Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hello,Is there a way to convert dimensions of a drawing view to draft entities while converting view containing the dims?It seems to work only for geometry lines.

How to stop a macro when you select a value with the right click, then resume the progress of the macro. Example: select a value in the layer tree.

The main premise is this; I would like to maintain a parametric bond with one part to another.  If I change 1 part I would like it to be able to update the other.   I tried a new technique where I have the frame of the imported model brought over as a Copy Geom.  From this imported surface frame I am using a referenced sketch which drives other details within the main model.   Everything worked great.   Then I moved the model that spawned the Copy Geom to another folder.  I thought things were good until I went through the history of the main model and the referenced sketch had failures.   I believe the failures were because the main model no longer sees the imported Copy Geom model.   Is there a way to maintain the link between the main model and the imported Copy Geom model if they are in separate folders?   We don't have Windchill if that would allow the permanent linkage.  I would like to know if there is any way of maintaining an e

Community,   When adding text, for example, to a parts table, after I double-click the cell where I want to enter the text, the Format tab activates, and the Style default is "none" (highlighted in blue).  I want the Style default to be "Default" (see red arrow below).  How can I change the Style default from "none" to "Default"?  Thanks in advance.

I have some parts and assembly that have paramters that are locked because they were created in Interlink. How can I unlock these parameters so they can be deleted?

I would like to know how can I change the Pipe Diameter from a piping segment.   I made my design not using the "Spec Driven" option.   I tryed going on "Modify", in modify Options marked "Line Stock", then I selected the segment, and finaly on the "Modify Linestock" I changed from the 4 inches to 3 inches as I needed. The problem is that the Ok button is greyed-out. I even tryed to create a new and added a new linestock it stays the same.     OK Greyed Outnot spec driven

I have a family table that I am building of hex head screws. I want to put the material marking on the head and it varies depending on the nominal diameter of the screw. I have created the 2 markings and currently have them added to my family table so a Y or N will select the proper one. Since I have the diameter driving the head in an IF/ENDIF section in the relations, How do I add a feature inside the IF/ENDIF segment for each size.Something like this:IF basic =='1/2"   nominal = .500   hd_flat = .750   hd_thk = .375   fid:head_mark_c = yes   fid:head_mark_d = noENDIFIs that even possible in a relation or must I move some of this code to Pro/Program? We have revised some old symbols that used to be Upper/lower case lettering to be all Upper case lettering. The old symbols are relocated to another directory, not under the current pro_symbol_dir defined in config.pro. When we go to select the symbol, the preview window shows it like we expect, all upper case. When it is dropped onto the drawing, it becomes the old Upper/lower case symbol. Using Windchill, no other drawings in the workspace or loaded in memory as the user erases all not displayed between drawings. We are on Creo 4 m080.   What would cause the system to grab a symbol from another directory that is not even a sub-folder of the main directory defined by pro_symbol_dir. The really confusing part is that sometimes we will get the all uppercase symbol.  

Is there an option in Creo that upon creation of a plane, the size of the plane is scaled to the size of its references.  the option is in the plane menu but a PIA to do this every time.  

We would like to see customizeable shakeways within sheetmetal NC like it is ruled out in  article 325903  If there is anyone craving this functionality please let us know and vote for our idea

I modified the restricted_paramaters.dat file this morning for a new person added to the checker drop down. When the user went to do his update, Creo said the file hade conflicts and he did the update. The new person got added, but when he went to another parameter to select a name, it did not show the list that is in the restriected_parameters.dat file. So the update did some of the parameters but not all. Really strange. Has anyone else seen this behavior.   Creo 4 m080

Is there a config option (hidden?) that will set the default axis length for the zoom-dependent property for a coordinate system. I know I can change it. And I have to, every time. It has a default right now of 37.060 inches. I want it to be 3 inches. Haven't been able to find something on this. I know there is a hidden option for the name text size, but haven't seen anything on the axis length. Using Creo 4 M060. (We are not fast to upgrade!)   Thanks

In my company, from last year I had to work on different workstations, based on their availability after shifts. And it can be hard for anyone, who has different files and folders in his dedicated system. In an organization, work files and folders can be neglected for some extent when you work in PLM and you have different logins to store the files from the network folders. You can access them from any device, anytime.   But when you have your software settings in your system, you will feel the real pain of migrating to new system, so did I. After studying the customizations storage path, I have learnt that I can avoid this UI gap in other systems in a simple way. I have made a short video on this. Please check this out.   In todays situation, when we are working remotely from system to system, we can definitely go mobile with UI and be more productive as we are on our own system.  What is take on this, please share in the comments.

I have an assembly with thousands of parts made from various aluminum extrusions. All of them have been assigned a material named "AL6061", and that material file has a custom aluminum appearance assigned to it, which is stored in the global.dmt in the materials folder. "global_appearance_file" points to that, and I have "mat_assign_appearance" set to yes. Everything seems to work fine, until......I need to change the generic aluminum color for some reason. I can load the global.dmt file into the editor, change the appearance, and then save it. Or do it manually or any other way I want. I can verify the changes are in the global.dmt, but the part colors never update unless I un-assign and then re-assign the material. Even with some scripting and automation, this is a tedious task on thousands of parts buried in configurable assemblies.This leads me to believe that the appearance definition is loaded into a part when a material is assigned, and stored with the part. Is there a way to quickly update an inheritance that is set manually update?   I have a model that I am using to drive many other models by turning on and off several features.  To prevent regeneration errors in upper level assemblies I have set the inheritance to manual update.  If it is set to automatic update, it will update during regeneration is the base model is in memory.  Also, there is a command, update inheritance in the RMB menu.  The update inheritance command (which sounds like a manual operation) is not available if the inheritance is set to manual update.   I have to edit definition to change it to automatic then edit definition again to change it back to manual.   The only method I have found so far, to speed up the process, is to use a mapkey which requires no deviation in the command flow such as checkout warnings.

Imagine having an assembly with patterned groups of bolts and nuts of different sizes. You want to include these components in the family table. The menu manager asks single or all. What does this mean? All components in the group? In the pattern? In the subassembly? In the main assembly? Does it make sense the menu manager even asks for this? In a pattern, the components are supposed to be the same right? Where can I see if CREO picks a single one or all of them? How can I change it from "single" to "all" and vice versa?

Hello. I'm new in Creo (version 6.0.4)  and I've a problem with color in drawings. I like the default color in part and assembly mode (with blue geometry when see the part in wireframe). But in drawing I want all the geometry black. If I change the color of geometry in System color from blue to black, it change in part mode and also in drawing mode. There is a way to change the color only in drawing mode?

Hi all,   I am running Creo 4.0 M050. On installation (a few years ago) I set system environment variable LM_BORROW_DURATION  to a value of 179 to allow for a longer period to borrow the license. I don't recall I was ever able to borrow for that maximum number of days. Around 150 days, more or less, that would work. I usually would start at ProE_Borrow with a value of 179, get an error 'Can not borrow that long' when Creo started, and decrement that number until Creo would accept it. Yesterday, I had to go as low as 35 days to borrow before Creo would accept it. So, there seems to be another mechanism besides LM_BORROW_DURATION that limits the number of days that you can borrow. Does anybody know what it might be? And how I can get around it?   PS. You would think that if Creo knows that it 'Can not borrow that long', it would be kind enough to let us know how many days it CAN borrow .... 🙄  😉   Kind regards Eddy

So the problem was the user would right-click on objects in the Reference Viewer and not get the menu commands to show.PTC replied with a request that we update video card drivers. I did that along with a bunch of other things (see below) and the problem remained.HOWEVER - I just started playing with all the controls on the Reference Viewer and discovered that if you shrink the window so that scroll bars appear in the reference viewer, and use the scroll bars to lower or raise the viewer, then the right-click menu will appear (see attached image).Weird. But it works.Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
