Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hello all,   I am wondering if it is possible to import a master model to a part without creating an external reference to the master model? So, rather than importing the geometry with a reference to the master model which would update when changes are made to the master, you would import the master, break the external reference on the import and be left with a direct model which will not update when the master is modified.   It's worth mentioning the reason behind my question. I am working on a model which will ultimately need to be stored using a document control system or PDM. The parts have been built using a top down approach and as such can not be stored independently from the assembly in which they were created. Am I correct in assuming that most doc control systems/PDMs are not compatible with the top down approach? Hi, I'm trying to configure modelcheck to add 2x parameters to every model in a large assembly.    I have model update set to Y, so model check is 'allowed' to modify the models to add params:   I have PARAMCHECK set to error:  And I have added parameters for it to check against:    But whenever I run the modelcheck regen or interactive, it reports 0 errors 0 warnings.     On that note, It's also appearing in the white box of the RHS of the screen but not in the in-built browser. I have used modelcheck in the grey/tan in-browser context before but have never seen that window/context appear on this computer, I've only ever had the white box.  I do have "Show Report" set to Y, which I thought would make it appear in the browser but it's not working.        Can anyone shed some light on this please? I don't fancy having to manually define the parameters in every single part/aseembly   Thanks

Hi   I'm currently working on modeling parts for the railway. There is a big number of poles that needed to be modeled. I'm looking for a clear, structured way to generate instances of the pole, preferably without making a "standard" family table.   [context] Mind you, there are 40 types of beams, 20 different lengths, around 10 different drilling sets and each drilling set has a multitude of different configurations. In theory, based on the drawings, there are around 30 trillion different poles (thanks government). In practice I'm guessing at least 0.1% of the poles are realistically used. [context]   Ideally, I'm looking for a "family table system" that asks which features must be included when importing the pole part in an assembly, instead of choosing a family member from the list. Basically: 1. have assembly in active window 2. assemble and open the pole part in assembly 3. window appears: prompt for profile type and select one: HEB/HEA/HEM 4. window appears: prompt

Hi I created a logic parameter (type "Yes No"), with "YES" or "NO" in several parts. when I display the parameter in a table in a drawing the values are showing up at "TRUE" OR "FALSE". Is there a way to get them to show as "YES" "NO" ?   also my part description parameter (type "String") is too short for the customers descriptions is there a way to increase the length? I have an ongoing issue that has persisted since switching over to CREO 4.0. Whenever I am working in a drawing and want to edit a table and select the "Table" tab for the first time, it takes an agonizingly long time to load. As I write, it has been 10 minutes and it still hasn't loaded. This is clearly unacceptable. I have checked my video drivers and they are all up to date. Has anyone else experienced this and come up with a solution? Also, it's slow when I want to change my working directory, but not as slow as the table tab issue.

Hello forum,   we create lots of annotation sets (custom views) in Creo View, particularly including sections. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to add fill patterns (e.g. hatches) to the section surfaces in Creo View.   Therefore, this has to be done by someone who has access to Creo Parametric. However, it seems that the sections that have been created in Creo View (as annotation sets) can't even be opened and then edited in Creo Parametric.   Is this true, or are we missing something?   If it should both not be possible to a) add fill patterns/hatching to sections in Creo View (which is currently the case) and b) to open sections in Creo Parametric that have been created in Creo in View (in order to add fill patterns/hatchings to the sections in Creo P), this is a serious drawback, because it makes it factually impossible to create norm compliant sections from Annotation Sets.   Thanks for ideas and/or cons

The main premise is this; I would like to maintain a parametric bond with one part to another.  If I change 1 part I would like it to be able to update the other.   I tried a new technique where I have the frame of the imported model brought over as a Copy Geom.  From this imported surface frame I am using a referenced sketch which drives other details within the main model.   Everything worked great.   Then I moved the model that spawned the Copy Geom to another folder.  I thought things were good until I went through the history of the main model and the referenced sketch had failures.   I believe the failures were because the main model no longer sees the imported Copy Geom model.   Is there a way to maintain the link between the main model and the imported Copy Geom model if they are in separate folders?   We don't have Windchill if that would allow the permanent linkage.  I would like to know if there is any way of maintaining an e

Community,   When adding text, for example, to a parts table, after I double-click the cell where I want to enter the text, the Format tab activates, and the Style default is "none" (highlighted in blue).  I want the Style default to be "Default" (see red arrow below).  How can I change the Style default from "none" to "Default"?  Thanks in advance.

I have some parts and assembly that have paramters that are locked because they were created in Interlink. How can I unlock these parameters so they can be deleted?

I would like to know how can I change the Pipe Diameter from a piping segment.   I made my design not using the "Spec Driven" option.   I tryed going on "Modify", in modify Options marked "Line Stock", then I selected the segment, and finaly on the "Modify Linestock" I changed from the 4 inches to 3 inches as I needed. The problem is that the Ok button is greyed-out. I even tryed to create a new and added a new linestock it stays the same.     OK Greyed Outnot spec driven

I have a family table that I am building of hex head screws. I want to put the material marking on the head and it varies depending on the nominal diameter of the screw. I have created the 2 markings and currently have them added to my family table so a Y or N will select the proper one. Since I have the diameter driving the head in an IF/ENDIF section in the relations, How do I add a feature inside the IF/ENDIF segment for each size.Something like this:IF basic =='1/2"   nominal = .500   hd_flat = .750   hd_thk = .375   fid:head_mark_c = yes   fid:head_mark_d = noENDIFIs that even possible in a relation or must I move some of this code to Pro/Program?
