Dear Reader,Our purchase department is spending hours downloading manuallya dxf file for each drawing beforesending it to the manufacturer.We like to automate this manual downloadfrom Windchill and would like to work with Excel (and VBA).The number of the drawing to look for could be entered in the Excel list and the vba code could download the dxf file attached to the drawing and place this in a folder.Does anyone have experience with this and likes to share his code ?Best regards,Bernard Wielfaert

I have Windchill 10.2 installed across two Linux Servers (Front End and Back End Server).  I would like to enable the local server firewalls on the FrontEnd and BackEnd servers but when I do the Windchill randomly stops responding and I receive a "Site Status Change Notification" message saying Vaults "defaultsystemvault,defaultuploadvault" contained in this site are inaccessible because site status is "METHOD SERVER NOT RESPONDING".  After 5 minutes I receive another "Site Status Change Notification" message saying that the site is reponding normally again and can continue to use the application normally.  When the local server firewalls are disabled the application works perfectly with no problems.Does anyone know why I am receiving this error or have a working set of the local Linux firewall rules that I can see as an example? Hiii friends,   In Project link 10.2, When trying to save as project template fails due to wt.vc.versioncontrolexecution.Exception : iteration already exists.Can any one have solution for this? kindly help. I have enclosed the error snapshot.

Community members -   Do a lot of you use the check for duplicate models capability in ModelCheck? If so, does it work well for you? Anyone know of any good videos/information demonstrating this capability?  

Has anyone change the name from Issues to Problem Report (see picture)?  I would like to change this, does anyone have the steps to change? Greg

I'm testing upgrading from 10.2 on server 1 to 11.0 on server 2.  Last time I did an upgrade it was on the same machine so it made some things easier like reconnecting to our corporate LDAP.  Does anyone have the procudures on how to reconnect it when you chose th copy the additional JNDI adapters during upgrade?  I noticed that my app-Windchill-AuthProvider.xml file does not have the entry for it.  I also noticed that in the Info*Engine administration that it still points to the old server name.  And that SQL Server still has the old server name in the repository table.

How to update Signature Link table using API to develop a utility

What happens during the build of WTPart structure of a CAD Assembly when few of its components are present in different container/folders than mentioned in the part_creation.xml configuration.   2. Is it safe to stop the utility its execution in between and resume? How to stop the utility?   3. Is it recommended to execute the Part Creation utility in the live Production environment. Hello, I just finished to read " PTC Windchill Vaulting and Replication Planning " and I still have 2 questions about replication :   1. Why the content ( A on the illustration bellow) is store in RDBMS database and not in the external vault?   2. If a user upload or check in a content on a remote file server, when are the metadata sent to the master server ? I am trying to figure out if conditional watermarking is possible: (we want the watermark to = value of PART_CLASSIFICATION for all cases except when that value is UNCLASSIFIED, then we want it to be something like SECRET/RD PENDING REVIEW). The actual label doesn't matter. The main question is: Is it possible to have the watermark feature support logic in terms of which watermark it uses?   Thanks for any help.

Dear All, Is there an API to execute report (Report or Report Template) in backend and get result as outputstream? For example : 1. I created an Report Template using QueryBuilder 2. How to get report result as an outputstream by passing necessary report parameters to execute above created "Report Template"   3. Is there an API available?  

So we have migrated our workflows from 9.1 to 11.0.  We have got most things to work. One issue, If there is a workflow task that goes to multiple users (all users required to complete) at the same time and there is a routing choice of radio buttons.  The task displays with nothing preselected, which is how it should.  So that user makes a selection and completes the task.  But when the next user looks at the task, the routing radio button is preselected with the previous users selection.  I would expect each user to view the task and the routing options are not selected.  What is going on?This works correctly in 9.1, with the blank radio buttons for each user. 

I have exported my Oracle and LDAP data, my cache vaults and run robocopy on my data vaults to my test machine. I have installed OOTB Windchill 11 on that machine and Oracle 12c on the DB machine. Will the Upgrade Manager work when my machine names are now PDM3 & PDM4 instead of the WC10 machines that are PDM1 and PDM2? Basically it is a rehost/upgrade in one move. If that will not work, I will need to do the rehost to PDM3 and PDM4 of my WC10/Oracle11g, export all of the data again, then blow away WC10/Oracle11g and reinstall WC11/Oracle12c and then import the data for the Upgrade Manager. Seems there should be an easier method of doing an upgrade!!!!  

Has anyone found a way to control Creo View Resolution, especially of text?  It is very grainy and hard on the eyes.  It would be a bonus if text could be recognized as text!   We are currently still using the default home grown ProE "stick font" (not TTF and not OTF) simply called "font".

I'm nearing the end of a revision to our Change Management workflow and I'd like to remove the 'Comments' text field from the various assigned activities in both the Change Notice and the Change Activities.   I've poked around a bit but can't locate any information on how to remove that.   Suggestions greatly appreciated.

Has anyone installed Creo View Lite 4.x?  Every version 1 through 3.1 has taken a long time to open.  At least at the company I am at.   I installed version 4.0 on one of my users computer and the speed has increase substantially.  But it's interesting that we are still on PDMLink 10.1 M050 and it's not certified or even supported to work together.   Has anyone else noticed a speed increase in opening Creo View 4.x vs. previous versions?

I haved 2 representation for drawings (.DWG & .PDF) in Windchill 11.When I click on Windchill icon, it opens PDF in Creo View. How do I configure to open DWG? Thanks.

While using "Save a copy" for my assembly, I managed to capture/rename and save the drawing and all the lower assemblies and parts with the new part number, but the system delete my family tables. In other words, it saves the instances as standalone parts. Is there anything in config that I need to address to capture the family tables as well? All suggestions are welcomed. Dear Experts,   I have a situation where new design requirements needs a change in available standard library objects from Windchill. This brought us to situation to save as of standard parts and modify for new requirement , but then the new part is not standardised nor classified, causing duplicate creation of the objects. Advice some best solutions you have been following to address such cases.We have too many duplicates created for the part with same geometry.   Thanks Murthi

Hi,   We are trying to implement split DNS-reverse proxy setup with Windchill 11 M020 clustered solution but it's not working for external users through DMZ, receiving "service unvailable" error for Windchill page. This works perfectly fine from inside our network.   Seems like there are some changes implemeted with new Apache/Tomcat that comes with Windchill 11 that could be case but not sure exactly what.   The exact setup worked with Windchill 10.1 M050.    Please share If anyone has implemented this with Windchill 11 OR any thoughts/suggestions on this will be really helpful.   Regards, Rajiv

Am in need of, 1. Create a Single level BOM of any WTPart and export it as PDF format 2. Create a WTDocument using above PDF file as primary content 3. Associate WTDocument to WTPart (mentioned in Step 1)   Step 2 and 3 are quite straight forward. But in Step 1, how to do I get PDF content stream at run time or how it would be downloaded particular location in server.   Note : All above 3 steps will be executed as process of WTPart work flow...

I found CS96881 which states you are not able to pass the context ID as an input parameter like you could in 9.1. Bummer since this allowed you to create reports and run them from within a product area and it only showed data from that contact.  Is this possible in any other way? I would accept a context lookup field like the "Change Notice Log" report. Something that users can run that autoselects the contex that they are in by default and runs with that as a condition.
