Hi,   Is it possible to apply option and variants concept for Documents?   In my case, i have 1 WTPart in overloaded structure with three different documents... Based on selection during variant creation, only one document should be available with Variant, Not all three documents.    Any suggestions would help me a lot. Thanks in Advance

I am really struggling with Windchill's autonumbering behavior and its integration with Creo.  Even though Windchill was released 19 years ago (1998), it still doesn't seem like it's properly integrated with Creo.  What I would really like is to have autonumbering enabled, but optional, and not have numbers automatically consumed (in the database) unless they are actually used (by Creo).   Here is what my OIR (object initialization rule) looks like.  This should pull a number only when I don't manually name the Creo object something else. This works exaclty as expected when creating a new file in Creo.  No number is pulled from the database until an object has actually been created by Creo. Unfortunately this falls apart everywhere else.  All of these other actions will pull a number from the database as soon as the dialog is opened: Save As from Creo Rename from the embedded browser in Creo Assembly - Create New Object Assembly

I have a large amount of supplier FIT data that is more up to date than the 217 FN2 failure rate data included in the libraries of WQS. I have loaded a lot of that in as specified failure rates and updated the data into a user library. The problem is by using so many specified values the mission calculations based on the mission profile are not adjusting for temperature changes.   I have updated my user library using the import wizard for parts with an updated lambda B or base failure rate on 3 parts successfully. Then I tried to use the same import template to load several hundred parts and none of the lambda Bs updated. I can change a part from tagged to untagged or specified failure rate or calculated failure rate. I am very puzzled why I could change lambda B once but not again.    Has anybody done this? If you have or you have suggestions please let me hear from you.   BTW - I exported my user library into an excel file and none of the lambdas or Pi v

Hi all, I want to know how to realize the function with QuerySpec or other measure same as SQL statement of "select for update".I found "qs.setLock(true)" api, but according to TS it is unsupported api.   backgound:Target class is created with Information Modeler to manage specific list of numbers. Stored numbers on the database table need to be exclusively used with WTPart each by each. So I want to update the column which means processed flag when a record is used. I think a record should be locked when it is extracted first.

Has anyone used Windchill to do the following :     For any of Ansys, Abaqus, or Star-CCM+, an analysis contains: All documentation and notes; Analysis geometry, setup, input files; Reports, slide decks, non-direct analysis results (i.e. excel or Mathcad calculations); Anything else produced to support the effort during the analysis; txt file and all files necessary to recreate the results.   These are split up into ~5 different folders for organization. Each folder may have up to hundreds of sub files and folders.   We would want a system which would retain all of the files except certain file extension types we have identified which are the results files. These could be recreated at a later date a represent many TBs of data. I would want this step to be automated.   Every analysis reports to a part number (or assembly number) and can be categorized into its analysis type (Structural, Thermal, CFD, EMag, Coupled, etc.). I have a question about viewing Alternate BOMs.We have many assemblies that contain an Alternate BOM and many that do not.  We only use the Design view in our organization. When we search for Part Numbers we can see the Alt BOM show up in the search table.  That much is clear.But I'm wondering if there's any way to flag a WTPart as having an Alt BOM for our general Users. That is , some way to say that THIS WTPart has an Alt BOM, and THAT WTPart does not.  I'm hoping for something obvious to the more casual or general User.Thanks in advance.James HallWindchill 11.0 M030 CPS09WGM 11.0 M030Inventor Pro 2017

Hello,          I want to create a WTPart part object using Rest API. This is possible, but I am not able to provide a specific subtype name. I can not found any Odata for that. Can any one help me with an example to create part of subtype using REST API ?  

We have a user who has revised instances so that the latest generic is incompatible with some latest instances.     I was trying to use the following article https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS128366 I can't find the option 'Per Workspace Configuration' described in the article. Note, I don't want to revise all objects as it would include an ECN and sending out new drawings to the supplier. We're using PDMLink 10.2 M030-CSP25   Anyone who have used the process in the article or have another solution for aligning the latest generic with all latest instances?  

Hello users.   We use Windchill 10.1 and within our work processes we generate tasks for users. These tasks tell users a series of instructions to perform.   Changing the browser language changes everything about the task received by the user except the instruction text. It is a value from the statements field within the activity tab within the task object.)   Would there be any way to translate these instructions as it is done with one's own objects and attributes? Any solution that does not involve sending the text in several languages (since it is limited to 2000 characters) would be useful to us.   Many thanks,Greetings.

Hello,I am working to fix some data integrity issues we have after migrating from Agile to Windchill.I need to change the Revisions for some iterations, but I cannot use the ChangeRevisionLabelUtility.I was able to update on the "WTPart" table the "versionIdA2versionInfo", "versionSortIdA2versionInfo", "iterationIdA2iterationInfo" columns, on the "ControlBranch" table the"versionId" column.This works fine, the RevisionLabelCleanser shows no issues, however I have the "Revise" action available only on the version 3X.2 (was D.2 before the SQL change).This means that something is wrong on my query.This is what I know so far.ControlBranch CB, WTPart P, WTPartMaster M:CB.idA3B5=M.idA2A2CB.idA3C5='0'P.idA3masterReference=M.idA2A2For example, this is what I used to change the version from D.2 to 3X.2:update ControlBranch set versionId='A', idA3C5='720510629' where idA2A2 in (select CB.idA2A2 from WTPart P, WTPartMaster M, ControlBranch CB where CB.idA3B5=M.idA2A2 and CB.idA3C5='0' and P.idA3m

Hi,   If a change notice is "saved" with the Submit Later option, what is the actual status of the CN? The Windchill HC is a little vague in this area and I have a few questions. Is the object pending creation? Has the workflow initiated? What happens if more than one user creates a CN with Submit Later and includes the same objects on it? Is there any visibility for others to know about the pending CN? Should the change status column show a pending CN in the Submit Later state? I like this option because it allows people to mature the CN over time, but I'd like to have more visibility to it for others. Maybe I'm just missing something simple?   -Scott  

Recently I've noticed one of our regions is adding (on the Content Tab) URLs to outside websites.  Since we are a cloud based system, I am extremely concerned about that site being an opening into our system.  Which makes me wonder about a couple questions.1. Has anyone experienced anything like a security breach via an external URL link?  2. Change Object Discussions: Is it possible, and if so, then how can the resolved ECNs' discussion topics become read-only (like a permanent "check-out") and new ones cannot be made?Basically would like to lock the discussions after an ECN is resolved.

Hello users.   I have a doubt which I need to consult with you to solve an issue that we are dealing with.   What I need is to enable certain documents to view them as such in the file explorer, both hidden and the non-hidden, but users can't open them, edit them, or even click on them.   Simply view the information displayed in the file browser and also on the advanced search results. Just view the information such as the extension and including a formal disabling of the document link.   Thanks!
