Hello, the following "workspace columns" have no header labels (Creo 5).  I'm wondering if this is some setting or preference?  If not, will this be resolved at some point?  Metadata management is extremely costly and time consuming and this is one of the fundamental root causes.  The other fundamental root cause is the inability to edit attributes in one location (e.g. some attributes can only be changed/assigned after check-in and some only when checked out).  Thank you. Hi, For a current customer I am trying to implement a service that will record the Fault messages of the machine. I've set up an infotable property on the asset that would house the recorded faults. I've also set up a data table holding the fault code reference document that has a numerical code and string for each fault.   What I need to do, is when an Alert on the faulted PLC tag is triggered, to get the numerical code from a seperate PLC tag, reference that code in the data table, get the string equivalent, then add a row with all that information to my asset fault history infotable property.   I cannot get my javascript code to work, I'll paste below what I have currently, I am wondering now if it is easier to use data tables for both tables listed above or if this set up should work?   To clarify, I am using a configured Alert on the Faulted property (boolean) to trigger a subscription with the following code:   var PLCFaultCode = me.Current_Fault_Code; var que

We have just started using Windchill and uploading our legacy stuff to it. We also have a few soft types defined which we are identifying in the solidworks attributes using UPLOAD_SOFT_SOFT which have their own auto numbering sequence defined (with prefixes like MA for Mechanical Assembly so the number would be MAxxxxx).   The issue is that when using save to workspace the number does not get autogenerated and instead the file name is used as the part number even if the soft type is correctly set. Currently the workarounds we have available are: Create a part in the workspace with the type we want which generates a number automatically with the correct sequence. The external CAD file is renamed to that number and then saved to workspace to overwrite the generated part. OR rename the parts we want manually with sequence such as MA51xxx and then using that 51 as an additional manually set prefix for that product and then saving to workspace.   What we would like is based on t

The calculate method of the RuleAlgorithm interface is passed an array of the parameters, provided within the AttrValue tag of the OIR e.g. <Attr id="SomeAttribute"/>. While  RuleConfigurableTypeAttributes.properties can be configured, one is still typically limited as to what one can list there.I would think there would be some APIs (e.g. action bean) used by the form submission framework to call the RuleAlgorithm implementation that can also be called directly from the RuleAlgorithm implementation to access the form data. I know that some restrictions exist for naming of container in Windchill. Does it exist also some restriction in usable characters for number or name for EPMdocument WTPart or WTdocument? Is it also possible to forbid some extra characters in preferences or by setting a constraint in Windchill? Found today the case CS41839 which answers partially to my question and a table "Special Characters" in the help "Using Special Characters".

Hello. I am trying to create a Cognos bar chart with a series of document counts. I cant seem to get the chart made. Does the chart have to be made with related measures such as something from a cross tab or can it be made of independent data items? If it can be made, is it as simple as placing a data item with the total count in the y axis, and the individual types that need to be measured in the x axis? I have tried this previously to no avail, so any help would be highly appreciated,

We are trying to read multi-valued attributes in Windchill through the odata API. However, Windchill only seems to return one of the values and does not compile it into a list. Any ideas if this can be resolved? Many thanks

Hi Guys, I have created a custom app in thingworx navigate. It is working perfectly for administrator but the same custom app is not working for non-administrator user. When i click the custom app from non-administrator user it is showing the error: Reason: 404 - Entity Not Found. If anybody knows mean let me know.  

Does anyone know if WC11 has provided a simple way to build a Query Report / Search that only show the latest Version of an object?    I have been trying to create a report and got it close to what I need but is all latest revisions (e.g. A.2, B.5, 1.3, 2.5, 3.7) when I only want the latest released version (3.7).   I have heard in previous versions of WC there is a convoluted way to do this but am hoping there is a simple way to do this...as this is already functionality in a normal WC search.

Hi, We are trying to automate Creo operations from an auxiliary application (using the Creo Toolkit). When the files are in Windchill we are not able to change anything from this application. Opening local Creo files, everything is working as expected.   My question is if it is possible to always store local cache unencrypted? Like a setting on Windchill server. Basically storing normal Creo files (*.prt, *.asm) as local cache instead of encrypted.    We are running Windchill 11.0 and Creo 6.0.3.0

This blog entry discusses the Representation Purging Utility that I created. It was written as a jsp with an html front end page. The files are attached.As CAD Documents are iterated in Windchill, published representations accumulate in the history and most of those representations are no longer needed. If the OOTB publishing rules are used, every iteration will have multiple representations as shown below. This screenshot shows four representations for a single version of this CAD Document, and there are a total of ten versions in the history of this CAD Document. As you can imagine, the number of representations can grow quickly.The majority of the time, we only need one default, as-stored representation, so most of the representations can be safely deleted. Hi,   Anyone out there using Windchill 11.1 M020 Workgroup Manager (WGM) & Altium ECAD?   Since our upgrade to WC11.1, we are experiencing constant data loss with the WGM when working with Altium ECAD. The WGM likes to replace the modified and updated files in the workspace with old copies from the Commonspace periodically. We've seen it do this on WGM startup and as part of the ECAD Check In process. Its an incredibly frustrating situation because the WGM never lets you know when its doing this, it does the replacement  silently in the background. One minute you're working on the latest design files, the next time you open the files you've been restored to what you originally checked out from the Commonspace.     We have sent PTC three packages of video, data and logs for this issue and they have a tentative fix for us, but it will not be available until July. I'm not sure what's holding it up so long and that is why I'd like to know if there are

Hello,   I have implemented a logic where an IBA attribute of WTDocument will get updated at certain point in a change task workflow.   But for one object the IBA attribute is updated two times which is causing some issues in the upcoming activity nodes. For example: If the attribute name of a document is "Info" and the value I am trying to persist is "value", when the IBA updation logic is executed the value is coming as "value","value".   I can see two entry in the database in String Value table for the document. Can I create a STEP file of a part or assembly, with it checked in from common space only ?

Hi,   I am rehosting Windchill PDMLink along with Windchill Quality Solutions. Is there any way to rehost Windchill Quality Solutions ? As far as I know, I need to re-install the Windchill Quality Solutions and after that select the option of "restore the existing database". That will create the database instance and then do I need to manually import the .dmp file and then run the Conversion Wizard ? Please help me out here.   Regards, Akshay

Did anyone succeeded to deploy softtypes of configurable links?Our VAR setup configurable links (master, reference, describe) on our Windchill test environment. We are able to use them, including additional attributes on the link. But when I add additional softtypes to e.g. the master configurable link, I don't find the possibility to use it while creating a new link instance. I can't find an entry to define OIR's on configurable links, what confirms that the implementation is not quiet finished yet. So I was wondering if there are already succesful use cases for this technology.Thanks in advance,Hugo.Windchill 10.1 M040.

Our default units have mm for length (SI).  When I am creating WTPart attributes that are "real with length", and I enter 0.8mm for a value, it will display on the Details page for the WTPart as 800um (800 micrometers).  How can I get it to actually display as the value I entered - in millimeters?
