hello everyone,is there a way to show csys always visible as in Creo View?thanks
Hi, I am a beginner in creo. In previous cad software which i used (inventor and solidworks), I can easily isolate the components in assy environment, but in creo I cant find a proper way to do it. I search around the web, which I find a poor way which is: select the components you want to isolate --> representation--> master. But this method cant longer be used once you are in another simp representation mode. So please advice the fastest way or at least the efficient way to perform the 'isolate' function since me and my colleague use "isolate" function quite frequent when need to modify part feature in assembly environment.
Hi, We use Windchill and Creo 9 (will soon be upgrading to Creo 10. We also use Windchill for document management. In Windchill, each product has three main folders CAD, Promotion requests and Documents. When creating a Workspace the Context is set to the product root in Windchill and so is the Part Target Foler and CAD Document Target Folder. I know that I can manually go in and change the Part and CAD document target folder to the Windchill CAD folder. However, is there a way to, in the config.pro for example, to set the CAD folder by default, so that all are not directed to the root by default? Also that it will use the current context, since the context will change depending on the product/workspace.
Hi, A new thing I seem to be running into: Bubble Numbers now have constraints. (When you drag them about, they now 'snap' to perpendicular, coincident, parallel, etc,,, and then have a constraint tag on them.. How to turn them off? and hopefully globally, not just individually.. (Remember, I jumped from Creo 3 to Creo 9..)
I am trying to draft a certain assembly where I have to show a particular component at two different locations. One in solid outline and another in phantom line. For that, I have been using same component twice in the assembly and making one of it display in phantom line with Component Display feature in the Drawing. Is there any workaround or feature that will help me show the same component at two different locations as described above without a duplicate part in the assembly? (Attached an image where you can see the piston has to be shown at two different locations. I achieved it by using two pistons in the same assembly. Is there a way to achieve it by using a single piston in the assembly?P.S: Simplified model for understanding)
Hi, I have to do a static elastoplastic Simulation with Simulate on the attached model. It is an axial compensator. Material: Not linear but elastoplastic behavior The compensator is composed by two parts of 0.5 mm thickness in contact. So in addition to the behavior of the elastoplastic material, I have to evaluate the contact between the two parts. The model is fixed on one side and on the other side is applied a compression/traction, lateral and torsional displacement. There is also internal pressure. First of all, I have to do a static elastoplastic Simulation, than I have to evaluate fatigue analysis, heat exchanger from the inside fluid, modal and frequency analysis. Now the focus is on the static elastoplastic Simulation and I have a problem in order to have result in reasonable time. How would you create the mesh? How would you set up the simulation with the issue of time in mind? Do you suggest to use Ansys Simulation? Thanks
Hello, I have created the sheetmetal bracket with the standards holes and formed holes. Standard holes are created with sheetmetal Extruded cut option and Formed holes are created using Punch Form option. Now for the manufacturing requirement for punching and forming, i been asked to create a drawing with Hole Coordinates table for these holes and forms. So I have created the coordinate table using HOLE TABLE option in the drawing. But the problem here is, HOLE TABLE option doesn't show coordinates of Formed Holes - Refer attached image. it shows only extruded cut holes. also i tried creating the datum points on top of the formed holes to get the X and Y values of forms. It was working but it wont create the automatic callout next to forms. so it is the manual work to add the callouts which leads human mistake. is there any way to show the coordinates of formed holes using HOLE TABLE with right callout ? pls suggest

All, I am having repeated issues with DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION bluescreens on a HP Fury G9 laptop here and Creo 7.0.8.0. It happens with graphical interactions such as snapping to view and section. I have tried the following, but it still happens constantly: - Creo re-installed - BIOS update - Graphics driver update - System update - System rebuild - Permissions checks - Fast start-up disabled Any help or ideas to solve this is greatly appreciated
We're in testing phase of implementation of Creo 8.0.0.0. I created a family table of a consumable. In this case it's Loctite. The generic is created from our start part which contains three datums, csys and some designated parameters. There is no other geometry or features. Add our designated parameter of DESCRIPTION to the family table. The instance names are the Loctite grades, 242, 243, 262 with corresponding description. Verify and check-in to Windchill and all is well. Assemble the instances into the assembly item. Constrain the instance datums planes to the part where I want to callout Loctite. Model tree looks correct. Check into Windchill and WT and CAD structure looks right. Create drawing, BOM table looks correct. However, cannot show balloons for the Loctite instances as expected like any other component. Hum.. Scratch head. Figure balloons need something to
After I run a flow analysis on a part, (Creo 9.0) I am unable to open the part again. When I try to open the original part, I get a blank screen of the planes of the part, not the part as originally constructed. Please see below.Any insight would be helpful. Thank you.
I am working in CREO 8.0 and I am trying to show multiple theta point charts/ spline tables in a drawing for one part. When i create the theta point chart/spline table it only shows me the values for one of the splines. How do i get 2 separate tables for the 2 separate splines?
Hi, I want to use the Creo Simulation Live Probe value in Relations. Is it possible to convert Probe values into analysis features? Thanks

Hi, we've just moved to Creo 9 (from 3) While I was hoping for improvements, I seem to be hitting "new & wonderful" head aches. issue today:simple, but annoying: in an assembly, I want to highlight the part. I used to just click it. But now, it seems to select some feature of the part (surface, edge, axis, etc..) and not the part itself. The work around seems to be to hold the 'ALT' key, then select the 'part'. I've tried to modify the options in the Options/Global/select, but that seems to create a new set of failures.. Seriously?! what changed?!
Hello, I have a problem for pipe design, I use pipe application to create the 3D model normally .Our systems can used in different industry areas, Most times we only need to change the brand of those componets, and use same pipe line. I guess maybe we can use configurable product to make pipe design? So I can easily add or change the brand. Seems pipe application cant insert configurable product or configurable model. Would anyone try this before?
Hello All,Is there any chance to use Quick Surface (Reverse Engineering tool) with integration to Creo Parametric 10.02.0? Quick surface HomePage : https://www.quicksurface3d.com/
I want to automate the steps required to convert the 3D solid model to 2D drawings. Can you tell me how can I automate the PTC creo to reduce the steps? Is it possible to link our written C++ script to PTC creo for automation?
CREO RELATIONS. I have a frame, let's say 500 x 350 (extruded) with a depth of 36 mm.There is a water cooling channel running across the frame, as shown in the image below. How can I make the water cooling channel change its pitch according to the frame size? For example, if I make the frame 350 x 350, the water cooling channel collapses on itself due to the number of channels overlapping the frame size.
Hi, I faced an issue when import drawing to a drw file. The matter as below: I have an Ori.drw and I want to create 2 sheets with the same 2D drawing in this file. Thus, I plotted one, then save as a new-name.drw (but common 3D data). Next, I import this new-name.drw to my Ori.drw. Sometimes all data completely import, both sheets remain same. However, sometimes the plotted dimension all gone for one of the sheet, only left sketches and part drawing. Does anyone have any idea why this happen and what should I do so that both drawing's data (dimension & sketches) are kept during import action, Thanks.

As per the original post. Good Morning Ty, I'd like to use CREO to calculate the Area MOI of some non-uniform geometry. Prior to doing that I wanted to test the tool on a known Area MOI before applying it to the non-uniform geometry. What I did was took an I-beam, calculated the Area MOI and then pulled the same beam into CREO and tried to use the analysis tool to confirm that it shows me the Area Moment of Inertia in the Inertia Tensor. But the units for the Inertia tensor are for that of just plain MOI (lb/in^2) and not the Area Moment of Inertia (in^4) - how would I measure this using Creo for a cross section? Thanks, MW

I'm trying to relocate (move!) the datum tag from the hole to the note:Similar to this view:I'm using version 7.0.9.0Thanks In Advance (TIA)Merl
We just recently updated to CREO 10 (10.0.2.0) and found something interesting. when we save our models, some are being saved with the wrong owner. We were on CREO 6 and this didnt seem to be an issue at all. We have our file versions turned on. For example, we have a part named stud_end_locking.prt.82 with owner as "XXXXXXXX" saved on 5/18/2023. Today, user "YYYYYYYY" saved stud_end_locking.prt.83 and the owner is displaying as "ZZZZZZZZ"If I save an assembly with say 15 different parts, some of the new versions that save will have my user name as the owner and some will have other user names as the owner, even though that other owner hasn't even been in CREO parametric. today I saved a part and a new version was created with the owner of someone who left the company over 6 months ago.in the screenshot, i saved .82 and today i saved .83, but as you can see, the owner is not me. The owner of .83 is someone who left the company over 6 months
