XML, ESI, queue had pending messages.

Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: We use ESI to transfer data to ERP, flat xml transfer of the changed data.Description: Problem is in analyzing and restarting the ESI/ERP Queues. Where can i find the right queue and how do i restart this, or re-offer/restart processing the xml's.(and why might they be stuck in pending mode, in the q).This doesn't seem to be in utility's > queues management but a different gui/control in Winchill? Any documentation or advice would be great, thanks.

Attribute mapping of Calculated assosiation to WTpart

Version: Windchill 12.1 Use Case: Mapping of attributes from CAD drawing (Assosiation: Calculated)Description: We have different parameters/attributes defined in the CAD and in the Drawing - The attributes are mapped to the WTpart, but are only synced from the CAD part (as it is associated as Owner). Association: Calculated does not show up on any of the lists of mapping options.  Is it possible to set that the attributes should be mapped from a "Calculated"?Is there another workaround (besides putting all the attributes/parameters in the CAD)?

Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: I would like to hear from anyone able to meet data sovereignty requirements for multiple countries working in the same global implementation.Description: For some industries, there can be requirements for certain data to not leave the country. In a global implementation a data sovereignty requirement can apply to more than one country while the Windchill server can only physically exist in one. Meaning certain data from some countries can never be managed using Windchill. Theoretically if an organisation defines "data" as only files (so not including meta-data), by using correctly configured security labels in combination with vaulting rules, data/files always stay in country. I don't want to get into a debate about what "data" really is, that is a discussion for a legal compliance team. LoadFromFile CSV file format for multiple documents

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.0 and Datecode with CPS 12.0.1.2what is the format for the CSV file to use with LoadFromFile when I have 10 or more documents to load. I can load a single document ok but not when adding another document to the same csv file. file will convert to XML ok but not load?? CSV & XML files attached. MS log as well

Email Subject Line Customization

Restrict Download Option in Windchill Navigate While Allowing View Access to Attachments

We have a customer requirement to restrict the download functionality for Windchill Navigate users, while still allowing them to view (visualize) primary and secondary content attachments. The intent is to prevent users from downloading files, yet enable them to access and read the data through Navigate.Currently, access control in Windchill is managed via ACL permissions. However, if download access is restricted at the ACL level, users are unable to even view or search for attachments in Windchill Navigate. This creates a functional limitation, as the customer wants their users to be able to see the content in Navigate (for example, PDFs or viewable files), but not download it.

Changes - Order of Completion

Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: I have a requirement from a customer to enforce an order in which changes to parts included in Windchill are completed in. For example, if I had a project which was to replace an inner tube on a bike, I may introduce several change objects into the Windchill instance to achieve this. Task 1 may be to remove the tyre. Task 2 may be to remove the punctured inner tube. Task 3 may be to apply the new inner tube. Assuming we had different people performing each of these tasks, it may be desirable to specify that Task 3 can only be completed one Task 2 had been completed and that Task 3 should not be attempted before this.Description: Using my example above, can anybody recommend the best way to ensure change tasks are completed in a certain order and if it is possible to prevent changes being completed before a pre-requisite change has been completed?

Obtain expression robot name from called java class

All, I have a scenario where I am calling a custom java method from an expression robot in a workflow. I pass the self and primaryBusinessObject references as parameters to the call and what I need is to get the name of the expression robot. This is not a problem when the call is made from an assigned activity because then the self variable refers to the activity from which I can get the name. However, when self is send from an expression robot it refers to the process itself.  Does anybody know how to get the name of the expression robot? I should mentions that in this particular scenario I do not want to pass it as a parameter to the method.

"State" and "Life Cycle Template" Attribute Visibility - Guest Role

Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: I have set up a product in my Windchill Instance. Within the product, I have added a group to the "Guest" role. This is the only role the group is associated to. I have also created a sub-type of a WTPart. When a user in this group looks at the "Details" tab of the WTPart sub-type, they are provided with values of "Secured Information" for the "State" and "Life Cycle Template". However, when they go into an OOTB WTPart (Internal Name - wt.part.WTPart), stored in the same folder of the same product, they are given visibility of the values for "State" and "Life Cycle Template". Select Participants for Change Request or Add Attachments for Promotion Request

After all of these years, PTC has still not aligned the Creation Wizard for Promotion Request and Problem Report / Change Request / Review (Design or Peer).  Does anyone know if PTC have any plans or is there an EASY way to add the Select Participant step to a Change Object or the Add Attachments step to a Promotion Request?  (I am sure it can be done by customization but didn't want to go down that route.) I wanted to use the Peer Review but it is not user friendly for the originator to receive an initial task just to set up the participants when it could easily be part of the object creation wizard as it is in the Promotion Request.  So, I decided to configure my own Peer Review using a Promotion Request instead.  But, now I am reminded that you can't "Add Attachments" to a Promotion Request in the create wizard.  So each option only gets me 90% of the way to what I want.

Create a CAD document in a different state

I have 5 states, design, development, production gate, production change and production released.  When a user create a new CAD document it starts in design and has to go through the production gate to reach production released.  The production gate is intended for CAD moving from development prototypes to production and requires extra approvals. But there are times when production engineers need to create a part which do not have to go through the production gate approvals. Is there a way allow them to create a part in the production change state? I see in the ACL that there are permissions for create in the specified state but I'm not sure how to set the life cycle state before creating and checking in a new part.

When we have a top level folder displayed, there are 3 areas that we can use to filter/search the results. In the upper right, Windchill will search the entire system. On the left is a Search in selected folders box. Both of these require a wildcard (*) before and after a string to return results. On the right is a Search in table box which does not require wildcards to filter the results.  We had one user who swears on an older version the Search in selected folders did not require wildcards but in Windchill 13.0.2.0, it does. Any insight as to why the one search works without wildcards and the others require them?

Unable to update the properties in SLD* files , using the Windchill API' to set attribute on EPM

We are currently checking the possibility to create a interface from SAP to Windchill, While we are able to get the required attribute values from SAP and set it on EPM Documents , but these attributes values create a different entries in SLD* file properties using windchill attribute internal nameshttps://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS110292?source=searchI understand as per this article that this is expected behavior as we have explicit mapping for Designated Parameters. Is there a way to rectify this?
