I found how to open the System Window using the magnifying glass in Creo 4.0. Is there another place that this is located that I am missing? Hello Community,   I just wanted to make another project and tried to make a smooth explosion transition (from normal view to explosion view). In the first step I only need a transition in creo - not a separate movie or GIF. For an separate video or GIF I need the integrated animation studio in creo - at least this is what I read. For now - when I switch between normal view and explosion view and back to normal view there is no smooth transition inbetween those views - the description "digital behaviour" would be suitable. So, how can I "slow down" the animation or the transition? I also saw, that my creo is showing "Animation images were skipped" in the lower notification bar.    Maybe you could help me?!   Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know what parameters will make the tool continue on all the way the toolpath rather than after each cut tool will  exit to retract plane each time?.

I have a drawing that I'm changing that requires new views.  I deleted all the old views and created new views.  Now, when I try to create Datum Feature Symbols in the new views, the system starts with C instead of A.  I presume somehow A and B were linked to the deleted views, but I've looked in the model tree, drawing tree, layer tree and everywhere else I can imagine, but cannot find them.  If I create C and search for Set Datum Tags, C will appear, but neither A nor B are anywhere to be found.  Of course, I can recreate the drawing/start over to fix, but it seems there would be a way to find A and B, redefine them and move along without having to recreate an entire drawing.  Any ideas?

Hello!   When I create a coordinate system in a layout (I use to place components automatically in the assembly), I can not change the text font and I can not change the name of the coordinate system. When I set my work center travels for my 4-axis machine, it follows the work centers default CSYS of "MACH_ZERO".  The problem is, when I go to mill on another side, such as B90, the work center travels are still looking at "MACH_ZERO" CSYS, instead of adjusting to B90 CSYS, where everything has now been rotated 90 degrees.This as you can see, will not allow us to use the work center travels as intended, but we would like to use them.  Any ideas?

Hi,   As I dive even deeper into the mysteries of Creo 6.0, I find myself experimenting with the mirrored assembly component.  Traditionally, our tooling designs use family tables to vary features on dieblocks that are mostly symmetric.  When I say "mostly symmetric" I mean that some features, like the parting surface or runner and gate systems are symmetric around a top level assembly plane.  But other features may not be symmetric, like waterline systems or the cavity mark number.   I've been experimenting with the mirrored component as a possible alternate technique, and I've noticed that a mirror component that is saved as it's own file still maintains geometric symmetry, regardless of if the feature history tree is passed along during the save.  I thought that maybe after mirroring the part, I could open the mirror and add new features that would not be reflected in the source part.  As an example, dieblock 1 is created, then saved as a mirror as

Hi forum,    is it possible to change the location/reference point of the Dragger?   Sometimes you need to rotate a part about another axis than the one where the dragger is located.   So is there a way to re-position the dragger, before actually moving/rotating the part?   It doesn't seem to work in Creo View the way it can be done in Creo Parametric.

Hi All,   I am develop a toolkit program using C/C++ on Creo Parametric 4.0 M090. One of the function is to read a existing excel file. I tried the spawn mode and it works well. The program reads the Excel file cells successfully. But , when I transform my VS project to DLL mode, it stops working. The error information shows that it is failed to initialize COM library with an error code 0x80010106.   Could you give me some help on how to deal with the import COM in DLL mode?   Thanks, ZR Liu

Hello Forum,   Our company runs a PTC License Server that is accessible via the company network. A number of "concurrent licenses" are managed and made available to employees via this License Server.   However, we'd like to use Creo on a certain workstation that is not allowed to access the company's network (i.e. join the company's domain) due to security reasons. Hence, we are looking for alternative ways to access the License Server to retrieve one of the company's licenses without connecting the workstation to the company domain.   For example, could a copy of the License Server be installed directly on the workstation -- and how would we have to go about this?

I'm trying to create a symbol in Creo for Grain Direction, similar to what's show in ASME Y14.8. It consists of a symbol that is placed on the geometry, with a leader note placed outside of the geometry, pointing to the symbol. I know I can have a leader go FROM a symbol, to an entity in the drawing, but is it possible to have a leader go TO a symbol? (And actually attach/anchor)?  See image attached

Using Creo 4 M130.   I ran an optimization study in Creo Simulate.  I have several measures that I would like to export to use externally.  Currently, the only method I can find to get the data is to make a graph then "Save a backup" of the graph to Excel.   Is there a more efficient way to do this?   I would also be satisfied if any one can tell me if there is a trick to get more than one set of data on one graph.  The UI looks like it should be possible, but I can't figure it out.   Thanks, Nick (We should be going to Creo 7 this year, so even a example in a newer version would be helpful)

I'm trying to assemble a push-button based on the following design shown in this YouTube animation; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Meltd5Kclqs   I have attached photographs of all of the parts I have designed for the "button-ball-guide bush" part of the assembly (I also have made springs, holders, etc but did not think photos of them were necessary).   I'm struggling to come up with a way to assemble these parts that would allow them to function as shown in the YouTube video. My thoughts so far are to assemble the ball as a bearing within the circular groove of the button and then assemble the guide bush around this on either side as cylinders.   However, I'm having two problems with this: 1. Can I assemble a bearing to roll across a curved surface? Can I make a curved axis for the bearing to roll across? 2. Will the bearing be constrained in the internal zigzag groove of the guide bush in the correct way?    Please bear with me as I'm very new to Creo. I've n

hi everyone.  I use creo 4 M010 and encounter a problem when creating balloons on drawing by using "Create ballons - by components" menu. in message box is show up "select a region" which is supposedly not like this (I think). images can be seen in attachment. is there somebody have any solution about this problem? please kindly let me know. thank you very much.   -Suan
