In removing Windchill Bulk Migrator 2.2, on a Windchill 10.1 M040 system, the method servers wouldn't start after performing all steps listed in the Uninstall guide and CS218083. Review of the logs indicated additional failures relating to MigrationSourceSite, of which I recognized those values from the descendentRegistry.properties and modelRegistry.properties files. Removal of these values allowed the MethodServers, foreground and background, to start. Maybe add the following steps to the support ticket? From descendentRegistry.properties, also remove: fc.WTObject=com.ptc.windchill.migration.wbm.fc.MigrationSourceSite From modelRegistry.properties, also remove: com.ptc.windchill.migration.wbm.fc=MigrationSourceSite
Greetings, We are on V11, M020. My Doc Control group is able to modify the Members on the Change Team on a Change Notice but I do not see the same ability on a Variance. Anyone know how to provide that ability.
I'm in the process of importing a large number of manufacturers and manufacturer parts to Windchill, and am using LoadFromFile. There were some problems when I initially loaded the organizations and suppliers into our development system, so I foolishly thought I could easily wipe out that data and try it again to correct those problems. That was not the case. I deleted all the suppliers and then deleted the organizations using the participant administrator (removed from cache and then deleted from Windchill and Windchill Directory Server). Somehow, there's still one organization hanging around somewhere, and I can't figure out where or how to completely get rid of it. I was able to load all the other organizations again without a problem, but I keep getting this error for one organization: createWTOrganization: wt.pom.UniquenessException: A datastore uniqueness constraint violation has occurred on the following objects.Remote Object Info - RemoteObjectInfo: D
So we figured out how to remove the Default Change Activity because we create our own from various types and create the Change Name. In 9.1 we had this removed, and if we started the change notice from the object, it would still populate in our new change task on the affected objects. Where do I edit to get the object to populate on the affected objects table in 11.0 after removing the default change task? Also I noticed the order of the Change Task subject is displayed different. We prefer the Change Name, Type, Number rather than Type, Number, and Name in the subject. Is there a preference setting to switch this back? Thanks.
I am working on defining the requirements for an onsite collector for Creo Performance Advisor. So Far I have Enable every user to connect to an onsite collector enabling only one connection back to PTC Enable the ability to not show UUID for internal gadgets Provide control over what data is sent to PTC - aka allow administrators to send minimal information I am saying the minimal information sent to PTC will be as follows PRODUCT DATA SCN Release MOR Date Code License Name Graphics Mode Locale License Type PROCESSING XML_NAME Date Time UUID USER INFO Host Name User Name Domain Name SOFTWARE INFO DISK(S) APPLICATION Default Browser name / vendor / version
In Windchill 10.2 the Subject (PBO) is above the Instructions section. In Windchill 11.0 the Subject (PBO) is below the deadline. We would like to move it back up to above the Instructions. I'm trying to figure out what is controlling the configuation. Our workflow tasks are set to use JPS (Default). I have found another post indicated that if the workflow task activity is set to use JPS the Task Info Page Layout from the Work Item object in the Type and Attribute Management is used. When I look at the Task Info Page Layout, the Subject is in the correct locations. I have also looked at the Task From Templates (default JSP), but I don't have an JSP editor to test moving the Subject (PBO). I have also opened a call with PTC, but they told me I would have to talk to the customization team. I have attached some screen shots.
So, I have a couple of baselines of a CAD Doc structure that were taken just prior new revisions of many objects being created (new revs were created the same day, about two hours after the baselines were created). When going back and looking at the baseline after, the baselines are showing the new versions of the revised CAD Docs. Anyone familiar with baselines care to guess what we might have done wrong?
Anyone know how to generate this report?I want to know in what contexts and under what roles a group is used?Would like to have the same report given a user's name?
Hello all, I am trying to write a code that can open an EPM Document in CREO through Windchill Workgroup Manager so that I can download the file with proper links because contentwriter is removing leading zeroes from the .prt number , due to which the links with the drawing are not coming properly and I am not able to open the downloaded .prt file in CREO .If anyone has faced this issue can he/she tell me the solution .
We are preparing the way to implement Windchill and Creo 2.0 in our business but I (possibly we) are struggling to understand the best way to proceed ref autonumbering. We've been storing cad models and corresponding drawing files with the same filename (less extension obviously) so that doing a "Save as" in creo creates a new model and drawing pair (given appropriate config.pro settings). With autonumber turned on in windchill doing a "save as" in windchill on a drawing and model pair creates a drawing and model with different numbers albeit they are dependant objects. The filenames we'd set to be the same as the numbers and so are also different. If a "save as" is done in Creo 2 with the same model and drawing pair where the drawing and model have different autocreated "numbers" creo doesn't treat the files as a pair i.e. we've lost a chunk of the "save as" functionality within Creo 2.0 .This is making it feel like autonumber in windchill and "Save as" in creo are incompatible if we're
I'm working on my first test upgrade from Windchill 10.2 to 11.0. We use SQL Server as our database. I'm on the Update Database Schema phase and task. I have a question about that how much drive space do I need for the SQL tempdb. Do I need to have as much room as the size of the database? I have the drive at about half the size and it filled up that drive to 99.9% and after that happened the CPU spiked and so did the RAM.
Hi I have a problem that is pending for 2 weeks now, and I can't find the cause of it. I have a call to a method inside a java expression that looks like this; The method executes and I see results in the bg method server but when the method terminates it gives next error; I am sure I am returning a String. obsResult is defined as a Java string in the properties of the Approval process. What can be the cause of this error, please help ?
Hi Everyone, I need to get the container name in th format of string in my OIR to set some custom attribute. The attribute "containerReference" does not exactly equal to the container name as we use wtContainerRef.getName(); to get this. Can any one tell how to get this? <AttrValue id="view.id"> <Value algorithm="wt.rule.algorithm.BooleanBranch"> <Value algorithm="wt.rule.algorithm.StringEqualsTest"> <Attr id="containerReference"/> <Arg>Test Product</Arg> </Value> <Arg>YES</Arg> <Arg>NO</Arg> </Value> </AttrValue>
We changed the lifecycle of objects through New Promotional Requests.Initially, the new promotional request went smoothly. If you made the second upgrade request, access was denied and access denied.Requests for new promotions with the product manager will work smoothly. Why is not a member requesting a second promotion?
I am working on an upgrade from Windchill10.0 mo40 running on Oracle 11g I would like to upgrade to Windchill 11.0 m030 running on Oracle 12c. Do I need to do anyjthing special to do this or will the Upgrade Manager handle all of the updates to Windchill and the Oracle schema?
I have a difficult problem I'm trying to solve. We have multiple orgs in our Windchill installation. They represent different business units in our company. However, 2 of the orgs are now entering a joint venture to release new product. And I'm struggling to figure out how to best accomodate this in both Windchill and our ERP system. We are using ERP Connector - not the full-blown ESI. If I haven't lost you, and you're still reading: Currently, each organization has their own default distribution target. The output file from each org is very similar. Both files are read by our ERP software. But there are a few small differences, such as attributes. There is also 1 key piece of information that each distrubtion target places in the file ... which is read by the ERP middleware. That is how the ERP knows which organization to put the Windchill data. But in this case - a joint venture - I need the data to
I have modeled a gearbox casing which consist of three different sub assemblies(Top, Middle and bottom which was modeled in TOP-DOWN approach) composed of fabricated steel plates using CREO-2.0 for structural analysis. I have provided fastener connection between these three sub assemblies. In each sub assemblies, I have used weldment feature for joining the different plates(It is also defined under simulate menu). During meshing(AutoGEM) I'm geting 4 errors in the diagnostics tab as following. 1. Creo Simulate removed some small curves from the model. The removal tolerance is set from the Geometry Tolerance dialog box (AutoGEM > Geometry Tolerance). Fewer curves are removed if you decrease the Minimum Curve Dimension value. 2. AutoGEM may not be able to complete because the volume boundaries either intersect or overlap near the highlighted surfaces 3. The ratio of the thickness to the radius of curvature is too large for the highlighted surface(s). The thickness multipl
Hi All, Can anyone provide me documentation to create Tailoring Mashup for the custom apps on Navigate. So, that i can provide access of custom apps to the Manufacturing, Purchasing groups in Thingworx. I am able to get Edit icon, but i don't have Tailoring mashup to provide access to Purchasing and Manufacturing groups as we do for default Navigate Apps. Regards, N.Sivaram.
Hi All, We have few users in windchill DS and users were working with these ID's.Later customer configured Active directory.Active directory Id and Windchill Ds id's are different. Now is there any way that we can map all the data created using windchill Ds id to Active directory user ID. These are the scenarios exist. 1) Windchill Ds user id has some records and AD user id doesnt have any records. 2) Windchill Ds user id doesnt have records and AD user id have records. 3)Both user id's has data. Please help if anyone has idea. Thanks, Venkat
I am working in ProjectLink and just did a large-scale "send to PDM" which included objects checked out from PDM and objects created in the project. In PDMLink, I did a change request to "approve" them, then revised them. Then, I went and updated the now-out-of-date objects in Project. The problem now is, when I browse a folder (which is related to how I would like to "convert to PDM checkout"), I see the old version I sent and the new version. If I have any "old" versions, my "convert to PDM checkout" fails. Can I fix it? Is there a way I can avoid this in the future?
We recently had a consultant update our two worker machines to Creo 4.0 and CV Adapters (latest). They decided to delete everything and start fresh. Great except we are having issues with colors on drawings. The thumbnail used to show up with white background and black text/model (top)....now looks like this (bottom). How do I restore monochrome publishing? Note when you open the drawings in Creo View they are correct - both are monochrome. Thanks, Greg
This should be in the windchill questions area. @Tmetcalf can move the question there.
We perform engineering servicing for a specific customer as well as our own internal development. The design control starts within our system through the development and prototyping phase, after which design control transfers to the customer and data we keep is just for manufacturing of future orders. We are still noobs in the windchill world, we have gone live with our internal designs but are looking to bring customer development online as well. We have considered using a different WTPart subclass to represent the customer data so that it stands out that it is different. We are already placing the data in separate product contexts. The other thought we had was to have an attribute, that when design control transfers we change. In general we are looking for some best practice from users who have dealt with this situation already. Thank you for your consideration.
I am trying to determine if this is a Solidworks issue or a Windchill issue. We use Work Group Manager to manage our Solidworks files in PDMLink 10.2 m030 - randomly, when a Solidworks part file is placed into a workspace to check in to PDMLink, it becomes "Read only" and cannot be opened to modifyThe odd thing is in workspace, the icon for this part is different from the normal icon used for a solidworks part:as opposed to:Normal solidworks part iconMy drafter has saved a copy of the part on his desktop, unchecked the "Read only" box, filed - then placed part back in workspace overwriting the "Read only" part, closed out, reopened the part and it reverts back to "read only". We have checked everything on the solidworks side, making sure the part is configured properly to keep it from being "Read only", so inquiring if anyone else has seen this happen with PDMLink Work Group Manager... any suggestions?
Is there a possibility to steer access rights (especially modify right to add or delete the linkage) for a linkage itself? For example having a document linked to a part...and the linkage itself needs own access rights. Use case is that a document link in one relation might be changeable by a specific group of persons but not in another. Like mandatory document linkage only editable by mech. engineer linked to a specific part in first case but in second case same document object is only a optional link that is editable by purchasing linked to another part object. Document itself is both times readable for all persons and article objects are editable...but linkage only editable based on specific role.
