Windchill

Hello friends,   I am setting my Distribution as it is working fine for me currently with Windchill 11 but it is not sending inflammations of Alternate parts along with the main part to my PLM connector. While setting Distribution target information manually from 'Manage Distribution' from Site->Utilities, i am getting this error on clicking the 'Yes'.   Screen shot of an error has been attached with this discussion. Hi every body, I am new to the PLM/ Windchill field and I am having a problem when I follow some of the courses. I want to generate occurrences without having to fill in the Reference Designator.  When I do that, my occurrences don't update. Is that normal? Regards,

I have a requirement to consume/Read/Retrieve the Engineering Images stored in the WindChill Data Store.I have some to do some basic CRUD operations through a Asp.net Core WebApi or MVC application.   Is there any API's for  for reading the engineering drawing images from the Windchill data store.   It would be great if I can get some samples in Asp.net MVC or Web-API for my requirement

All, Are you using this functionality in Windchill, if so what are your results?   Using “Open filtered CAD document structure in Creo View” shown in the image below for unpublished files, opens incorrect assembly structure. It tries to open the Creo Views files for the parts that it did publish and assembles them using the default coordinate system (or something like that) which is definitely not how they are assembled in Creo.   This create an incorrect viewable that people could accidently start using to create media, redlines, assembly instructions, etc.…… I am suggesting we investigate the how to turn off these links.   We are not using Positioning Assemblies yet.  

Hi, I am a beginner.   If there are objects checked out during the promotion process, the process will generate an error.So I want to add an expression that checks to see if the object that initiates the promotion process is checked out.Tell us which api, class i should use   Also, I would like to add code to be automatically revised when I make a change request.The element that will be automatically revised is the object associated with the change request.   I really need to your help.Help me please Thank you.   from ChaSeonHo

We are looking to implement automatic post publishing of additional files (PDF of a DRW and STP of the PRT) at release to a wtDocument (or a subtype).   Are anyone of you doing so and setting the state of the document automatically?  we have "unknown-source" set so that when a promotion request is approved, or a change notice is approved, or the CAII does a "Set State" that it kicks off republishing and then post-publishing.   The issue we are running into now is that if a regular user submits the promotion request, post publishing fails because it uses the submitter of the promotion request to authorize the post publishing.  Since regular users shouldn't have create, modify, modify content on released documents, that user doesn't have the permission.   Has anyone ran into this / got around it?

Hello Everyone,We have purchased a handful of the Altium Workgroup Managers.  We are currently running Windchill 10.2 M020 with latest CPS.  I have been unsuccessful at bringing anything from Altium into a workspace or connecting it to a new Ecad design.  PTC documentation is very poor if you ask me on how all this is suppose to work.  I assumed this WGM would function just like the AutoCAD or Solidworks WGM.  If anyone has any home made training material they would be willing to share so I can start to see how this thing works that would be great.  The version of Altium I am working with is 14 but I have been told version 16 works but is not officially supported.

Automatically revise (or allow with collection)published content documents when source CAD Document is revised

The 'importable' spreadsheet contains all attributes that have ever been assigned to the parts in the results list, regardless of whether the attribute is now active.  This can be confusing for users who like to utilize the importable spreadsheet functionality for data cleanup.  I would like to find a way to get a list of only the classification attributes currently assigned to the current node which is associated to the part(s) in question.   Has anyone found a way to accomplish this?    i.e. for part X, which is classified as Y, I want to see all values for attributes that are currently assigned to node Y and not see any values that may have previously been populated but are no longer a part of the attribute set for node Y.

Hello, does anybody know where to find information about type of events (like "WorkInProgressServiceEvent") and the related events (like "WorkInProgressServiceEvent/PRE_CHECKIN").   Is there a list of them or where can I found some information about it.   Regards Felix

Hi,I have installed Windchill PDM Link 11.0 F000. I want to update existing server installation (install Gateway for Cadence ADW) using PSI version 11.0. After choosing Update Existing Installation/Install Optional Components the "Standalone Product or Component" is grey. I cannot choose it. On the server I have stoppen everyting: tomcat, LDAP directory. Any ideas?Slavek

There is a loader utility to associate WTDocuments to WTParts in bulk.  In the same loader, we could associate one WTDocument to one WTPart, one WTDocument to multiple WTParts, multiple WTDocuments to one WTPart or multiple WTDocuments to multiple WTParts.   Likewise, is there a way to disassociate WTDocument(s) from WTPart(s) through bulk operation?

Hello   The demo was in progress through World Car as follows.However, when visualization is done, the image is broken like the following picture. The version of Windchill is 10.2 M030 cps 25.The adapter and client are 3.0.WVS used Creo 3.0 M130.Walker's Recipe Editor is the default value. Worker is configured on a PC other than the Windchill Server PC.   Thank you.

So I have a bunch of assemblies with viewables created for them that are not showing the whole assembly.  We are using Positioning and Extended Positioning assemblies.  But I noticed that every one that isn't showing up is fixed in the CREO Assembly.  We are using Creo 3 m140 and Windchill 11 m030.  Below is a screenshot of what we are seeing.  Anyone with any ideas?  Other than the obvious which is to not fix items in an assembly.  

After I define a new workflow template, I need to use this workflow for a document. How can I do this? Should I again go to utilities/workflow template Administration/choose the workflow template/ Right Mouse button/Initate Workflow process/..."    Understand there is another alternate method:  Need to cusotmize jsp pages etc., to add the menu along with the list of change processes    Is there any other better method?   Thanks...  - Ravi

When you access a lifecycle template or workflow template in Windchill, the Java application launches.Each time a security warning is displayed, you have to click Run every time to run it. I would appreciate it if you let me know how to set it to run without the corresponding security warning.

hi, how to map the "source" attribute of catia in Windchill I created an enumeration with values : Unknown, Made, Bought, 0, 1, 2 , catProductBough, catProductMade and catProductSourceUnknown. but it does not work the error message is : The value of the Source attribute must be one of the following values: unknown, Made, Bought, 0, 1, 2, Unknown, Manufactured, Purchased, catProductSourceUnknown, catProductMade, catProductBought. The existing value may no longer be valid for this attribute.   thank

We used to have an admin who knew a lot more about WindChill than the current people including myself, I just have some general questions I can't really figure out. We are going through and trying to removing old users. The first method thought of is to add the old users to an admin group, change their password, log in as them and then remove all their workspaces. One of our confusions is that we have probably 8, 9 different groups set up from years ago and don't understand why some have visibility to certain product libraries and contexts. We had to test everyone to find which ones had visibility of all library so that we could see their workspaces by logging into them so we could delete them.The other method I'm thinking of trying is actually deleting the user using windchill's delete function and then removing their personal cabinet. Is there any issue with doing thing? Does that blow everything away? I know it asks about undoing checked out objects so I'd think it is deleting every

Hello,   I am trying to use PTC Navigate 1.1 for Windchill 10.1 M040. I have successfully installed Thingworx 6.5 which is compatible for Windchill 10.1 M040. Further, I have configured the Thingworx Composer as suggested in Install and Configuration guide of PTC Navigate 1.1. Through the PTC Navigate GUI (PTC.AccessApp.Master mashup), when I try to search on for any option given, the results comes "No results found for entered information." When searched on PTC, found an article regarding installation of Patch for Windchill 10.1 M040, but I have it installed. I cannot browse any Windchill data on Navigate. I have mentioned the URL of Windchill in ptc-windchill-demo-thing on Configuration tab. My Windchill url is http://localhost:90/Windchill. I am searching in Navigate by Administrator account and wcadmin is also added in the Administrator group of Thingworx. Does anyone have knowledge of this or similar experience to understand the efficacy and issues.   Regards, Amar
