Creo+ and Creo Parametric

 

So I have a mapkey that exports a part to make it to a symbol. A problem I've found is that if csys and datum plane display is on, that will tend to be exported with it. No problem! I add an instruction to turn off the csys display, right? I know I've done this before. I record one and look at the code:   ~ Command `ProCmdEnvCsysDisp`  0;\   This should turn off the display of csys. Problem is, if the display is off, this is turning the display on! And this version:   ~ Command `ProCmdEnvCsysDisp`  1;\   Does exactly the same thiong. It's toggling, rather than turning on or off. I know in the past I've been struggling to GET it to toggle, rather than turn on or off (and there are old Community threads attesting to others struggling with the same thing), but now suddenly I can't get it to NOT toggle. Has this behavior been changed? How can I get the mapkey to turn off the display of csys if it's on?   I'm on Creo 4 M080, so it's not even a very recent

I'm a little off the path on this program so bear with me... Everything I am doing is happening in unmanned batch mode using toolkit. I am importing Step model assemblies into session, not linked to Windchill. I am then linking to Windchill while keeping these objects in session.   Objects with the same names as these just imported already exist in Winchill as placeholders.  These placeholders are .asm files that only contain a csys, and they are assembled into this master assy, using Csys contraints. (one simple constraint). Result is the assembly has these imported step files assembled in place to csys.Issue is, Creo realizes the component csys is not the same. So what I am looking to do is fix the component constraint, basically redefine.  ive read up on TK assembly, there is a lot there to grasp, and have studied the UG constraints.c sample. Hello community, I am using Creo version 6 (educational edition) for a couple of days now and designed a part which I would like to manufacture by using some milling processes. To do so, I click on file -> new -> manufacturing -> NC assembly -> ok, but the screen with the manufacturing options doesn't appear. Could someone please give me an advice of how to solve this issue? 🙂 Thanks for your support. MLC89

Hello all.   My previous coworker created a mold … and i want to be sure it fit with what the demand of our customer.   Is it a way to "fill" this mold and get the actual part ? If not, do you know any tips to do it ?

Is it possible to drag/move Datum Feature Symbol's beyond the referenced surface boundary? For example, the attached image show Datum A, and I'm not able to drag it beyond the surface perimeter. The best work-around I can find is to attach the DFS to a dimension witness line, but that's undesirable because I then have to go back and add the surface as a reference. I'd like to be able to move a DFS beyond the referenced surface similar to the attached drawing image. I'm currently using Creo 4 M040, but have tested this in Creo 5 M000, and the behavior is the same.

I have a harness made of multiple sub harnesses and I have been able to hide display of individual sub harnesses by selecting them in the footer and hiding.    However, I tried to suppress a sub harness and after resuming, I no longer have the ability to hide it.  The option is there and it will show the sub harness as hidden in the model tree.  But the actual sub harness remains visible.  This seems to be a bug, has anyone found a workaround?    note: I was able to fix by removing the cables from the subharness and immediately adding back.  But then it causes errors with flattened harness so I am looking for a different solution. 

I've got a part that I want to create a curve through utilizing several points created using a pattern.  Is there a way to have Creo select multiple points in numerical order (based off of feature name like PNT0, PNT1, PNT2, etc. all the way through until your last point)  instead of having to go through and manually select each individual point?  

Is there a way to have an assembly open and then pick and choose what you want to export?  either a new Creo file or a Step file or any file for that matter.

If I use the Properties UI to set a dimension2D as a Basic dimension how then can I find this Basic Dimension2D using the jlink API?   As an example, if a Dimension2D is set to be a Reference dimension then i can use the Dimension2D.GetIsReference() method to find Reference dimension.   I can not find an equivalent function for Basic dimensions, but i can imagine that i am not looking for it properly.   Any suggestions?   Tnx in advance!   johnu   Tnx! johnu 

How to sort bom according to discription in creo parametrics.  

Seems I used to know how to do this, but...  Basically I have an assembly with subassembly that is used in two different locations.  Think of a quick release pin with a cable lanyard on it.  The pin and cable hook on in different configurations for the two different locations.  I have created a family table in the subassembly to create the two configurations.  Assembled those into my assembly and created a drawing of the assembly.  When I add my BOM Table to the drawing, it shows the two instances separately.  What I want is for it to show a single line, quantity two, of the pin and cable top generic assembly.  I have tried using the asm.mbr.top_generic bit, but that STILL shows the subassembly on two lines of the BOM.  What am I missing???     thanks in advance!

Is there any way to set the location of the main window on the screen?  For some reason, when I launch Creo (4), the window opens in a location that is below & to the right of the top left corner of the screen like all my co-workers.  I have to move it up & against the left/top edges of the screen every time.  When I open another part, that new window also pops open in the lower offset location and must be moved.   I have tried deleting my config.pro & creo_parametric_customization.ui files and it makes no change (any combination or both).  I have gone to File > Options and tried to make changes there.  I have tried Window Settings: Restore Defaults.  I have tried to move it into the correct location & export the .ui & create a new .ui for my launch point.  Nothing changes this.     Even setting the config.pro option to open maximized has the window open full width to the screen, but still located down the sa

Recently a customer has replaced an old HP Designjet 5500PS plotter for a new HP Designjet T1700 plotter. Plotting from Creo 4.0 in the old plotter had no problems but with the new one the lines are very faint and some of them even vanished (as can be seen in the attached image). Plotting from PDF has no problems on both plotters.   Anyone using the same plotter or experiencing the same problems?

Hallo zusammen,leider habe ich ein Problem mit Creo Parametric 6.0. Für die Erstellung von Schablonen will ich große Muster anfertigen im 3D Modell. Diese werden auf verschiedenen Grundplatten ausgefräst, gelasert, ... . Bei der Erstellung der Muster werden die KEs immer sehr langsam berechnet. Die Rechnerleistung ist dabei in allen Bereichen bei Max 30%. Wie kann ich diese Herausforderung lösen, damit Creo mir die Muster schnell berechnet?LG Maurice

Hi, I checked a lot in this forum and over the internet but I can't find any help regarding the fact that you may use any profile geometry in Creo and that it is really taked into account in the toolpath generation. In the first photo there is a common tool geometry I use. It is like a bull mill but after the flute length there is a sloped section. I defined the tool like attached (maybe I did something wrong...I hope it !). The fact is that Creo does not take into account the "sloped zone" and when I go down milling a pocket I get collision. I mean, the tool doesn't get far from the wall as the diameter increases due to sloping. How can I manage that ? Also the next step would be the possibility to create special shaped tools to mill special grooves along lines. At this stage I see this like impossible...

Hello! I just did a static analysis and the results up to animate the displacement in the window. I know you're supposed to be able to save that animation as a video or GIF, but when I go to the save tabs all I see is .MRP or .MRS formats for savings the whole thing.So how do I go about getting a video/GIF out of here? Hello, In Creo 3, I could snap a datum feature symbol to a snap line in a drawing.  How is this now done in Creo 5?  I'm assuming much more simply. Thank you.

Hello,I would like to have the first angle projection symbol in my drawing template.  I have looked in Annotate>Symbols, but can't seem to find it.Is this symbol a standard symbol in Creo? Or where can I find this symbol?- Frederik

Currently we are running some external CFD analysis on parts of our robot to get the lift and drag coefficient and the center of pressure [1]. Dear all, Please help, I am trying to add some standard items to mold base definition file so that each time we can just download the pre-assigned mold base directly from emx. so far I am able to add what ever pre assigned parts, just by saving it ( Save assembly definition to file). but I want to add other standard items which are not preset (example shot counter, limit switch and support pillars).Please advise how this can be done.(we are in process of standardizing the mold assembly so this very important). we are using emx 13.0
