I am in need of a resource for workflow code writing? We are on Windchill PDMLink 11, M020 Nothing very complicated. On a CR, I need a bit of code that would: If primaryBusinessObject = INWORK then set sate UNDERREVIEW, else do nothing.   Any item on a CR that is submitted that is in a In Work state should be set to Under Review. If it's not in a state of In Work then do nothing to that item. I would then also need to back that out again on a rework loop. If its Under Review then set to In Work, if its anything else then do nothing to that item.  

Hi everyone, we regularly have a problem when trying to zip a Windchill delivery for sending to a Supplier. The error message states "The delivery ZIP file could not be created because one or more objects were deleted during the process". Retrying the operation has no effect. By increasing the logging level, you get the following exception in the MethodServer log: wt.access.NotAuthorizedException: ATTENTION: Secured Action. You do not have the necessary authorization for this operation. Discussing the problem with PTC Support, it seems that this problem is caused by either the User not having the Package Creator role (which they do have in our case), or that a related WTPart object is checked out to a Designer, making it inaccessible to the zip process. We are only interested in sending the EPMDocument to the Supplier and thus filter the parts out in the delivery.   My questions are: 1. Has anyone with the Package Creator role ever come across this issue? 2. In our situation, it i

Logic for calculating the compliance verdict is too strict for some business needs.  Specifically, having one or more supplier parts with no data, when there are one ore more supplier parts with a Pass status, does not mean the company part is a Partial Fail, or the BOM is a Fail.  In reality, it is just partially unreported.   Ability to configure this for a company's needs would be a very useful enhancement.  Currently we need to do this via customization outside of WPA.

So far the WPA solutions from PTC have been addressing the changes in REACH candidate list SVHC which changes every six months (in June and Dec) . However there is no spec update happening for REACH Authorization(annexure XIV) and Restricted(Annexure XVII) and the last spec update shows 2014 though there have been many updates from ECHA since then. Many of the customers have been asking for compliance to Authorisation and Restricted list .Please let us know the roadmap for release for specs for REACH Authorization(annexure XIV) and Restricted(Annexure XVII). This have become a critical requirement from the industry now . Would like to hear from other OEMs and EMS companies who use WPA on this topic as well.

I'm in the process of testing an upgrade to Windchill 11.  In my test environment that is hosting the test Windchill 10.2 environment, I went backwards to a point in time on my virtual servers that I needed to do something from again.  However, Windchill will not start up now.  I get the following error in my logs.  Any ideas as to how to fix?  I've gone backwards before and have never had an issue.   (wt.services.servicesResource/21) wt.services.ManagerException: Unable to start manager: "wt.audit.AuditService" with implementation class: "wt.audit.StandardAuditService"Nested exception is: wt.services.ManagerException: Could not initialize Auditing service.Nested exception is: wt.util.WTException: (wt.federation.PrincipalManager.PrincipalManagerResource/CONFIG_ERROR_INCORRECT_NAMING_PROVIDER) com.infoengine.util.IEException: Info*Engine configuration error -  The default Directory Service Provider URL and/or Service Search Base could not be retrieved

Currently many of the resistors we have in our WPA database are failing REACH (compliance status on manufacturer part information page) because the manufacturer lists Lead Monoxide and Diboron Trioxide, two frits that go into the glass passivation, in the substance data they have submitted.  While we have pressured them to change their data by replacing the reactants with the products, they are reluctant as there is no CAS# that correctly fits their case. So the parts comply with REACH in that there is no Lead Monoxide in the part, just leaded glass, but the data we have on file indicates a failure to comply.  We have other parts that have similar issues, for instance plastics that use Phthalates as a polymerization agent that is consumed in the reaction, or places where the vendor lists solvents that are volatilized once the material is applied.   We do not want to edit our supplier's data because we view it as a legal document, and many of our suppliers do not want to

I was asked to look into moving to a sso for Windchill PDMLink 10.2 with Active Directory. I found information suggesting that JNDI adapter would make this possible. Does anyone know of issues that would prevent us from moving towards sso in this configuration? Is anyone curently using this configuration in their enviroment?   Thank you,    

Does anyone know if it's possible to get Creo View to display alias attributes?  I have created a master attribute on the CAD Document Master object and then mapped it with an alias attribute to the CAD Document object.  It performs just like I would expect inside Windchill and the value does show up on the CAD object's detail's page.  Unfortunately, when viewing inside Creo View, this alias attribute is not listed.  Is there something I can modify in either Windchill or Creo View so it will show up?  If not, is there some other way to have a master attribute show up that doesn't involve using alias attributes (similar to how "name", "number", and "filename" work?)

Hi folks,   We're starting our attempt to setup a reverse proxy solution with our windchill 10.2 / 11 envorments .   Does anyone have any pointers or experience setting this up with PING?I've glanced through the advanced configuration guide but looks to be a bit vague.    It appears I need to pass on the REMOTE_USER header value over to my windchill application.  If you have any steps, configuration examples, etc it would be quite helpful as this is our first attempt on this and we do not have experience in this area so we're trying to figure it out.Architecture would look something like this: client > reverse proxy load balancer > reverse proxy > windchill load balancer > application server

I have a problem report with multiple change requests associated with it. Is there any way to modify Synch robo in Problem report to make it wait untill all the change requests are resolved ?

I've been using Pro/Engineer for 562 years, but Windchill is new to me.... still have trouble not thinking like folders and subfolders.I create a new part and drawing offline, i.e., on my hard drive or on the company server. The drawing has a format with title block, etc. We have this format on the company server (i.e. a drive letter), but the definitive version with the same name is on Windchill. If, when the part and drawing is complete, I check them in to Windchill, what happens to the format file? Does it load up as well? I don't want that to happen. What I want is, next session that I open that drawing (from Windchill) I want the format to come from Windchill, not from the drive.

It would be a great feature to have it it was successful, and we didn't have to deal with time consuming work arounds.  Even after we set applicability to parts that don't have compliance, the report is missing data, and the XML doesn't import into a builder.  If anyone has had luck, please share your secret.   If no one has luck, is there interest to have this report work?

Is there any way to automatically update out of date objects in a Windchill Project? For our use case, it would help if there would be an option to update Projects automatically when objects are modified PDMLink. The only two options I know about are manual or scheduled updates (which I believe is new in Windchill 11). We're currently on Windchill 10.1 but are migrating to Windchill 11 soon.     An option on the PDMLink Check In and Revise screens could also help.     Or have the ability to update in Project Objects from Project Workspaces?    

Does anyone know if there is a way to grant access to users to allow them to create, edit, update effecitivity? What is the object in the ACL? Out of the box it is the Product and Library manager.Thanks for your help!Jen

Little help with this please. Anyone know why a given Role (in this case Change Administrator) is able to modify the CR team in all the Product containers except one and not any Library? I have all my access Policy controls set at Org level including Team object (Ready, Modify). The Actions per role on the team page are also the same for each location?

Hi All,I am able to create Custom app on the PTC Navigate landing page, but the app is only available for Administrator. I am not able to find the Edit Icon for the Custom apps to Tailor for the Users. Can any one help me in bringing the Edit Icon for Custom app? Is their any documentation available to bring the Edit Icon and Tailoring Mashup that helps to Tailor app for the User Groups as functionality available for default Navigate Apps?

I have been tasked with installing CATIA CAA RADE V5-6R2016 SP3 on a client's machine. I've installed VS (Visual Studio) 2008 SP1 and VS 2012 Update 4 with hotfixes, as suggested in Dassault Systemes' (publisher of CATIA) program directory:   But, I am unable to integrate RADE into Visual Studio. Could it have anything to do with the parenthetical statements in the second column: "CRT and MFC Redistributables are delivered with V5 media..."? What are CRT and MFC distributables? Hopefully the below will make sense.    Problem When a design is started the CAD object (EPMdoc) is given a sketch number (SK) and initially checked in at revision 0.0 at WIP release level (state) and a COGpart (wtdocument) is automatically created. While the design progresses, it is checked in and the iteration is increased.   When the design is ready to be sent outside of the business, the revision is set to A.0 and set state is used to change the state to PROTOTYPE.   Revise is used to change the state back to WIP (revision B) so changes can be made. When the design is ready for release to Manufacturing it is renamed to a Made Part (MP) number. Set state is used to change the state to WIP for RELEASE and revise is used to change to revision 1.0 (Prototype parts have alphabetical revisions and Production parts have numeric revisions and the WIP for Release state is used to change from alpha to numerical revision sequences).      Part no.
