Creo 4 Drawing - Is there a way to add a datum and plane to a clipped dimension shown on a detailed view without using a draft entity line to show the plane?   The first picture is what I have.  The second picture is kind of what I want except the white line is a draft entity just related to the view.  Is there a better way to do this to indicate the 2.155 dimension origin is datum E?   Follow up question.  My datum E in this view was created via the datum feature symbol, notice the red line below my datum E.  This indicates that it is a duplicate tag, which obviously it is because the original datum E is shown on the main view.  Do I just accept the error (red underline) and move on, or is there a way to avoid this error?   Cheers Airfix      

Hi, I'm working for many years with a supplier.So, I was  using its templates.A lot of relations, parameters...Now I would like to reset all of this this and use standard PTC standards.Is it possible ?How to know if everything is reseted .Thanks

Hello Everyone,   I am facing an issue with the CREO parametric startup. I installed CREO in C: drive. And by default, the parametric.exe is located in the BIN folder. But firstly I do have write access in this location. And I do not understand why CREO is having this issue.    Other than that if I try changing it to another location where I have "write access", It does not accept any location in C: .   If I choose another location (let's say the same location as my working directory), it throws an error with AFX and IFX failed to load. And closes creo. I understand it should not work in theory because my working directory doesn't have parametric.psf file.     I have a student licence. I was using creo before this and recently I faced this issue. How can I start using creo again and resolve this issue? Can anyone please help me with this?   Regards Ayush  

Any recommendations on what NC sequence to use to program this would be appreciated.  Helical sweep with .100" pitch that is mirrored.  We are using this as a locking feature for a gluing operation.  Is there an NC sequences in Turning similar to "trajectory" in milling?  If a groove is formed at one or both ends that is fine.

Something is strange with this part. The sketch of the extrude has only one reference, a plane, that was used with a middle constraint to a line. It doesn't make any sense. That constraint is supposed to be between a point and a curve. Does anybody understand how it is possible that the sketch to be fully constrained? The part was made with Creo 6.

Hi everybody,I am using the VB.NET API for gathering informations about the current model. Especially the Creo parameters (see picture below).You can get the parameters byIpfcParameterOwner owner = (IpfcParameterOwner)currentModel;foreach (IpfcParameter param in owner.ListParams())...So I can gather the values (e.g. "A.1") but I couldn´t get the parameter name (e.g. "PTC_WM_VERSION"). In the PDF-help they say, that the name can be retrieved by the IpfcModelItem. Hello everyone,I would like to ask if it is possible to have general sketch for all sweeps in model.It will be great if sweep sections will be depended by main sketch. Any modification in main sketch will affect section geometry in all sweeps.Till now I was using parameters for specific dimensions, but it is making model more complex.   Thank you in advance for answers.

I am working with the java object toolkit API for Creo 7 and I am running into this issue where when I attempt to regenerate an assembly it fails and throws XToolkitGeneralError. I can regenerate the same model that throws this error using Creo so I do not believe it to be an issue with the Creo model. I am wondering why it is throwing that exception. Any insight to this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, we are using Creo with windchill. For this reason, I want to prevent users from exporting data from creo. I want to remove all export options and save as option. How can I do that. Thanks in advance for all the help    

How can you control whether an annotation dimension disappears when cross-sectioning?   I have a model where the cross-section was created on a plane called SKETCH (offset of 0), and I added 3D annotations to the same plane.  Half of them disappear when I cross-section and half of them stay.  If I reverse the direction of the cross-section then the other half of the 3d Dims disappear.  The annotation plane was also defined to be on the SKETCH plane.   How can I control this behavior so I control whether these dims are shown in the x-section view?

Recently I've created a parameter set for selecting a material from a drop down.  This list drives relations used for grabbing dimensions for an auto-bom table.  I'm having trouble importing this list via .txt file, and I'm wondering if there needs to be a specific syntax for the strings int he .txt file?  This list is pretty simple: "1X4" "2X4" "2'' FOAM" etc.   I have been using a mapkey that creates the parameter, and then adds each material, line by line.  As you can imagine, this is pretty tedious to update..    When I try to go into the parameter and right click in the list window, select import, and select the .txt file, nothing happens.  Any thoughts?

Hello Everyone,   I have to make utility to generate bill of material for an assembly , For this what steps I have to follow to automate the BOM.  

Everytime I borrow a license and the time period expires, I get the standard note that it has been detected and deleted.   The issues is, I cannot clear this message.  I can tell the 'OK' button is active becuase is flashes when clicked.  but nothing happens.  The only way I have found to continue is to kill Creo from the Task Manager.   The next launch runs perfectly.  Has anyone experienced/solved this? Hi everyone!   I use drawings with multiple sheets. On the first sheet is the assembly, on the second sheet is first part of the assembly, then the second part .....  I want to list the name of the assembly on every drawing sheets. So I would like to give the name of the assembly only once and then it appears on every sheet of the drawing.  What is the easiest way for this?   Thank's for the help!P.S.: Sory for the bad english

Hi all I want to put an expression in dimension text,   for example, most of the time I have threaded holes with depth being twice the nominal thread. (M3 => depth 6, M4 => depth 8). I want to make something like M<X> depth 2*<X>  (where X is the nominal thread, and the expression 2*<X> is automatically evaluated and then appears in the dimension text).   if we only need a dimension value, we can simply use &d#, but here I need a result from an expression with that dimension value. Is there any method to do that?   Thank you in advance!
