Disable the copyover from BOM Notes when the user executes a New Branch action to extend a BOM from one manufacturing site to another. After disabling propertie BOM Notes are still copying to new branch.Acording to PTC article https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS406143?&as=1 there is technical limitation for the BOM Notes update in Windchill 13.

Version: Windchill 12.1 Use Case: We are looking to add a new IBA (attribute) to WTPart and make it editable through the "Edit Common Attributes" action in Windchill PDMLink. The key requirement is that:. We do not want the part to be checked out.Description: We need to enable editing of a custom attribute added to the WTPartMaster object in Windchill PDMLink through the "Edit Common Attributes" action available in the UI. This is commonly used to update shared attributes across multiple versions of a part without checking out the part.Although the attribute has been successfully defined on the WTPartMaster using the Type and Attribute Management utility, it does not appear on the Edit Common Attributes page, and currently, there's no direct way to expose or make it editable from this interface.

We understood that the translation vector(positional shift) and rotation vector(orientation) is relative to its immediate parent assembly. However, we want to understand the attributes in CADBOM or columns in epmmemberlink table that represent the transformation values with respect to top-level assembly. In Teamcenter, this is represented by Absolute Transformation Matrix. Absolute Transformation Matrix Definiton : It represents the transformation from the component's local coordinate system to the global coordinate system of the top-level assembly. Version: Windchill 12.0 Use Case: I created a workspace for a new project and I opened an assembly in Creo (version 9) which was locally stored and saved as an assembly in a workspace in windchill. Then I created two drawings for two of the parts in the assembly and tried to check in my work.Description: When I want to check in my work and create an ECN for the drawings, the check in button is missing. The check out and undo check out button is there. Not sure why this happens now, since I've done it before. The same problem exists in other workspaces. The parts I recently saved are marked with the symbol "modifications need to be uploaded" I have tried uploading the local files and made sure they are located in a folder in the workspace. But I still dont have the check in button.  My colleagues cant see the parts i've saved in the workspace. I cant see it either when I open windchill online and try to create an ECN. Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: During the Windchill upgrade, we want to restrict the general user base from accessing the Windchill UI to prevent any unwanted changes.Description: We are upgrading to Windchill 13, and now that we are using Active Directory with Single Sign on, I am wondering what others are doing to restrict access to the UI to only an Admin group during the upgrade process?We are already filtering AD with a specific group to provide access to Windchill.Is it possible to add an additional filter without causing all the users to become disconnected?The only solution PTC had to offer was restricting UI access to only the server on which Windchill is installed.  This will hamper our upgrade as we would only be able to have one Admin at a time logged into the UI to perform specific activities, and we would need to hold off on any of our accounts that connect to 3rd party apps until the end. Looking for alternate ideas if possible.  I have to imaging

Hi all, this is my first experience with the software. I am currently learning the functions and utilities of the Windchill RBD. At the calculation page, I have been enabled Monte Carlo Simulation method. I am unable to achieve the simulated results. The results page display a message. I am able to obtain the failure rate for this example. It just unable to obtain the MTBF and MTTR of the overall system."All availabilities are operational availabilities. *Cannot be operated because the system will enter a failed state where it cannot be repaired"I read some of the guides including Getting Started Guide. We are able to create the problem report also the attachment is able to attach in that newly created Problem report. Hello,I'm trying to establish a validation mechanism for the Part Creation process. I have an attribute (Attribute1), that somehow should filter the valid options for the Part Classification tree. Specifically, I need to ensure that the selection made in the "Attribute1" dropdown aligns with the chosen value(s) in the Classification Tree. Although I understand Classifications don't inherently support cascading attributes, I'm looking for a method to achieve this cross-validation.I am aware that Windchill 12 allows you to create a namespace to manage the Classification tree by type/subtype, which already filters some of the Classification nodes, but it does not complete the validation I am looking to achieve. Any thoughts on how to implement this validation given the limitations of cascading attributes in Classifications? Has anyone solved a similar problem before?

Does the mapping process match the text to the predefined values in Windchill, or is there another method used?Description: Specifically, if there is a field like REACH in both Windchill and SiliconExpert, and I map and synchronize this field, will the value from SiliconExpert be written exactly the same way in Windchill?Additionally, what happens if the field in Windchill is a list with predefined values, and the value in SiliconExpert is text?
