Windchill

Folks, Curious if anyone has ever completed a Microsoft SQL to Oracle database migration for their Windchill implementation. I know there are lots of companies who have done the reverse migration but I cannot find anyone who has gone from SQL to Oracle. I have heard rumours of PTC customers who have transitioned from SQL to Oracle, but I am struggling to find anyone who has actually done it. Anyone have any information to share?

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 13.0 and Datecode with CPS 13.0.2.3I am generating a report of assigned tasks, but none of the tasks running in a sub-workflow (a workflow running inside another workflow) appear in the report. I am using the "Wf Assigned Activity" type in the report and it works for all other tasks in that workflow. The tasks in the sub-workflow are also assigned. If I use the "Wf Activity" type I can see those tasks in the report, but I get extraneous data and then can't get assigned user information that I need. Is there another relationship I need in Query Builder to get tasks in a sub-workflow?

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 13.0 and Datecode with CPS 13.0.2.1In our dev environment we installed Eclipse per documentation in the customization guide. This reduced the number of MethodServers from 3 to just 1. How do we restore the other 2 method servers with eclipse still running?Here are the errors that I faced No error message. Before eclipse setup, we had 3 method servers. Post eclipse setup with the required additions in the wt.properties file we have just 1 and can't find a way to restore the other 2.

Hello, We recently started to encounter a problem with multiple entries of the same manufacturing part/assembly being automatically added/generated when using the BOM transformer. A large part of our sub assemblies and parts are standardized and also have linked standardized manufacturing parts. This means that when we create an MBOM from an EBOM which in it’s assembly structure contains some of these standardized sub-assemblies/parts the manufacturing version of these parts are automatically added inside the MBOM structure. This in itself is desirable since it saves allot of time having to manually add or create these manufacturing versions every time. However lately we have found that when generating an MBOM multiple instances of the same manufacturing parts are added which have the exact same version, name and quantity. The double entries can be removed manually but could potently lead to problems in orders if the person constructing the MBOM is not aware or payi

Version: Windchill 12.1   Use Case: I have two roles, RoleA and RoleB that should be able to create change notices. RoleA can but RoleB cannot. Description: The policies for the two roles are the same for Change Notice and Change Task.  The roles are also both part of the Change Notice Team and Change Activity Team templates.  The roles are part of the Product that CNs are being created in.  When I look at the CN folder permissions, RoleA has Create where RoleB does not.  What could I be missing?

Version: Windchill 12.0   Use Case: The company I work at uses Solidworks and Windchill. We recently found a BOM error due to the creation of a Virtual Component in one of the CAD assemblies. The Virtual Component is saved in the SLDASM file and no external SLDPRT file is created. With no changes to Windchill and/or Workgroup Manager, Windchill will ignore this component and no CAD Document or associated Windchill Part will be created. Description: Curious how other companies using Solidworks as their primary CAD solution are dealing with Virtual Components in their CAD assemblies?   This ability is turned off in our default Solidworks settings file, but people have permission to change their settings.    Windchill and WGM support Solidworks Virtual Components, but it’s an all or none option. I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.1 and Datecode with CPS 12.1.0.0We recently integrated our Windchill system with SiliconExpert via API using the SiliconExpert Synch extension to synchronize compliance attributes such as REACH and RoHS. While synchronization works correctly for some parts, we’re encountering issues with others: The SuMa Part Synch option successfully checks and sets the values. However, the corresponding attributes remain empty in the Windchill interface. When we recheck the same parts, the values do not match — as if they were not previously set. That suggests that the synchronization is partially working but not fully updating the Windchill attributes for certain parts. Additionally, Windchill text attribute (e.g. reach_cas_number) does not accept multiple values when formatted as 7440-43-9 || 7439-92-1 in SE API. We would like to understand what format the receiving attribute expects so that the values from the SiliconExpert API are correctly populated.Here a

I am using Windchill PDS - Internal Site Release 10.2 and Datecode with CPS N/AWe need to change the default Apache ports in our Windchill PDMLink 10.2 environment. Currently, Apache is running on the default ports (80 for HTTP and 443 for HTTPS). Please provide guidance and best practices on which configuration files and Windchill settings must be updated, as well as the recommended validation steps after the change.I would also like to schedule a call with PTC Support to go over this issue in detail and ensure the port change is implemented correctly without downtime or impact to integrations. I hope to share a method which I think might make filling out AML/AVL entries faster, at least in my company. See, most of my OEM parts are the same as the MFG part so it literally a copy task to fill out. The one by one method is too damn slow and with version 13's expose org preference, a total PITA. I've done most of the big sweeps via excel imports so what's left is small blocks of parts lacking AMLs. Tough to find and fill out.  I have a report (QML) above that export the full AML/AVL I care about. I have observed that often similar part numbers are in order from the same MFG but just not entered in. I just need to add in MFG name and as a base, they would be approved to start. What I need is a way to make that notation and generate the import sheets for those notations.  I have settled on a VBA macro (.xlsm) that will pull in the QML reports of AML/AVL with gaps and all Suppliers. I am using Windchill Aerospace & Defense Release N/A and Datecode with CPS N/AI'm working on some parts and drawings and when I check my drawings in and then download them into a different workspace or another machine they are deleting the dimensions off of my parts. I have tried restarting CREO, deleting my workspace, creating new drawings and a few more things and am having no success.

Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: I have created a group at the product level within Windchill and now wish to delete the group.Description: Since there is no "Participant Administration" utility in the context of a product, how can groups created at the product level be deleted?

I have created a sub-type of a "Change Notice". I would like to hide the "Location" attribute from the "Create New Layout". I have selected the "Location" attribute from under the "Attributes" tab of the sub-type before navigating to the "Visibility" tab and setting the attributes visibility to "Hidden" for the "Create New" operation. However, the "Location" attribute continues to display when I try to create a new instance of my sub-type. I have a requirement to remove the "Complexity" attribute from the same layout. I was able to do this successfully by following the same approach detailed above for "Location". I'm unsure why this would work for one attribute and not another. Can anybody shed any light on this?
