Hi,   I have a Beam idealization helt at three points, at the ends and in the middle. I then perform a modal analysis on this. All is fine. Assuming the hold point in the middle (in real life) fails such that the analysis shows a lower first mode in say Y direction and thus higher displacement. However, the beam, in real life, is restricted such that it can be displaced in the +Y direction, but will "hit" something in the -Y direction and thus not be allowed to move there. How do I simulate this? I was thinking first with a spring, but how can it be restricted such that it doesn't affect the beam when it is on the +Y side and fully stops it when the beam is on the -Y side? Maybe there is a better way of doing this?   Thanks

Hello,   When using the Fluid Analysis i always get the message "Residual is NaN!" after pressing execute (the green Flag). Anyone knows how to solve that problem?   Regards, Andreas

I'm hoping someone can help me with this...I'm fairly new to Creo simulate... I am trying to simulate a rotating clip. (See attached picture.)  I have a component that is fixed and I've created my contact interface between the the fixed component and rotating component.  The rotating component is fixed in all translation planes and fixed in the Y and Z  axis, only allowed to rotate about the X.  I have put a value of -4 degrees to rotate the component past the snap.  I'm getting an error and I can't seem to see what I'm missing.  Hopefully someone has an answer..thank you in advance...  

I'm using a Lenovo Thinkpad T430s running Windows 7 Enterprise, Service Pack 1. I installed Creo, build 110. Everything seemed to go fine. Hello,   I have a simple mechanism with no interference and I had defined a 3D contact on it. I run the simulation and the "funny" thing is that in my simulation, I input a load of 14.7 N, after the simulation due to the 3D Contact I end with a Normal Reaction Force of 23.76 N. My question is the following: How is possible that a force of 14.7 N creates a bigger force? What could be the error?   The error is bigger if I want to export this to simulate! I end with a +500 N Force!     My question in general terms is: What could be the cause of this? What can I be doing wrong in my mechanism that the only and unique force that I create, "creates" at the same time a QUITE bigger force?   Thank you for your answers and opinions!

I'm trying to analyse a shaft with various components assembled on it.   One of those is a nut, which I've represented by a simple part, with a bore which sits on the OD of the 'thread' location on the shaft.  The 'nut' bore sits entirely within the shaft thread OD surface; they have equal diameters and are concentric (assembled using these surfaces).   I've set the default interface to Free, and created a Bonded interface between the two parts.  There are Contact interfaces between other pairs of parts.   When I run the analysis it reports "Some connections between surfaces have been ignored" and highlights the Bonded interface.  It provides this link: http://support.ptc.com/help/archive/creo30/creo_pma/usascii/index.html#page/simulate/simulate/modstr/connects/reference/guide_surf_surf_fem.html which is no help whatsoever.  The analysis then fails because it's insufficiently constrained... because it's decided to ignore one of my boundary conditions!

1. using parts supplied in differential_parts (STEP for those who do not have CREO 5) 2. assemble the model using mechanism joints.  (use pitch diameter 13mm for pinions and 35mm for ring gear) 3. prove with input on drive shaft that "tires" move together. 4. lock a tire and prove opposite tire moves with input on drive shaft. 5. answer questions: How do you flip a gear pair running the wrong direction?  Can one gear connect twice using gear connections without a redundancy?  What analysis type has a check for DOF (degrees of freedom)?  How many DOF should the model have?   solution in differential_solution for CREO5.

Hi,   I am running a modal analysis of some componentes on PTC CREO Simulate. But the results produced by the simulation are only the natural frequencies (eigenvalues) and a graphic representation of the natural modes.   However I need a matrix with the eigenvectors of the problem. I am sure that there is a routine inside the Simulate that produces this information (otherwise, how could the program display a graphic representation of the modes?). Do anyone know if it's possible to extract the numerical matrix from the simulation analysis?   Thank you!

Make rotate the follower connected to cam in clock wise direction for some angle continued with anti clockwise direction The curve on cam is such a way that that the follower has to rotate clockwise first for some distance of curve followed by anti clockwise. Is there any benchmark for a elasto-platic material or even a Hyperelstic material.It will be interesting to see accurancy which this two material models with real or even software comparation study (mechanical-ansys or mechanical abaqus etc..)Could be possible from somebody in PTC to give me an anwser about it?.-Let see how many in PTC gives an anwser about it..---
