Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hi Community,   We are looking to create a new component parameter in assembly mode that is editable by occurrence.  A similar attribute that has the same capabilities is  ECAD_OWNER.  We were able to create the attribute in Windchill under the EPM Document Uses Link, and it performs correctly in Windchill, but we want to have this edittable in Creo.  I am wondering if anyone knows how to add a component parameter in Creo like this.  Here is a picture example of what the functionality would represent.  It would not check out the components within the assembly as it is considered a assembly parameter.   Windchill 11.0 Creo 4.0 MO90  

Hi all, we have linked our WTPart Mass attribute to PRO_MP_MASS, however to start populating mass information from Creo into Windchill we need to calculate Mass properties in Creo then designate PRO_MP_MASS before checking in. This apparently is too much effort for my users and they would like and automation. I have got something working via Mapkey, but unfortunately if you run the Mapkey a second time it will un-designate the attribute without indication to the user. So I need a more elegant solution which can use some sort of "if" logic to determine whether PRO_MP_MASS is already designated, does anyone have a similar problem with a similar solution, I have no background in Creo automation or customization.   Many thanks

Hi,   I'd like to export the sketch-lines to dxf to use it in another software (dlubal rfem). I use normal parts as skeleton (without aax).   Is there a way to simply export the lines from a sketch or skelton-part ? And is there a way to export a 3d-DXF-file with the lines/sketches i want to export ? Thanks a lot, Maik

We have just made the move from Creo 3.0 to Creo 5.0.3.0, we are using Dell 3620 workstations with NVIDIA  Quadro M4000 cards and 362.13 driver as per the spec sheet, we also have some 3630s with the NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000 and 419.17 driver.   The users are experiencing lag on menus and general navigation, they are experiencing this mostly towards the afternoon. typically most users will have the whole motorcycle in session which can be around 4000 parts, they will tend to use Reps to only show the area of the bike they are working on. So I think its a memeory issue due to number of parts in session, but it could be somehting to do with Windchill, configurations, graphics card, the list goes on.   Any help much appreciated

Hello! It is possible to make a measure using command, for example MEASURE_DIAMETER SHAFT_AXIS AXISD And then I want to use this saved value in AXSID to preselect some line from data in BEGIN_TABLE. In other words, I want to use diameter of selected reference to select size of a component. It is possible?    

Is it possible to have a flexible parameter in a assembly that will publish to a EPM Document Use Link attribute in Windchill?

Hello   For symbol instance present in drawing, we can identify name of parent symbol using API ProDtlsymdefdataNameGet.   This API gives correct name in case of Symbol Definition having name as Test. In case of Symbol Definition Name having Test (2) or Test(2), it is not giving full name and only provides Test as symbol Definition Name.   Am I missing something or is this way it works? Any suggestion would be of great help.

Does anyone know if it is possible to override the plot file extension used by the Creo Distributed Batch utility, and the "PLOT/PRINT to file, GENERIC POSTSCRIPT" Task Type Definition (TTD)?   I have tried everything I can think of, but the output plot files are still created with a .ps file extension.   There exists a PCF setting called plot_name that does exactly what I need (if set to no, then a .plt file extension is used instead of .ps for PostScript).   But I cannot seem to get the Batch file to honor the setting.   The help file implies a PCF file can be used to override relevant plot settings, but it doesn't say say exactly how to accomplish this.   I have tried adding my custom .PCF file to the "Configuration Files" node of the batch group, and have tried specifying my custom .PCF file location in the <PCF_FILE></PCF_FILE> element of the TTD file (found right under the <TKFUNC func="ProPrintExecute"> node).   No luck though. &nb

I am using Creo Parametric 4.0 M040, but I am trying to open a legacy Creo 2 assembly, but the model tree is not showing any of the model operations, but the model picture shows the changes that the operations would have done.  Error message at the bottom of the screen when I open the creo 2 assembly file is "Could not read from Model Tree config file wtpub://$SERVER_NAME/Libraries/CAD Standards/Creo/Configurations/tree.cfg."

Is compatible Creo 7 and Windows 10 V..2004?     Thanks

As a college student I downloaded Creo 6.0. But after I wanted to open the "setup.exe" nothing happened. Not even after disabling both of the firewall and antivirus. However from an another PC I managed to copy the necessary files to my own. I have the license the use it as a student. I copied the "license.dat" file to the right destination ("C:\ProgramData\PTC\Licensing") but still Creo cannot detect the file.   What should I do in order to Creo detect my license?   Thank you for your forwarding help!

Hello!   I have trouble figuring out how to force AFX to use our company's naming syntax. Here is an example: Lets say the ASM name is SHM-0001-030-001 (Which is the game as the  AFXproject name). What I would like to do is to force AFX to use the following names in the assembly for  (ITEM) profiles: SHM-001-030-001-01 SHM-001-030-001-02 SHM-001-030-001-03 SHM-001-030-001-04 ...and so on... Is it possible? What would be even better is to use this numbering for some of the equipment elements too. For example the equipment element (For example polycarbonat plate element) would be SHM-001-030-001-05 SHM-001-030-001-06 ... But in the same time some of the equipment elements are good as they are (for example ITEM wheels/caps etc...) because they are commercial product for us.    

I have a UDA created that works fine, but I need to obtain the results from it in text form. The UDA measures the X, Y and Z locations of a field point from a coordinate system. The field point is constrained to a surface. I would like to have BMX output the results to a text file instead of a colored "heat map". Since it creates this color map, Creo has the data somewhere, but I can only obtain the max or min value for this study. Any suggestions or good hacks out there to find the text file?   TIA

I originally posted this in the manufacturing subgroup, which is almost like talking to myself. Perhaps someone here will have some idea...We have access to a programmable CMM machine that can be driven by PC-DMIS software. I'd like to be able to pre-program the inspection program for a part using Creo, so I won't have to tie up the inspection machine defining the picks, etc.Does anyone have any experience with performing this function with Creo? I seem to recall something like Pro/CMM or the like being promised, never saw anything concrete or testable that we could experiment with. How do you folks approach the inspection of complex contoured parts that have surface profile tolerances and the like?

Hello - I updated my ifx_screw_data.cfg file for the "MIN and MAX Screw-in depth for screws".  In my example, I set the max depth for a 1/4 diameter screw to be .626 inches.  But, when I select a screw that creates a .625 inch depth, it is still showing red in the preview.  I thought that changing theses values in the ifx_screw_data.cfg file would cause the preview to show green between the new min and max range that I set.  I closed out of Creo and re-started but my changes still don't seem to have taken affect.  What am I missing?   Thanks  

Not sure this is the right area for this question, but here goes. When I do a PDF plot from the Print menu, all of the lines and text are black, except a custom color for Pen 1 which is red. When I do a plot on the server automatically from a Windchill check-in or just manually from Windchill, the custom color text is still red, the text in tables and table lines are black, but the format border, text pulled from parameters and object lines are blue. Both Creo installs are using the same pen table pulled from a server location. The recipe file on the Windchill server has the Use pentable checked. The only difference is the server install of Creo 4.0 in M080 and the local install on the Windchill server for publishing is M110. It is just one of those low level things that if I can find out what is causing the difference would be nice to fix.

In the first cloumn I would like to show the drawing dimension name (coming from the drawing) and in the second one to show the dimension value with/without tolerances (also coming from the drawing, not from the model). Hi, I have a shape that I have to mill, making an assembly of foam plates.So I have a creo master part as first part (skeleton) in an assenbly.It's the whole shape.Then I have to design about 30 plate parts.Than, I'm looking for a way to automate this parts creation that would  allow the shape to be changed and update all parts ? I can model plane surfaces in an assembly using repetition, for example.Planes parts could perhaps be design with family table ?I can't figure how to get all of parts in an assembly and generate all steps and drawing files.Any idea ?This process is similar to slicing softwares for 3D printing.It would be fine to be able to automate this as far as possible.Thanks

Once Creo start up, it loads tons of mapkeys that form corporate level. Personally i have my own mapkey saved in config.pro Very often, some shortcut will have conflict. How to let Creo only use mapkey that defined in config.pro?

I'd like to perform a simple heat and pressure analysis of a piston sliding into a cilinder. I setted up all the boundary, demain conditions, the physics etc.. How do i setup the remesh of the fluid since i want it to be compressible and, if possible, how can i make the piston moving at the same time?

But when i use ml, or md, the comand always goes to m. Looks like two letters doesn't work.

Hello   We can extract feature element tree and find out which edges would have been used for generation of chamfer feature.   As we all know, it is possible to have two different sets of edges for chamfer creation. Through element tree, we are able to get edges used into definition of chamfer feature.   Chamfer creates additional edges and we can identify all edges due to chamfer feature using feature geom item visit.   We would like to map how to map two edges one which was used in edge definition with edge generated due to chamfer.   Feel free to ask for clarification if something is not clear.
