I am exploring various PTC products like thingworx, windchill,etc. I can found Evaluation version for thingworx but I havent found any thing similar for windchill. Please let me know if any Evaluation/trail version available for Windchill.

Hello, I have some troubles with publishing parts in windchill. I made a new workspace with new part and after check-in for all the time I'm getting status Job Failed. Hi all,   We are receiving the following exception when publishing with ESI: 2020-01-07 07:55:55,967 ERROR [SessionThread-6] com.ptc.windchill.esi.tgt.delegate.DefaultESITargetProcessor - Error while invoking ESIResponseGenerator.generateResponse:com.ptc.windchill.esi.rnd.ESIRendererException: (wt.part.partResource/170) wt.part.LineNumberUsageException:wt.part.LineNumberUsageException: At least one component of "Component - xxxx, Name, Organization, B.3 (Manufacturing)" does not have a line number.     Line numbers are filled and the Enforce Line Numbers preference is set to No.    Any ideas why this happens or any ideas on how to fix this?   Alex 

Hi, I want to configure a new vault on my windchill server. When I click Utilities -> File Server Administration-> Vault Configuration browser doesn't open a new window(site) but trying to download file Vault Configuration.jnlp. How can I change it should be open in a new window not as downloadable content? 

Hi all,I am new to Windchill and also to configuring Windchill to have multiple MS and BGMS. Hope someone sees this.  I'm in the middle of a production upgrade and because the production server is much larger than the test server, it decided it needed 7 method servers instead of one and so the upgrade manager is failing when it tries to start up Windchill since it has too many method servers.  What is the option to set the number of method servers starting using xconfmanager?

Would like to fully understand what are the pro and cons for Downstream View and Downstream Part. Does anybody us the mBOM productivly ? What methode do you use and why ?   Thank you very much Klaus

Hello,   IFX catalogs and fastener data is unable to download to the local users machine from windchill.  We are running windows 10.  I am the admin and all the .dat files uploaded to Windchill are from my computer.  I have not trouble downloading if I run CREO in administrator mode.  But other users only get as far as Windchill writing the ifx_catalog folder and ifx_fastener_data folders.  The files from windchill are not able to be written to the local computer.   Any tips on how to get this to work?

Using IE, Once Edit change task wizard opened, I am trying to close it using cancel button (Red color X button) at the top right corner of wizard. But a popup opened showing message "Denied" and I need to click 'OK' button on the popup then only wizard closed. It is not closing properly once clicked on X red colored button.   MethodServer logs showing:: "com.ptc.core.components.validators.CreateEditValidatorUtils wcadmin - DENIED - Form processing failed, but no feedback messages given"   I also called super.pre-process();   but still same issue.   Please help!!

Preparing my users for an upgrade from Windchill/PDMLink 9 to 10 and want some feedback on a best practice. As part of the upgrade, all workspaces MUST be deleted before I do the upgrade.What is the cleanest method for the users to remove their workspaces? I have asked them to do the 3 steps below. As I was thinking some more, is step 2 needed for a clean workspace delete? Will deleting the workspace only cause issues with marking the files as being removed from the workspace?1) Check-in or undo checkout all files2) Open each workspace and remove all files3) Delete the now empty workspace

Hi,  In our windchill server, We got some Classification that use a defined "Tolerance Attributes" using the "percentage" unit. This "percentage" unit is defined into "Qty of measure menu" as "override" =  % into all Measurement system. Seems good at first but when we set a part with attribute tolerance lets say to: 5 to get 5% tolerance. When the part is display after the creation the Tolerance attribute is display = 0.05 %   I look into the documentation but I was not able to find a default unit equal to the percentage sign(%) is like that % unit is not standard but I can't find where it could be define elsewhere.   How can I get the % sign for the attribute but got the displayed value not divide by 100.  Thank you. 

Hi   I am catching up with the changes from Windchill 10 to Windchill 11 and one thing I came across is that it seems that PSE is no longer available on Windchill 11. I have been told by IT that when moving to the web PTC removed PSE.  I have found this very strange. However, the bottom line is that I cannot find in the interface how to start it, so I had to believe them. This said, I have just read the help files that goes with our version of Windchill 11 and it mentions to launch PSE in order to create advanced configuration logic. So this would mean that PSE is still available.   I am confused though as if it is available, why I cannot launch it and if IT is right and it is no longer available, then how do we do advanced configuration logic now. I have been looking around everywhere for a understandable install guide to get windchill and navigate working.  The problem I keep running into is that PTC kb has lots of different methods but none seem complete. If you use a combination of them it just seems to make the situation worse. Add to this that the configuration seems to change from build to build and after installing 8.5 something that worked in 1.8 or earlier doesn't seem to work anymore.  This KB is the one that i have followed with the most success. https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article?n=CS247505 But now I'm stuck (for 2 weeks)  Authentication works. I can log in with windchill users. The Thingworx-IntegrationRuntime just doesnt seem to work.  I don't know if its the certificates, the CA certificate order or if its thingworx or apache? Hi We have an Excel application to download quickly (in batch) the pdf or step file from Windchill. We like to show also the 3D (Creo view express files) in an Internet explorer window. For this we have Author licenses. Although I am passing the credentials in the header, internet explorer prompts me to enter my password. After creating a new Part Request, I don't appear to have the functionality to search for object type "Part Request". I see on the Windchill Help Center Documentation on New Part Request that an object type "Part Request" should exist, but it doesn't appear in my list of object types when I perform an advanced search in Windchill. Any ideas how to get Part Request added to my list of object types?

I am trying to remove large number of Projects with the condition that the Project is empty (no files in it).   Is there any way to display (maybe through a report) all contexts with no files?

All of our Creo parts & assemblies contain a string parameter called “DESCRIPTION”.  We would like to be able to search Windchill by the values entered for this parameter (and potentially others as well).  Ideally, we would also like to add a column to both our Windchill view & our Workspace view that displays this parameter and it’s values. Add column for model parameter to Workspace/Windchill view:(item 1.png) Be able to search Windchill for specific Creo model parameters (item2 and 3 .png) Please refer to attached images for items 1 and 2. Hello, we are trying to add a custom servlet to the Windchill tomcat but we are not able to do it. So, far we added a custom servlet that can be accessed through Windchill like. http://<servername>/Windchill/servlet/myservlet/mybean But this is not we are trying to do we would like to access the servlet like http://<servername>/myservlet/mybean. We did everything like on the regular tomcat (edit web.xml, deployed servlet under webapps) but still the servlet was not found. Does any body has idea how to do it or can point us to the right direction?   Thanks, best regards!

Hi, What is the best way to notify a deadline? I use Windchill 11.0 and now I try to archive the certificate of calibration, and I would a notify by email 60 days befor the deadline document. I have try to add deadline to a task, but exist another way? Thanks for support.
