CAD

Good morning all! Doing some work in CREO Parametric 8.0.8.0. and after some time I realised that during sketching in a feature the ribbon is gone. I have to click "sketch" again to get all the options. ctrl-F1 is not working nor is double-clicking. Right button shows "hide ribbon" greyed-out.How can this be resolved?? (I found out that CREO is installed under "program files" in Pro/Engineer 20 this was a big mistake triggering all sorts of problems,  is this still the case??) Best regards!    

The base shape is this which I created by blending two sketches.I would like to remove the top and bottom surfaces and have differing thickness walls at the top and bottom of this object; as in the wall thickness is greater at the bottom and it decreases gradually towards the top.The closest example to this that I've seen is example 2 here :  https://support.ptc.com/help/creo/creo_pma/r9.0/italian/index.html#page/simulate/simulate/exam_variablethickness.html I am unsure on how to achieve and help would be appreciated.

Hello,I am attempting to create three holes in the thickened version of a quilt. The most reliable method I have found is by trimming the quilt as shown below however this results in no hole axis being formed making subsequent work on it harder. I was having difficulty created holes using the hole tool because of the rounded geometry and the breaks in the surface. What would be a reliable way toa) Get hole axes when creating objects this way (ie thickening trimmed quilts)?b) Place holes on a surface such as this?  The quilt is made by wrapping a sketch on cylinder on creo paramteric 9.0 student version.

Good morning, per subject, I need to run a file.xmcd from the command line in an installer.  I am using Inno setup.  The command line looks like:       [Run] Filename: "{app}\Readme.txt"; Description: "View the Readme file"; Flags: postinstall shellexec skipifsilent unchecked Filename: "{app}\FILE.mcdx"; Description: "Open FILE"; Flags: postinstall shellexec skipifsilent       I can launch mathcadprime.exe but I cannot shell execute this exe with the associated file.xmcd. Ideas? How does one run file.xmcd from a command line and associate with the latest Prime? thank you.    

How do I find a component that is set to metric units?  All of my components are set to English units but there are several that are set to metric and when I export it to a step file it creates an error where components that are metric are scaled incorrectly.   

Hello, I am trying to re-flatten a wire harness for a manufacturing drawing that I have been working on but I am getting an error that reads "Cannot load drawing template. Please ensure drawing templates are saved on the first sheet". The template I am using only has one sheet, so it is saved on the first sheet. In the past, the only way I have been able to get around this error message is to create a new drawing entirely. How do I avoid this error? This error occurs in the Creo Harness Manufacturing Extension.

Hi, I have a custom system of units in Creo Parametic that I need for several parts, but I do not want to make it a default system. Instead, I want to add it to the list of predefined system of units so that I can change it with one click and not having to define it everytime I need it. Please let me know how to achieve this. Thanks.   

Creo 9 user. Is there a way to regenerate parts/assemblies without having to click "Current Vals"? We set up most of our parts and assemblies with Inputs using Pro/Program. It allows us to read text files to easily generate models from "master" models. Unfortunately, this means that every time our top-level assembly is regenerated, we have to click "Current Vals" over 20 times. Is there a function like "regenerate with existing values" or "regenerate without Inputs"? I searched everywhere I could think of but found nothing. I would have thought this was a more common issue. Thank you. 

Hi,  After the successful run of my Creo Simulate Solver, I now get an error window, that tells me, that "the output file of the solver is damaged on line #68". Please find the error attached (it's in German).  Does anyone have an idea, how to avoid this happening?    Thanks.    Greetings Tim       

Hi!   I have a question. I had never used Creo Pro/program before, but I got an interesting work. I watched some tutorial video on youtube about what is it.   I have 5 sketches, but I have to use only one in assembly. Firstly I would like to use a dialog box and I would like to select a sketch and after that I would like to extrude this sketch, but later if I select another sketch in dialog box then the program extrude the new sketch.  I would like to ask for some help on how to start my work.   I hope my description was understandable.   Thanks in advance for your help.   I use Creo Parametric 8.0

 Hi community, I'm a begginer of Creo Toolkit and trying to run a sample application.The sample "pt_async" successfully built its exe file but I had an error "ucore46.dll was not found" when I ran it.As shown in previous topics, I added a path <creo common files>/<machine name>/lib to both environment and system environment PATH.However, I still have the error.Could you show me any idea to solve it? Shold I set some exrta configurations? Thanks! 

Hi, I have an assembly in which I am using fill pattern to create an array of parts. The spacing and the sketch of the fill patterns are parametric, i.e., I defined variables for them so that I can test various combinations of space and fill area to prototype faster. I have other components which I want to center with respect to the pattern. There are 2 ways that I have tried:1. Align the components with the planes of the global coordinate system. This does not align the components with the fill pattern because the fill pattern instance is not symmetric, which means the resulting fill pattern is also not symmetric with respect to the X and Y planes of the global coordinate system. Is there a way to center the fill pattern with respect to the global X and Y planes? Note that offsetting the fill pattern instance to create a symmetry there would not work since the dimensions of the fill pattern instance are also defined variably and would often change. 2. Hello,  I'm trying to perform an air flow simulation on a part that I imported. I used the import doctor to try to fix the geometry and create a solid. But running the simulation, I think it isn't actually doing anything. It appears as a solid body that's why I thought it would work but apparently no.

While Creo is installing it sometimes reboots the computer mid way through the install.  This is very undesirable behavior.  Any ideas to get it to stop doing that? 

I want to give skip weld in Creo. If it's solid, then pattern approach will be there. But when it comes to shell perimeter weld. What will be the best and easiest way? My approach is: Creating surface regions and for the small surface edges I will create Perimeter weld, Where this process is tedious to do. Could someone help me with the easiest way.

Hi all, I have a bending beam function that i would like to plot for the deflection, shear and moment in the beam. I have the deflection as the first normal bending part that is represented by afunction and the unloaded part after it, with a different function. I had it in Mathcad15 however now after converting to mathcad prime 7 it doesnt plot anymore. Thank you ! 

Hello everyone,I would like to pilot a repetition with family table, the fact is they dont keep the name in memory( first image).This is a big repetition so i dont want add 1 by 1 every subassembly. My idea is to pilot the component by is ID in the relations and find the correct lenght in is family table So my question is there anything like a function to schearch the ID of the component. I hope you understand what i'm saying. I'm new in CREO/PTC and even more in relations and program. I probably dont have the vocabulary.Thank you for reading  

Dear Sir, I have successfully installed CREO Parametric and whenever I try to open it (In admin credential working except zoom in/out, But same system log in via user unable to open ), the loading icon appears next to the cursor and disappears after 3-4 seconds but CREO parametric does not open and I don't even get any error messages.    So, I don't even know what's wrong. I hope can u help me with this at the earliest. If I reinstall the software, same License will be applicable or not. kindly inform me and do the needful.
