Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Working with imports and exports of 3D models, I believe that it is not constant mathematics since it will depend a lot on the model and the source software, but I would argue that it is necessary to have a base of best practices for thisDoes anyone have any kind of document on best practices for importing and exporting 3D models in Creo?

Currently, we are trying to load the Creo7.0.8.0 model into Altair's Simlab analysis software. However, when I try to read it, the model is not displayed even though the completion message is displayed on Simlab. Creo 2.0, which we used before the upgrade, could read Simlab, but after the upgrade, it is no longer possible to read Simlab. We shared this situation with Altair and confirmed the countermeasures, but we have not received a clear answer yet. I would like to ask you a question, so I made an inquiry. I recently updated to Creo 9.0, and the images I've inserted into a notebook file have begun to not show up in the notebook.  This makes using the notebook much more difficult, since the images had references for the various input fields in the notebook.  What's really bizarre is that the problem is intermittent.  In some workspaces, it works fine.  In others, it never works.  In others, it bounces back and forth.  The config for display_images is set to yes, so I know that's not the problem.  When the images don't display, I do get a warning in the log upon opening the file: "Retrieved object was previously saved with display."  I'm not sure how to fix this problem, though.

Hello everyone, I would like to make a drawing for a sheet metal part. I got a step file which I have converted into a sheet metal part (function: Model - Operations - Convert to sheet metal part). This worked fine. See attachements "Step_File" and "Bent_Sheet_Metal". I left it so far in the state "unwind". When I create a 2D drawing from this model I would like to insert the unwinded sheet metal and the bent one. Its not important to have it on one sheet so it can be two sheets seperated (example: 1st.sheet: unwind sheet metal and 2nd.sheet bent sheet metal) To insert the unwinded sheet metal its no problem. As soon as I bent the sheet metal to its final form (like in picture "Step_File") the drawing updates itself (of course) and the part is bent again.  I searched for the problem and found this post but I dont fully understand the steps. Maybe its not even showing my problem. In my point of view its at least near to it. Can someone show me how to insert

I am using Creo Parametric Release 6.0 and Datecode6.0.6.0Problem with solid center line showing up in a drawing view. Its a offset section with a sketch where there is two lines in 90 degree The section is showed by a full unfold, partial view.Not sure if this is suppose to look like this or if its a bug or if there is any detail settings to hide the solid line that goes through the hole feature?

Using Creo 7.0 as of today, I use the dark per-Wildfire dark background, the sketcher constraints appear black on the dark background, they appear light colored when I hover over them, is that the intent?  Sketcher appearance is grayed out so I'm unable to change the constraint color.  Is PTC trying to force people to use the default/light background???

Is there a way to "read" the *.ui file to understand what UI customization is applied? Unlike config.pro that can be edit/read via text editor, the *.ui file could not be read/edit via text editor like notepad Basically, what i am trying to achieve is to "read" the customization that is applied via the *.ui file  

Two questions. When the Designate box for a parameter is checked, it would mean that the parameter is visible in a PDM system. I understand this, but it doesn't apply to me as I don't use a PDM software. The second purpose, according to CREO Fundamentals, is (and I quote) to "make the part level feature or geometry level designated parameters appear as a component in an assembly BOM".I'm not sure what this is supposed to mean, because I believe this implies that you can't use undesignated parameters in a BOM table? Which can't be true, because I definitely have undesignated parameters linked in tables (in drawings for instance). Could someone shed some light on this? And lastly, what advantages are there to NOT designate a parameter?

I've got an OTK JAVA Free app working to create simplified reps with a method as shown below. I cannot get Creo to show any components in this simplified rep.The method should accept inputs as a Solid (the assembly that the simp rep is to be a member of), an integer sequence (I only want to show a single component, so only the index 0 is used) and an integer (only used for messages, denotes it's location in a sequence). The method should create a new simp rep with the default action to exclude all components, which it does successfully. It should then add the component with the feature number that is index 0 in the integer sequence as a master rep. This does not happen. So my question is, what should I do to the below code to make the component identified in the "is" integer sequence as index 0 appear as a master rep in the simp rep called leafsimp? I've found the series of videos for Creo Ansys, which are somewhat helpful, and I took the half day class for Creo Ansys as well.  However, I want to take a deeper dive into the various types of joints to better  understand how they function. For Creo Simulate, there are tutorials from PTC that you complete at your own pace. There are downloadable files for these tutorials so you can actually perform the tasks instead of just watching someone else do it. I haven't been able to find these types of tutorials for Creo Ansys. Does anyone know where I can find this kind of self-pace training for Creo Ansys?

I am setting up a simple beam bending simulation of a simply supported L channel.  its 3x2x.025.  It is 24" long and 2 equally spaced load of 25000# each.  When I verify my results using the bending equations I am way off.  Can anyone suggest what is going on?

I am using Creo Parametric Release 6.0 and Datecode6.0.3.0Hi Team, The bitmap image is attached in a drawing as an object but after check-in, it's not showing in creo view, and after checkout same drawing in creo its also not visible in creo.

Often, when working on parts, especially in assemblies, I'd like to view dims from multiple features - at the same time.  Or both feature and assembly dims.  I can't find a way, so I'm hoping you know about another bit that PTC hid away. Coming from an older version, this is maddening.  I feel like I am licenced to fly and F15 but only allowed in the Cessna 150. I have resorted to working with a pad of paper so I can write down dims from all the desired features and assembly positions, so I can at least be partially productive.  This is especially useful when looking for minor interferences when there is a stack up - and for making similar changes in many features or parts.  I don't even see a way to see all the dims from one feature with 2 sketches like a sweep. Please tell me I'm missing the obvious.  Thanks.

Hi All,I would like to create a Mapkey that not only creates a STEP file, but also renames it. To further complicate this, I would like to pull parameters both from the part as well as the drawing of the part.Format would be as such:(part number)STEP_(drawing number)REV(drawing revision)Where the part number would be pulled form the part parameters, and the drawing number and revision would be pulled from the drawing parameters. Am i crazy? I realize I'm going to need some sort of external .bat file to run various commands, but I'm not sure where to start. Any help would be appreciated.Currently using CREO 4 M150 and Windchill 11.

Is there a way to use a different parameter if your primary parameter is blank that your title block references? I want my REV cell using &ptc_wm_revision to use the parameter drawing_rev if ptc_wm_revision is blank.  example: if ptc_wm_revision is blank use drawing_rev, but if ptc_wm_revision isn't blank then use ptc_wm_revision. This would be used if a team is creating drawings outside of windchill due to location, but when we put them into windchill at a later date then the revision assigned from windchill will override the prototype revision.   

Hi   So for my masterthesis I currently am testing the possibilities and restrictions with a 4-axis milling machine (Roland MDX-50 with a rotational A-axis). I am now trying to mill a football (or soccerball, I'll just call it "Ball" from now on) as you can see in the image below. Normally we do this on a 5-axis machine, but the goal is to see if  the MDX-50  can realise this piece and how precise it will be. Image 1. Ball   I already made some volume roughs (with a 6mm End Mill) and profiling steps (with a 2mm Ball Mill) on the top- and the bottom side. Hello, I have not used CAD in a while and was trying to copy a plant tray I had at home to get back to ease myself back into the program; however, I have run into problems. Perhaps I am using the pattern feature incorrectly, but when creating a new pattern based on simple extrusions and a chamfer, the program runs quite slowly. As a result of this, when I try to create a shell pattern creo always crashes and is unable to complete the action. Does anyone have any advice for me please? I have attached the file. Thanks.    

When generating a step file of a part designed with generative design, the step file becomes very large. Is there a way of reducing the file size? 

I have a requirement to Export my Harness Drawing created in Creo Parametric to a format which can be imported into Capital Harness System(CHS) either it can be .dsi, .xml or .nwf. Please let me know if we have a option for that
