Hello,We have a set of WTPart part number. We are unable to load them in Windchill as it gives an error message of "Uniqueness"; neither we can find (search) them in Windchill, so that we can delete the set and reload them or modify them.These WTPart part numbers were loaded in Windchill earlier as NLAG file type. Later the file try was changed to ZKIT file type. Once the file type was changed, the part numbers were vanished from the system. I am able to view the details through SQL query, but unable to locate them in Windchill and delete them.We change the part type with the process that are listed in the document number CS7287 (https://support.ptc.com/appserver/cs/view/solution.jsp?n=CS7287&posno=1&q=ChangeTypeSql&source=search).Please review and suggest.Thanks,Yogesh

We put all our engineering project documents in PDMLink and the majority stay at In Work.  However, there are a few of the documents that our group leaders manually sets the state to Approved.  They are analysis reports.  The reason we do this is so people outside of engineering can see them.  The group leader knows to set the state when the engineer sends them an email.  The problem is many times the group leader forgets to set the state of these documents.We have workflows set up for our CR's/CN's but not for documents.I am wondering if anyone else does something like this and if so how they handle it.  I know we could create workflows but we would have to get our partner company to create them.  I'm not saying we won't do that but I am looking for a better and simpler (less expensive) option.

Look at the following example of a document created in Windchill PDMLink:Looking at the history view at the bottom of the above image, a document was created by "User 1" on 2015-09-17 13:51 EDT at version A.1.  It went through a series of changes.  On 2016-05-06 09:23 EDT, a change administrator (User 2) revised the object as part of an ECN to make version C.1.  Then the document was checked out and changed, and checked back in once again on 2016-07-26 11:31 EDT by User 1 and then the document was released again.If you look at the details view for the current version (C.2), it lists the "Created By" user as User 2, on the date when C.1 was created.  This is not intuitive to the users, and we prefer to see the date of the A.1 version and the individual who created that version.  Is there a way to get "Created By" and "Created On" to reflect that?

Is it possible to export and import a process plan with operations out of and into Windchill.In order to get it from one server to another.

Windchill 10.1 M040. We have used a customized two level approval process/promotion request for years.  It works great.  Now the Engineering dept structure has changed.  I need to add a third level approval.  So I copied the two-level and modified to add the third level.  So far so good.  everything seems to work.  HOWEVER, I can't figure out how to change the text that shows up in the email notification that goes to the third level approver! Any workflow gurus out there willing to give me some direction?Where would I find the item highlighted in properties of the Level 3 approval above?  I've read through the workflow notifications customization but it doesn't seem to apply...Many thanks in advance.

Hello,does someone know if Czech language is available OOTB in the main modules of Windchill (PDMLink, ProjectLink, MPMLink, Supplier Management) and also for Creo.Regarding the chinese language, is that still an extra with Creo or is it now part of the OOTB at no additional cost ?Thanks a lotBest regards

We have so many exciting workflow email threads lately, I would like to throw this one out there as well...This is a very valid use case and asked many times in Alcon. I hope somebody has figured this out already.We would like to our users to put comments when they are revising (for example). When they select other vote Approve in the below screen shot, it should just let it go as is and completes the task. So the criteria is ..1) Check for the Voting option (Revise_CR)2) Look at the Comment Attribute and force it to be filled if empty[cid:image001.png@01CF5316.70B54EB0]Thanks,Preeti

We're creating new objects in ProjectLink in Windchill 10.1 and eventually those objects will need to be in PDMLink. However, the Send to PDM screen is causing some headaches:The Name field comes in empty even though that information is on the object in the Project.The object needs a location in PDMLink. When you do assign a location, the Name field resets which annoying if you just filled it it for a bunch of parts!Is there a way to set a default PDM location for new objects coming from a Project? Very minor compared to the 2 other issues above.Any ideas or settings we can change to fix some of these? Click on the picture to enlarge.

While I doubt there is a "supported" method, is there a way to delete a project container.Some of ours are in a mess. Some years back we installed a PTC patch to add functionality to project link and it caused total chaos. Breaking project templates and project containers.I have 3 project containers with the same name (3 separate ID's) but only one is visible in the UI.Another project which is not visible in UI at all.Several projects which don't function correctly, ghostly relics since adding the projectLink patch in the past.It would be nice to clean house and remove these troublesome projects if possible.Darren

Hello,I am using Windchill 10.2 M030. I want to change the version of CAD File. I have change the series according to and also added custom seed. Also selected appropriate seed for required state. But When I am changing the state it's version not changed. Suppose in Design state I want version DE1.1 & so on..  and in Prototype state i want PRT1.1. What configuration need to be done in order to achieve the Required version. Please Guide.

When I start Creo and access Windchill, the username/password dialog is pre-filled with thisEvery time, I have to remove the "MicrosoftAccount\" part to be able to log in. Even though "Remember my credentials" is checked, it "remembers" "MicrosoftAccount\<my email>" even though I use just "<my email>" to log in, without the "MicrosoftAccount\" part.Is there any way to fix this behavior and make it remember my credentials properly?If it's related, the main Microsoft account for my computer is the same email as I use with Windchill

When doing a copy to my development server, I noticed that one library context folder did not have any recent files in the vault where I would have thought these files would go.Is there anything OOTB in Windchill that can give me the OS file name of a file in Windchill?My Part Library goes to a vault location, but my Doc library vault has no new files. Are these files being stored as BLOBs in Oracle?Where is the file location defined for storing files created in Windchill? I am updating/revising an existing (already been released) family table. It has most of the dash numbers, but a few were created and released as stand alone parts. (Basically, -2, -3, -4, -8, -9, -10 are part of the family table and -5, -6, -7 are independent.) How can I merge these existing parts into the family table? Everything I've tried produces a naming error in the workspace.
