved in Windchill and I have a parameter that stores the customer's part number.  However, sometimes there are cases where the same part is used for many different Customers.   Is there a good way to associate a list of customers who use the part and the given part number that they have assigned our part?  There is something similar with Supplier Part Management.  Is this a good option?  Set up the customer as a supplier? After I do this is there any way to create a query of this data so that I could retrieve a list of customers and their corresponding part number for a single part?

Hello,   Is installing Windchill 11.2 supports Windows 10 os possible?

I have Windchill set to automatically create WTparts upon check-in of the CAD parts from a user workspace.  Our default version for new parts is A, but sometimes we want them in Windchill at 0. When that happens, we revise the part in the user workspace to version 0 and then do the check-in. However, the WTparts are being created at version A, not version 0 of the CAD parts. For version A parts this is fine. Is there a setting in Windchill that will create the WTparts at the same version as the CAD parts at initial check-in. I suppose if we added the extra step of doing an Associate before the revise, then we could get everything to version 0 first, but that is an extra step, prone to error that I am trying to avoid.   Creo 4 m080 Windchill 11.0 m 030 CPS16

Hi, I have bought licenses : 12 PTC Author, 10 PTC Contribute and 4 PTC View. However, on the Composer (Navigate) side, they are only : 10 PTC Author, 10 PTC Contribute and 10 PTC view      questions: 1. How can I synchronize Windchill with Composer (Navigate) to have a good number of licenses?   2. On the Composer side (Navigate) I cannot assign any license even though it indicates 10 as available.   3. Ok, this crap is driving me freakin crazy!I have users both in the US and in India that are receiving this error when trying to check in objects into the system. So of course having no clue as to what this meant other than it has the word java in it, I proceeded to let tech support try to help. They came back to me with the following change that they say needed to be made in Oracle:I had IT execute this in the system and it completed successfully, but yet the problem still remains....H....E....L....P!!!!!!!!

For a few workflows I've created methods to set an object's attribute (one for String, one for TimeStamps) which have worked great over the past few years. I have a new requirement to set an int's value. I created a new method and changed the input attribute to accept an int. When I call the method, i get an odd error telling me I've violated the limit constraint. I have an existing report template in our Production system that is linked to a report as well as several saved reports. I've developed a new version of it in our Development environment, and I'd like to load the updated report via QML and have everything downstream update accordingly. Is this possible? I would like to know whether it is possible to import workspace via external browser to windchill. Due to Covid-19 we are stuck working from home, All our employees have a Locked creo license in their laptop, Now we are working offline by downloading our windchill data. There is no dedicated system for each individual at the office to do remote access, but we have one common server. If it is possible to uplode CAD data vis external Browser then we'll export it from out Laptop and sent it to the Server which we'll take remote access to import it through external browser. I know there's a VPN option but currently setting it up is taking more resources so looking for any simple alternative
