Hi, I'm sorry if it's been asked before, but I haven't found anything. When i importing an image to put it on a plan the image looks very strange. I tried with bitmap and png but both don't work 😕 The image is a drill. thank you in advance!
Hello; I am writing a Jlink app for our ME team to place informational custom (aka User) symbols on Drawing2Ds. The app jarfile and the symbol file are both installed into the users ptc/creo3/ directory: Directory of C:\Users\bob.smith\ptc\creo305/07/2020 11:18 AM <DIR> .05/07/2020 11:18 AM <DIR> ..04/01/2020 04:46 PM 27 config.pro05/07/2020 11:20 AM 14,559 autoplacer.jar05/06/2020 10:24 AM 4,343 autoplace_test.sym the code in the jar file uses RetrieveSymbolDefinition() to load the DetailSymbolDefItm DetailSymbolDefItem DefItm =prts_dwg.RetrieveSymbolDefinition("autoplace_test", null, null, null); The good news is that it finds the symfile. The bad news is that it fails to load it and tosses an XToolkitFound exception. The stack looks like this: C:\Users\john.utz\ptc\creo3>more pst.txtcom.ptc.pfc.Implementation.pfcExceptions$XToolkitFoundat com.ptc.pfc.Implementation.PFCRemoteCommImpl.makeObject(PFCRemoteCommImpl.java:2144)at co
I'm using Creo 4.0. I have a line in a Sketch that I am dragging back (selecting the line and Ctrl select the endpoint) to an endpoint of another line, hoping that it will automatically create a coincident constraint and close my sketch (At least that's what happened on the YouTube tutorial I was watching). I'm having no luck with this. I'm aware that I could use the CORNER command, but I would just like to know why this isn't working for me?
Hello. I am facing a desperate situation right now. We received from our customer a 3D model and an excel file containing a point cloud from their CFD analysis. The excel file is structured. There are the x-y-z-coordinates of each point and every point have also an information about the force that is applied in the particular point (also x-y-z-triplet). With this information our aim is to make a FE-Analysis. I managed to write a macro that exports the coordinates into an .pts file that Creo Parametric can handle. In the modeling environment I can see the points in 3D space. But how can I import these information into Creo Simulate? I could import the point cloud and apply the forces manually to every point. But we have ~5000 points, that would be wasting of time. My first idea was to use the excel macro to generate a file that Creo uses to read all the information about where the points are located and which load is applied. As far as i know Creo Simulate stores the "load
Greetings, Totally non-Creo. Tapping your drafting skills. I have wondered from time to time. Perhaps it is written? Please see attached. If AA is a section and a view BB is taken from a section - can the view be shown in full or does one assume its partial? Thanks, Wayne
Hi all I am working on a project at the moment that has two issues. The first issue in this post.I have created a turret assembly with 8 pockets, and have constraint it with axis & angular constraints.and then using parameter & relations to set the position.now this work fine with the first half of the turret up to 180 degreesthe pockets line up correct, but as soon as I pass 180 it reverts. and the wrong pockets line up.does any one know of a solution so I can rotate 360 degree.Peter
Hello, is it possible to calculate number of total bends in a pipe? thanks
Hello, in CREO 5, I am detailing a relatively small part. The part contains 2 mounting holes that are located by an arc that is relatively large compared to the size of the part. When I place a view into the drawing and show this dimension, the dimension is far outside of the drawing view because it references the axis of the large arc. In other words, the axis is not part of the drawing view boundary. Consequently, neither is the dimension. I want to show the dimension, but not consume the entire sheet of the drawing. I'd like to break the view and bring the axis closer to the part, showing the dimension with a double-arrow. I think this is perfectly legal and reasonable to do. Can anyone explain the process to execute this type of detailing? Thank you.
Is there a way to reload manually edited mapkeys without having to restart Creo? Thanks
Hi all, I have a doubt about how to do show dimensions in Creo Layout. I need to show the value of coordinates of a point that is the common point among 2 segments. I did the 2 segments and then I created the point at their intersection. The fact is that instead of showing the coordinates of the point,I can only show the angle of one of the segment with one of the 2 axis (x-y). Then how can I show the x-y coordinates of that point? Thank you in advance

Hi Modelers, Using Creo 4. I am designing a complex air duct. The duct has two different inlet/out profiles, sweeps downward and moves right to left. There is an mid wall inside the duct which at the inlet end sits about a third to the left hand side and then finishes in the middle at the outlet. My design approach has been to complete a wire frame of reference sketches, datum points and splines to achieve the shape. I then use boundary blends to make up the different duct wall sections. I then merge the walls, thicken and remove the excess. Wire frame Boundary blends Thickened - Outlet End Rear Iso View - Inlet End The challenge I face is to maintain a constant (or close to) smooth inner duct chamber profile on both sides. As air flows through each duct chamber the goal is for a stable airflow speed (little increase) and minimal pressure drop at the outlet. This is achieved by transitioning between the start/end profiles in a smooth fashion without coll
Hi, i'm new on CREO (3 month). new job new company. i used to work on different software to create 3D harnesses. i have an issue today regarding Harness Mfg. we just got the licence i try to flatten simple harness. it work (sometime) but when i want to use a component to route my harness sometime it will work and sometime i got the following message: Unsupported Axial Topology when i remove the component from the path it will be ok, but i use the same component somewhere else and it is working fine so i don't understand what is happening. i think the part i use to route the wire is created properly as it is working fine somewhere else if someone has an idea i will appreciate. Thanks Ced1
I built a new template model that included 4 variations for machined, non-machined, holes removed and simulation states. After submitting the template I wanted to cross check it. When I go to open the template I see that all family table instances are available for picking. I chose the generic. I went to family table to check the other instances. There was no family table in the model that once had a family table. By any chance is there a way to get the family table to work in a template? The work around of course is to save the file to a specific location and do a file save as, but the template interface is more streamlined.
OK - So this is a shameless plug for Nitro-BOM ... BUT..... There is a nice example within this video regarding an Excel Macro to automatically transfer Excel Data (Assembly Number, Cost Summary and BOM Tables) to Microsoft Word Document and save off a new version --- e.g. Customer Quotation based on CAD Assembly Data and Cost Summaries. https://youtu.be/cFhbQzxwhkE
When we build a frame using AFX, we get many items in the BOM, totaled by Quantity. I saw a demo video of Framework where they had a secondary BOM that totaled the items by part number, individual length, quantity and then a total length. We need the total length for purchasing to enable them to order the stock items. How is this total put into a BOM? If someone has a sample BOM table you can upload, that would be very helpful. We are currently on Creo4 m080 with Windchill 11.0 m030.
I haven't used the Reference Viewer for some time but I am trying to track down a circular reference. I have watched several videos that go through the process and all have a "Paths" tab in the Reference Viewer which I do not have. Did something change in Creo 4.0 or earlier that got rid of the Paths tab?
All, Hopefully my attached pic explains what I am looking for. I am trying to get "A/R" in a bom that uses all Col/Reps. Default is "1". These are all Bulk Items. Creo 6.0. Thanks, Wayne
Hello! In Java OTK it is possible to use Visit Methods (Creo 7 JavaUser’s Guide page 52). I'm don't understand how to implement interface com.ptc.wfc.wfcClient.VisitingClient to past it to one of Visit Methods. Anybody has experiences with this? Can you provide shot sample of code? In our condition file we use model units as one of the conditions. We are having the issue that some of our INCH files are pulling the correct files and others are not. With my testing we are about half and half working vs not working. I have looked at the system units name and settings within them. They are all the same. I have some that work and some that don't with the same system units name. I am stumped as to why some would work and others would not...Ideas were to look?
Hello, I'im wondering if it would be possible to automaticaly assign the drafter name of a part to a parameter ? Based on the mac adress or the host id for example. Is it possible to retrieve one of these two values within Creo Parametric ?
Are there any plans to ensure that we can use it in AZURE?If yes which time line could you give me?Currently our company plans to move all server into the AZURE cloud until the end of this year. Therefore it would be really important for us to have this ability.
