Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hopefully one of you can help me here. I need to make some custom toolkit buttons in Creo Parametric 8 but the PTC examples don't work and the documentation seems conflicting and is very unclear about how to start. I have created an async program in VB before, also with Creo Parametric 8, but this was a sort of background worker without UI involved. This program was pretty straightforward using the documentation. Linking VB.net to the Creo UI seems impossible at this point. Has anyone succeeded? Do you have a 'helloworld' example where the application is linked to Creo and a working custom button is added?

Hello guys, I have a small issue every time I run dynamic analysis in Creo Parametric. If I click the dynamic option, it always says "mechanism dynamics is required for this analysis type meaning". Do you guys know how to fix this or maybe there was a wrong joint or connection with the setting so the I couldn't run dynamic analysis. However, there's no problem with kinematic analysis. 

Hello!I have a problem with my drawings. So I have an assembly and a drawing. There are two sheets in the drawing - the first is in A1 format, the second is in A3 format. On the first sheet outside the drawing field there is a specification table and positions are placed based on its repeat region.The problem is that the ballons break, overlap each other, etc.For example:1). Being on the second sheet, I click “update sheets”. After that, I go to the first sheet and see that almost all the ballons have fallen apart. Like that:Ok, then I click “update sheets” on the first sheet and everything falls into place as it shouldBUT! When I switch to the second sheet, the positions break again, only now on the second sheet.It's a vicious circle... The interesting thing is that if I make the same format on the sheets, then everything is fine. But I need different formats!So far the problem is solved by redrawing the drawing, but this is not normal Creo 5.0.4.0.

hi all we are facing a problem regarding some parts constraint within an assembly. when we constrain them in the first place, everything looks good (fully constraint, ok).if we then open the define window of that part again, the constraints are changed (as you can see in the picture).first there were 3 constraints: 1. coincident, 2 & 3. distance, after reopening the define window. the 2. & 3. constraints are changed to coincident with the target surface as "not in memory".same happens, if we reopen the whole assembly after saving and checking in.we are using Creo Parametric 7.0.2.0thanks in advance

A google search indicates that since before 2010 CREO has been incapable of offering direct extrusion from a wrapped sketch. There are various work-arounds that exist which largely requires minimum 3-4 steps and it is not very stable. The most recent "solution" from PTC is CS82388 which takes 2 seconds to modify some parameters to see why it is not a solution: it does not translate/wrap around the cylinder beyond 180 degrees.  In Solidworks you can literally extrude/cut directly from the wrap tool beyond 180 degrees, this is in just 1 step. So, PTC, you are very much behind your competitors, and have seemingly ignored your users for over a decade -  when will extrusions from a wrapped sketch be introduced as it is not in CREO 10? Article - CS82388 - How to wrap and extrude text around a cylinder in Creo Parametric (ptc.com) examples of solidworks:Solidworks - Wrap feature - YouTubeWrap Command -Solidworks Tutorials |Design Hub| - YouTube

I've got a complex assembly I cannot share directly, and I am trying to animate the actuation of the mechanism for a presentation.I am using explode states to add in/replace parts and actuate them as I'm not aware of a method for moving the mechanism to various pre-defined positions within the assembly constraints (which would be really nice, and I'm surprised if it is not an option) When trying to animate the opening of a door with an explode rotation, the path of the part as it transitions from state 1 to state 2 is not a simple pivot, but rather some eliptical mess. Is there:- A way to constrain movement between explode states?- A way to animate using various positions of objects related using assembly constraints (pin, slot, slider, etc)? Much thanks in advance for the insight.Dave 

Are there any ideal parameter's that we need to pass from Creo Parametric to engineering notebook (Mathcad worksheet) and relatively the input parameter's from engineering book to Creo Parametric? I want to design helical gears and do the calculation part in engineering notebook can this be done? Design with engineering notebook 

When I switch over to centerline mode in the harness package the center lines are not shown, however when I hover over them they highlight... any suggestions how to get them to show? I cant right click and edit to add a location to the segment in this manor, which is frustrating. Hi. I have been trying to conduct flow analysis on a fan blade for quite a while now and I can't seem to get the right specifications. I have looked all over the internet and have only found flow analysis of internal structures, not external ones. I have tried so many things and can't seem to get it correctly. Hi there,recently i decided to create a specific restricted parameter to add in my start part.prti've followed the "external file" approach and i 've created a .txt with my   parameter.Then i've updated my config.pro adding the path of the new file.Initially Creo (version 9.06) was not loading the file and i could understand why.After few trials i've found my issue.My configuration files were stored in a windows folder managed by nextcloud (the cloud storage software my company use ). By the time i moved the restricted parameters file into a local folder , (such as my desktop)Creo was perfectly able to load the file and use the parameter.My question here is how to keep the possibility to store the file among the other configuration files inside the cloud environment.Does Creo agent have anything to do with this?

I am trying to understand legacy drawing files that are brought into a more recent release. In my example and common practice is user will open a legacy file created in a very old version and do a Save As to a new number (.drw file). Does this new file now become Creo8 or is it still using old version and old code that may have a bug in it. I know the .dtl file is static to the drawing and .prt and .asm upon regeneration will take on new version. I am trying to understand drawing behavior as well. When I open new .drw in editor it does have Creo8 in the header. My base for question is bugs and fixes that were corrected in later releases.

hello,in the idea of standardising, we are in the process to recreate our start parts (prt template).The question of the mass properties calculation comes in. If I check the legacy data, some are using the mass property retrieved throught PRO_MP_MASS and some have a mass property feature in the footer and retrieved through MASS:FID_MASS_PROP (relation in post regeneration) I can't come out with a real pro or con from one or another solution...We use the mass in windchill, on the drawing and with family tables (even huge ones). Does anyone has an opinion on that? how are you doing in your compagny and why did you choose this solution?  

Is there a way to transfer design data from EPLAN to Creo Schematics?For example some neutral data like STEP for 3D? I have found article from 2010 without answers, maybe there is something which works nowadays?

Hi all, I've got an assembly - which I can't show its entirety for obvious reasons. It contains many components that are fixed, but two of which have 'Pin' constraints. This one is pinned to one fixed component - with no following mechanism components. For some reason when I grab it and move it, it makes the camera highly sensitive. Please see video attached. I tried restarting Creo, and restarting my computer - the same issue occurs. It temporarily goes away when I delete and re-add/re-constrain the component, but comes back later on. Thanks,Jeff I have no clue hwt

Hello all, Would anyone know why a model would display hidden lines when the display setting is "shading with edges"? I have included a screen capture of a portion of the model.  I thought there may be a setting for Hidden Line Removal that was modified by a user, but didn't find anything like that on the web.  Using Creo Parametric 8.0.1.0 Thanks in advance, Phil
