Hi,I am using creo 8 with windchill 12. I have multiple drawings where I run a model check, and get the error "Highlighted dimensions can not be regenerated". However, there are no dimensions on the drawing that are highlighted! This error prevents me from proceeding with a promotion request. Any ideas on how to understand what dimensions are causing issues? Thanks
I get frustrated when I enter an mapkey incorrectly (either by typing something wrong or having typed a random letter some time before typing the mapkey I intended), wait for the expected action not to happen, then look down to the status bar to look at the mapkey string that I actually typed (which may have disappeared by then), and then have to hit backspace or enter to start over / clean up the mapkey. I would love to force the typed letters to match existing mapkeys in session and timeout after a few seconds. If a mapkey string didn't match an existing mapkey in session, or a few seconds after a letter was typed without completing an existing mapkey in session, the typed letters entry / input string would clear (as if "Enter" was typed). Is there a setting that will prevent typing an incorrect or nonexistent mapkey? Is there a setting that will clear the mapkey entry after a certain timeout period? Alternatively is there a way for a script to read what the current en
What date codes of SolidWorks can be opened in Creo 7.0.5.0 with Unite? Basically, I would like to utilize Solidworks data in a Creo 7.0.5.0 assembly and am searching for SolidWorks data code compatibility.
Hi, I'm trying to use the Visual Basic API to create a drawing with a custom template, but I'm getting the error message: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: 'pfcExceptions::XToolkitNotFound' The line of code on which I get the error message is: Dim drawing As IpfcDrawing = session.CreateDrawingFromTemplate(Mdl.CommonName, "D-CUSTOM", Mdl.Descr, drwnCreateOptns) I tried changing the template to an out of the box template and that works, so it has to be the custom template, is there anything I'm missing?
I'm wondering if this is a bug in Creo (I'm using 9.0.1.0), or if I have mistakenly set a stupid settings... I can't seem to create offset curves in the manner that I've been for decades. What I consider standard process to make an offset is: (1) Select a chain of curves, either one by one or with the chain selection (shift-select). (2) When I'm done selecting curves, an arrow shows me the direction of the offset. (3) I enter a value and I now have a chain of offset curves, comprised of individual curves corresponding to each of the curves I selected in step (1) What I'm seeing this afternoon is what's shown in the image. I can kind of pick a chain, but the offset curve it creates is a single curve, no matter how many entities are used, and I can't access individual entities in the curve (i.e. delete an unneeded curve in the chain so it can be replaced, or trim a curve with another entity, etc.). Is there a setting I inadvertantly toggled that activates this type of behavior? I
How can I solve this problemI use prime 9
Hi, Is it possible to create an automated techincal drawing process in Creo Parametric. I am designing a lot of sheet parts and I don't need to give detail but in drawing I have to give maximum dimensions for sheet part. If there is a way to do it automated. It will save me a lot of time. I mean with just one click or a combination I just want to create front view and right view for a flat sheet part.I am doing it with mapkey but still have to give dimensions manually. Thanks in advance -Enes
Hello everyone, based on positive gqo values in q, i want to store the values in Res in the program a.And get the result of 'a' as the length of RA.How can i do itattached the Mathcad 10 file.
Hi I have a set of values that varies along with elevation. I need help plotting the function but can't figure out how to proceed. I have described my issue in the attached file (prime 7). Thank you very much for your support.
Im trying to plot, lifetime as a funct. of doping, and abs. coefficient as a function of wavelength. I've looked up some videos and good instructions from this Solved: How to produce a log based range variable or plot ... - PTC Community but I have a problem getting the plot to show while defining the range correctly, ie, units for the start and stop, adding steps. I can pull it up with python but not with Mathcad and I can't find out why. thank you, Thank you,
Does anyone know how to download Mathcad (.xmcd) files from Windchill using Chrome/Edge so that they can be opened in Mathcad? In Windchill, when I try to download a .xmcd file in a modern browser (Chrome, Edge) it automatically opens it in the browser in XML with the following error message displayed at the top: "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below." The workaround right now is just to use IE, however with IE going out of fashion we need it to work in modern browsers such as Edge and Chrome. Thanks, Lawrence ------------------------------- I started a new thread because the only other related one I found is about 9 years old: xmcd-Files in browsers - PTC Community
Hi,I have several problems with the Modernized Project/Offset Tools in Sketcher of Creo 9.0.0.0.I wish I could go back to the old command present in creo 8.0...I explain what the problems are: PROBLEM 1:In creo 9.0.0.0 the project / offset tool does not generate the arc centers of a loop. PROBLEM 2:After using the command I would like to be able to select specific segments and arcs generated with the Project / Offset command and then perhaps mirror them, but with the new command it is no longer possible ... all entities are selected as a group, is there a way to explode them? PROBLEM 3:The "Delete Segment" command is NOT ABLE to recognize the segments defined by a project / offset loop of a curve with intersections on the segments and references.P.S. Notice the yellow dots that delimit the recognized segments. PROBLEM 4:I would like my arc to have the same radius value as the arc of the offset chain, but the program does not allow me to set the constraint beca
Hi everyone! I'm sharing with you this worksheet hoping it will help you extract moments, forces and supports reactions from the continuous beam (>=2 spans) for further beam design according the codes you use. Please let me know if you find errors or want to improve the code (calculation time is around 1 min for a 5-spans beam). Alvaro Gavilán (edited 30-09-19: tolerance adjusted in 9. Hello all, I am trying to create, redefine many features using creo toolkit. I refer toolkit user guideline document (tkuse) and object toolkit document to get idea about methods. Is it the only document which can be refered to get idea of methods defined in toolkit api and does it contain all the information required? I just want to know if I am missing out some methods which are not defined in this documents.
Hello Community, how are you?Can anyone tell me how to create a simp rep from holes I made in an assembly? I need to hide the holes I made in the assembly and I tried simp rep, but it only lets me exclude parts and not characteristics. Has anyone done something similar? Thanks!!!
I'm running into an issue with Shrinkwrap where no matter what settings are used it always deletes the faces in screw heads where the tool would fit in. Is there something I'm missing that would make Shrinkwrap catch those faces without having to go through and select each individual one on all of them? The purpose is to send out gutted assemblies for the purpose of a 3rd party to make photo realistic images for marketing so having missing faces/parts is not ideal. See below for example of what's happening.
This has been a nuisance for some time, but ... If I evaluate a nested array, the matrix navigator seems to have little effect, sometimes nested arrays won't resize, and there doesn't seem to be a way to resize all of the elements at once ... not a happy state of affairs for large arrays. Mathcad Express 7.0 worksheet attached. Stuart
Hi,I have slow problems with the ModelChek. The slowness is due to the action of the antivirus.I would like to be able to exclude ModelCheck from the antivirus action by excluding its execution file or the folder where it is contained, but I have not found one or the other.Could you help me?Thank you.P.S. I use Creo 9.0.2.0
Dear PTC Community,i am designing a radiator, and therefore i would like to makes a pattern of the fins.i understand that a pattern with over 500 members takes some computing time and peromance. However, the pattern takes an eternity (5mins) to regenerate but my computer is not at all at its limits (see picture).i am working on a windows 11 pro and creo 9.0.9.0(Arbeitsspeicher means RAM)
Hi guys, I was looking to get a Simulation license, but was curious about the thermal expansion capabilities and how it works. Ideally, I want to model thermal expansion in parts and assemblies, and have instances of them at different temperatures, and therefore different sizes. Is this possible to do in Thermal mode? Thanks Tom
This may sound trivial, but is there any way to check whether the size of a bolt is correct for the hole it is assembled to? For example, if we assemble an M4 into an M3 hole, there will be interference (could be checked with global interference). What if we mistakenly assemble an M3 into an M4 hole? Is there any way to detect it automatically? Thank you in advance.
I would like to transfer information by the functions that I use in my 3D on plans, let me explain. For example when I place a chamfer on a hole, I would like an annotation to automatically appear on its plane (the best would be directly with an arrow but if it was noted in a corner it would already be great) I know how to use the macro, the relation, the model parameter ... but even with everything that I cannot find (the solution I see would be to go through the PRO license of creo which I do not have 😕 ) thanks in advance
I have a model that is in essence a rectangle with and elliptical surface on one side (this is representative of a flat plate that rotates a specified amount of degrees in the X axis). I am now wanting to rotate this 360 degrees (along the Y-Axis, ROTATE_CENTER, shown below)to create a full on 360 degree swept volume so I can understand the full volume this will occupy in the real world. Any suggestions on how to achieve this?
Is there a way to add tolerances or limits to hole notes via the hole file? Or have it show on the drawing after adjusting the tolerance to the feature within creo? For example, I am using &TAP_DEC to call out the decimal value of the tap drill diameter. The value is .397 but has a range from .396-.401. No matter what I do, I can't seem to have the hole note generate a given tolerance or limit. I've gone into the model and added the tolerance/limit and it doesn't regenerate the note with the new value. Anyone have a work around to this?
Hello Dear Friends at PTC Community, What is the industry practice regarding level of details for MBD parts? Should ALL features have ALL dimensions shown, in as many Combination Views as necessary (same level of detailing as in 2D drawing)? Is there a way to hide a model in Combination View? Some of our Combination Views are packed with notes and models are not necessary (they get in the way actually).Simplified Representation works within assemblies, but not at part level. any chance someone here can share a good practice/high standard reference model, something I can learn from?
