Windchill

I'm working on a migration from ProI 3.4 M062 to Windchill. Unfornately I don't seem to have the PTC Oracle Software Assistant CD or software image and am trying to build a clean tet install of 3.4 to practice the migration on.   Does anyone have a copy of this (it is actually probably the M060 version of the OSA) lying around and could upload it somewhere I can download it? Dear Windchill Gurus,Our company is going to consolidate the old Windchill 10.1 on Linux and Windchill 9.1 on windows server to a consolidated platform.  But we need to choose between staying with the 10.1 with the latest Maintenance build or a higher version.Is there a reliable version with good customer satisfaction rate so far after 10.1?   I heard the Cloud solution is not that good.Thanks!Jerry

  I need a way to send informations about our products changes to multiple clients (external mails) using the Package Delivery feature with using blind copy (bcco) one client can`t see the others mails in the list.    The impact is that each time our engineers need to comunicate our client is that they need to create more than 200 package for that. Anyone have a solution for that or a  way to send bcco using Windchill and keep the traceability?   Thanks!

Is there a configuration to hide system views for Vendors? we would like provide pre-defined limited number of views to External Vendors and hide all other system views.

I use the SOAP api with Windchill 10.0 to create a custom interface and do some automated stuff.I can do queries now and a navigation through the folders. But now I want to do changes to the lifecycle state of an object. My understanding is that I need to use ApplyService for that. But if I try that, it only gives me an Internal Server Error which is a NullPointer exception in the shell on the Windchill server.If someone could give me a working example of ApplyService or, even better, something to set a new lifecycle state, that would be really helpfull for me.Thanks in advance,martin

I have a requirement where third party system is going to place a file on the shared directory. I need to pick the file in hourly basis and update the values in windchill WTPart.Could you please let me know is there any job scheduler supported in windchill?

I haven't seen a list of options specifically for Creo Parametric publishing workers, so I thought I would post the options I use and ask for feedback.Some of these options could be outdated. We first started using Windchill at version 9.0 with Pro/Engineer WF 4 content. I usually scan the options for changes as I update Creo Parametric (Pro/E) on the worker machines to make sure they are still valid, but the list of options grows larger and larger. It would be easy to miss some important changes.Also, some of these options only work with newer versions of Creo Parametric, like 3.0. I recently added windows_browser_type = chromium_browser since it is the supported browser packaged with the application. Setting this option helps avoid IE settings that could cause problems or could be updated automatically without my knowledge through Windows group policy.I would really like to hear from others on this. When upgrading to SQL Server 2012, one of the steps is Full-text Upgrade.  There are three options: Import, Rebuild and Reset.  Can I use Reset, which deletes full-text catalogs or does Windchill use full-text catalogs so that I should choose one of the other options?

I want to get thingworx logged in user ufid from Windchill. I created an Infoengine task for WTUser to get the user unique identifier (ufid). I am wondering if I can use any out of the box Windchill connector services to get this information.   thanks, Preeti

So I've been racking my brain since march, and literally no valuable help from PTC on this issue, but I need some input from the community at this point.  We've had a case open with PTC for 68 days and still no fix...Environment:Windows Server 2012R2Windchill 11.0 M020 (also tried with M030) OOTB-Apache 2.4 (bundled version)Server (& AD Domain Controller) has policies that require contact to AD/DC to be NTLMv2 only.Certificates are properly imported into Keystore & to the TRCA on the machineFollowed CS62326.This configuration works perfectly with our production environment Windows Server 2008R2 / WC 10.2 M030 / Apache 2.2.I am racking my brain here....Any of you using Server 2012R2 & WC 11.0 yet? We are working with "Creo NC Manufacturing" module, we are able to generate .cl,.mbx,.lst,tl1..etc files at local machine (say desktop). But when working with "Creo NC Manufacturing" along with WINDCHILL,same files are not generated in windchill worksapce. please guide is there any settings needed in windchill preference.

I have recently been doing a lot of testing and learning in Windchill. Having no real training, and being tasked to solve a number of problems for our business units has led to me making some mistakes and having to fix them. Of course all of this is happening on our production server as well, because we don't have a test server. I've now caused one issue that I cannot figure out how to fix.I believe that by using Set for Build, I have pushed the WTPart structure to the CAD Structure. This results in all of my models being removed from my assemblies when I open them. I need to reverse this and force the CAD Structure to populate the WTPart structure. How do I do this? I find myself getting confused about which way information is being pushed in the Compare CAD to WTPart and Compare WTPart to CAD windows, and I'm truly just fumbling around trying to learn (which I have learned a ton) since I cannot find good training information.Thank you.

After generating an MBOM in MPM link I wish to move parts within the lower levels and not have them in part number order.Does anybody know if this is possible and how it is done, is it just a configuration/set up issue?Many thanks, Dale.

Again, very late to the PDMLink 10 party here ... In PDMLink 9 there was an option to open all files when ProductView was launched. This meant that components for assemblies opened upon launch rather than having to manually click a radio box to load them.Does anyone know if there is a way to achieve the same thing in PDMLink 10 / Creo View? Seems a little silly to me not to auto load the files. If I clicked on an assembly visualization then chances are really good I wanted to actually load it and see it.
