Hi Folks,today I would like to start a short discussion about Family Table models (standard parts) used in Windchill.What is your experience? Do you use Family Table models for standard parts in Windchill? ... or do you use only separated objects (one model per one material number)?I do not want to speak about 5 instances in Generic models - I mean >> from 200 to 500 instances per one Generic part  - For example Screw with Hexagon head.How to manage this huge Generic model and how to add new instance, set state for new object and update existing parts in different workspaces.I waiting for your positive or negative answers.Thanks for your comments and ideas.Best Regards,Vladimir

I am looking for a way to use the representation from a EPM Doc (in this case a PDF) to create a new WT Doc.  The worker is making the PDF on the EPM Doc but then that PDF is a starting point for a document that would have different rules and Life cycle from the original EPM Doc.  I thought that there was a republish command that would allow the result to be a new object.  Does anyone have experience doing this?

I want to display 3D model in Creoview or Thingview, but as I bind 3D model to that widgets it's shows nothing. please find attached img for linking ref.  

Can we configure cascading attributes in Windchill 11.0? Or is there any workaround method to achieve it?  

Hi All,   My requirement is to set default object type for Variance in particular Product. Like, for Product A - Deviation          For Product B - Waiver and this type is non editable, so user wont control this.   Kindly suggest possible approach to do this.   Thanks, Vivek S

I have some users that don't have "Software Downloads" as an option under the "Quick Links" pull down in Windchill. Most users see this option. Is there a profile setting or preference that controls the visibility of this? 

Hello, I have a few parts in our windchill database that when the main assembly was reved it did not take the instances along with it. So now I have to reconnect the instances to the main assembly. My assembly uses solidworks. Does anyone know how I can do this? I have attached a picture to show the parts I am trying to fix. 

Does anyone know how to get support from PTC for the First Robotics Windchill server? It has been offline all weekend at the worst possible time. There use to be a PTC support community for First robotics but that seems to be non functional as well.   Appreciate any info    Paul

Last May, PTC (Robert Morrison) made an webinar referring that with Creo View Adapters 5.0 and Windchill 11.1 M010, It is possible to publish PDF representations for MS documents without Adobe Experience Manager. Where is the documentations that supports these statements? What license is required?  

Hi Developers,   I'm working on PTC Navigate 1.5.0 and Thingworx 8.0.1   I'm having issues similar to this article. The rest.properties file also seem to be proper as mentioned in the article. The configurations on the "ptc-windchill-integration-connector"are as shown in the image   I have observed the following in my composer:  "ValidateConnection" service is giving "Success:200-OK" "GetEndpointList" service is giving the below error   Unable to Invoke Service GetEndpointList on ptc-windchill-integration-connector : Your route exchange has failed. HTTP operation failed calling [http://<IP>/Windchill/servlet/rest/swagger.json] with status [404 - 404]       3. When i tried loading the below URL i got HTTP Error 404 page not found. http://<IP>/Windchill/servlet/rest/swagger.json   I have tried reinstalling the patch twice and it was not helping. I can't find any root cause for this issue. Is this related to windchill in

Hi Forum, is there a way to update the view of a Windchill part in Creo View (in order to see any intermediate changes on the server) without having to close Creo View and (instantly) reopen the component again from Windchill?

Hi Forum,   I created some annotated views of an assembly with Creo View Lite (on a first Windows PC "PC1") and saved them as annotation sets on the Windchill server. These annotation sets are listed correctly in Windchill, and can be restored, displayed and edited when opened later (on the same computer PC1). Is there a Windchill API available or some other way to determine if an attribute is mandatory to create an object. For example, for creating WTPart object, the name is required. So is there a way to determine all the required attributes for an object?

Hi,We're trying to set up Windchill. We have a Windchill account and can log into it, but we're having issues registering our server in Creo. We had previously managed to register a server, and this is still on our list, but it says "offline" and we can't select it. We tried to register a new server, but after typing in our name and location fields into the boxes (using the location provided in the Windchill Practical Guide for FIRST), messages pop up, saying "Invalid server location. Please change the 'Location' field and try again." and "You have no workspace to register. You cannot register this server without a workspace."Thanks for any help help you can offer.

Is anyone currently running the two listed programs and software in the title in conjunction with one another? We are currently operating on an Inventor only CAD system with a physical vault backing up files. I know that Windchill is compatible with different software, including Inventor, and will transfer bulk files from various vault systems. But my question is, are there any other issues while running these together? I was looking at other threads and found some information stating possible errors with locking active work spaces, and other issues that plagued this software duo in previous versions; such as closing the active autodesk windows when importing or working in Windchill. Overall, for anyone using these software versions and programs, is it an efficient system going from Inventor to Windchill? Are there any issues, large or small? Looking for any and all feedback possible. Thank you in advance.

Hi all, we're using ProjectLink with external designers who only have rights to Project contexts. We've managed to assign from product context Change Tasks to them as well as share those and related Change Notices to the Project. However, what should be looked at to grant edit rights to the Change Task? This is required because there's need to edit Resulting Objects by the assignee. I've tested setting Full Control to all states for the Change Task object in the particular Project in Access Policies, but still editing is not possible. We have 11.0 M030 CPS11

Hey all-   I am attempting to use some of the business administration tools on Windchill 10.1, build M040. I am using the Windchill client through Google Chrome. I am logged in as my organization's administrator, with full admin rights.   I am attempting to access the team administration settings through Organization > Utilities. When I click "team administration," I get an odd window that looks incomplete (See the attached screenshot). At first I thought it was loading, but I gave up on that after about 30 minutes of waiting.   I am wondering if anyone on the forum has seen anything like this before. I am fairly new to Windchill administration so hopefully there is an easy fix.   Thank you!
