Hi there.  I would like to export a CL file of a part from Creo Manufacturing and to then post-process it to G-Code to mill on our ProtoTrak DPM2 3-axis CNC machine (with SMX controller).   The roadblock is that I don't have a post-processor for the ProtoTrak DPM2 CNC machine, so I was hoping someone could direct me through the setup process in a few bulleted points.   The end goal is to be able to mill some parts with complex surfaces with our ProtoTrak CNC machine. The ProtoTrak company website states that it is the CAM software's (in this case Creo) responsibility to post process the CL to understandable G-code for their machine, which they say takes the same G-Code instruction set as a Fanuc 6 CNC machine. I also have the accepted G Codes in a manual for the specific machine open on my computer, in case anyone asks, which I will upload as a screenshot.    I am using Creo Parametric version 8.0.8.0

We received a question and enhancement idea from customers adopting Creo 7.0 asking for Leader Note Callouts for Bodies, similar to existing notations available for models, features etc as described in the Creo help here. (in short: Previously, when attaching a leader note to a model (component) you can get the value of a specific parameter for the attachment model. This can be achieved with the following syntax: &<param_name>:att_mdl  e.g &BOM_PART_NO:att_mdl)   An analogue workflow is now supported for body parameters. How to find file size of a Creo  Assembly (.ASM) in MB?

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the font size in the Modelcheck report? All other font in my Creo 8 GUI is adequately sized, but the Modelcheck report has very small font. Others in my organization are not having this problem. Thank you.

Hello,As I remember I started working with mathcad 2, many years ago.I'm still using Mathcad 15 since 2014.Now I got a new PC and a new Notebook.So I would need new licences.After some Mails I wrote to the academicsupport.The answer:"The Mathcad 15 has retired. We are not able to provide support for this".What can I do now? Is there any chance to run Mathcad 15 on my new computer?Greetings George

Recently, my SSD hard drive crashed and I lost all emails and software installed on my laptop, including the license file for my single-user MC 9.0.0.  I can't find a customer support email where I can request a replacement for said license file. Your advice is appreciated. Regards

Maybe this is a new feature request. But is there a way to include measuremnt features like 3D thickness analysis in exported pvz files from Creo?

In another thread the execution speed of loops was mentioned as a side issue. That warranted some testing. It turns out that using if-construction inside the loop to deal with the first index instead of assigning that before the loop means that the loop takes almost twice as long ... if the loop just assigns a single value to a parameter. If the loop contents are even moderately complex, the effect of the if-construction will soon disappear into noise. Another raised question was the speed of the two forks in the if-construction. From this simple test that is minimal. The random variation is much higher than the difference, but on the average the result below seems to be about right. Another interesting thing, which doesn't show below, is the effect of multithreading. These examples are likely about as bad for multithreading as possible and that was also reflected in the results. The overhead from it was such that each execution time roughly quadrupled from the shown one

Hi,I've been doing a lot of work in the generative design module and I find that Using the Design criteria Minimize mass and a specified safety factor takes much longer to find a solution for than compared to specifying a mass target. It can in some cases be 20hrs vs 1.5hrs ( highest study setting as it is for a final part). It this normal and for my understanding, why? The same seems to apply if I ever try the modal study settings. Looking at the task manager I see that the optimization switches between 100% CPU followed by 100% GPU and then back, so I presume different optimization tasks run on different hardware. 

Hi, By default, the Creo installation defines the path for Start in as C:\Users\Public\Documents (marked in yellow).Our policy prohibits writing to the C:\Users\Public path, and each user can only write to their own path, which is C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\.How do you customize the path so that it is unique to each user who logs into the computer and launches Creo?

Not sure if this is possible or not.... I would like import parameters from one system and automatically connect them to parameters of the same name within CREO.   My goal is to create a template part with parameters /relations stored in the model.  I would then like to push parameter values from another system into the model and get the model to react to the changes. Just curious if anyone has done this and if so, which API's did you use? Thanks

Hello, I am trying to doo a preparation for print in Creo, but the build envelop of the PTC generic printer is an opaque blue. is it possible to make it transparent so I see the part inside it?

The number :2 refers to the ID of my Raw model. But when I save a copy Drawing / .asm and replace the model of raw material the parameter PRO_MP_MASS:2 doesn't update and in my drawing, the parameter keeps with the weight of the previous one. Article - CS264721 indicates that flattening flexible components in electrical assemblies is not a function available in the software. The article states that it applies to Creo Parametric 2.0-8.0. I am using Creo 10. Is there a workaround? I would like to keep the flexibility, as I typically use it for cable heatshrinks.

   In using Creo Illustrate with PTC Creo View Files Tools for publishing, The "PVZ" output file doesn't allow watermarks to be published. We have Windchill / model security labels "ATTRIBUTES/PARAMETERS" that don't publish.   I created our watermarks ini files using the old "ProductView Watermark Editor", The ini files work for Creo View and Creo Illustrate independently. The only impact is generating a Creo Illustrate generated pvz the watermarks are not visible in our files. We would like the watermarks to be published using our output of Creo Illustrate. We have our Windchill lifecycle designs, security labels that we would like to preserve on our Figures and screen sequences .

HiI want to calculate/plot the deflection and the moment along a column (or a stand-up beam) subjected to a lateral point load. The column is pinned at the top (A) and fixed at the bottom (B), and the load P is acting at a distance a from the top. If somebody can bring some knowledge to this, I'll be very thankful    

I have a complicated surface modelled part (over 1000 features) with a family table. When I open one of the instances, it immediately shows regeneration failures, but when I manually regenerate it again, it usually fixes itself. Why would these failures be occurring if there is nothing wrong with the part since it completes the regeneration manually?

Hi!I want to reduce the number of Creo 8 licenses either in the license file itself, on the Flexnet-server. or somehow elseHow do I do that immediately?(Flexnet Release Version: 11.17.1.0) I don't want to have suggestions like "Cancel them". For Windchill I can just allocate a smaller number as I understand it.For Creo: I login to PTC, go to Support - License Management, License Actions, Advanced Search, put the server host ID, click Search and see the licenses that I can retrieve.But there is no option to put in a smaller number. Thanks!

I'm creating a very simple part, a strip of metal with holes in it. I started with a flat part, added the 1st hole, then pattern. When bending, the holes move with the part, but when I want to reference other parts to these holes in an assembly that's not possible. I've tried bending first and doing the pattern with a curve pattern. In this case the parts show in position but the pattern has an error. I'm sure it's because the two faces of the bend become different. Tried adding points and same issue. I had to repeat holes and chamfers twice and will have to do the same with the parts attached to this. Is there any way to keep the references after bending or is something that Creo doesn't have?*I'm using Creo 9.0.2.0
