Hi all, I ran into a frustrating issue on Friday afternoon where I restored a previous frame from my event log & then my entire workspace was gone/cleared. A run-down of the process: -working on a specific part before lunch; saved part to workspace (did not upload), restarted computer while I made lunch -approximately 30 minutes later, loaded saved part to session & noticed that none of the changes I previously made were there; checked event log to make sure save went through & found frame that confirmed save action happened -clicked on "apply this event", waited, & was then asked to clear my session; hit yes, & then suddenly everything in my workspace was gone (all local/uploaded/modified changes lost) Why in the world would this happen? I probably lost ~2 weeks of work because of this. Thanks. EDIT: Creo version 5.0.4 & Windchill version 11.0
Am I not understnding the syntax for allowing negative values? I get the following error d22=asin(1.4607*sin(d21))errorInvalid attempt to assign negative value -0.875425deg to 'D22'. Precede the symbol with '$' to allow negative value. but after adding $, I get the following error $d22=asin(1.4607*sin(d21))errorInvalid left side of assignment
I have been trying to use Creo Simulate Live, just to see how it works, but when I start a simulation, I don’t get any results (see picture below). I tried running the same setup in Creo Simulation and got it to display results in there. Am I missing something in Creo Simulate Live to show me the correct results? I used a load of 25lbf down on the top, and fixed the bottom surface.
Hello, I am currently designing a tambourine in Creo, when attatching the cymbals to a rod in the assembly I have cylinder constrained them. The problem I am having is that the cymbals are overlapping as they move along this rod - is there a way of constraining the cymbals to not overlap with each other as they move? The cymbals can all theoretically occupy the same space, I just don't want them to at the same time, any help on this would be greatly apprecfiated - cheers!
Hello, I want to ask if anyone know the relation between pixel unit and millimeter in Creo? I would like to set the radius of the ray line, but I don't know how to get the pixel value with mm size.
Hello, I am trying to put together a tool path for a Makino A71 with the part rotating about the B axis while surface milling. I have a pretty good understanding / experience with using this machine with sequences that reference individual coordinate systems that result in the B Axis being locked in different rotations under the same operation. What I'd like to do is surface mill around a part that actively rotates while milling. I've dabbled with some theoretical parts that were simple and everything appears to work OK in Vericut. The part I'd like to machine has a very irregular surface and cannot be cut with a helical or trajectory path. There doesn't seem to be much guidance available on this, through PTC, this site or youtube. I am certain that there are PTC users out there that can do this with their machines. If I accomplished it, it'd be a first for a user at my company. Does anyone have any advice on how to make
Hi all, As usual, I find the 501.772mm default plane size too large. We had the planes resized down to 100 x 100 in our start part, but with the resize option checked the planes don't scale anymore. Is there any way to change the default from 501 down to 100 but leave the resize box un-checked such that the planes scale to fit the part? Unchecking the resize box leaves the size at 100 x 100 until I click OK, then it scales back up to 500mm odd. Extruding a cube in the start part which every user would have to delete isn't exactly an elegant solution so I'm not keen on that approach.
Gurus,In my assembly I replaced a screw with another which made my cross section fail. I get the following: "WARNING: highlighted loop in cross-section B may be incomplete." And the screw is red with no hatching. I open the screw part and try to put a x-section through it and I get the following: "Cross-section fails to intersect part." I verified the screw is a solid, tried .sat and .stp imports, and tried moving the x-section so it is offset from center. So what stops pro/e from cutting a cross section thru a part?Wildfire 4.0 Datecode m220Windchill PDMLink 10.0 Datecode m030Thanks,Eric
Hi, How can I measure wire length between 2 location points? I am able to measure length of a segment but not between 2 location points of my choosing. I'm using Creo 4.0 cabling module. Thank you.
Hi there, Currently, it is not possible to manage licenses via PTC "Manage Licenses" tool. https://support.ptc.com/apps/licensePortal/auth/ssl/index
We did a webinar last week with Elite Digital Enterprise to help educate people on Microsoft Excel Tables and Power Query functionality. The Webinar was focused on Bill of Materials (BOM) Data, covering the problems typically encountered using conventional Excel Approaches (Cell Address/Named Range References) and why Excel Tables and especially Power Query should be more widely used/adopted. Creo BOM export techniques and options were also covered as well as a live example of exporting Creo BOM data to Excel Tables (via Nitro-BOM) and Manipulating them with Power Query to automatically summarize costs. We hope you find this webinar useful. Intro to Excel Tables and Power Query for Creo Users!
hey, I have this problem when I try to drag a component while the component is defined correctly a component dissapears. In this case the black beraings as you can see in the first picture dissepear imediatly when I click drag component and I don't know why , can somebody please help me ? thanks a lot !!
Hi I have a large assembly where I need to show different set ups by simply turning some sub assemblies on/off. So to that end I am using the Layers tab in View Manager. When I hide a sub assembly, the layer state name prompts with a plus sign to indicate a save is required, and it works. But, if I want to show a sub assembly but hide an assembly within it, this can't be saved to the display name, that is, turning off a "sub-sub assembly" doesn't trigger the Later state name to update. If you all can think of workaround to one click, show these items, another click show other items, that would be great. Cheers Rick
After creating drawing in creo ,When i convert creo drawing to auto cad drawing ,after opening the converted auto cad drawing the text are going out of the template boxes ,then i have to Readjust, and change text style which is totally annoying considering i have to id in around about more than 100 drawings which takes lot of time 1. Is their any way by which i can stop text going out of content box after conversion to auto cad from Creo. 2. I am Attaching a image few of lines are hidden due to Privacy concern. 3. in the image you can see that text have gone out of template which was okay in creo drawing. Thank you all hoping for a better solution
hello i have a big issue I need to export a drawing with dimensions in igs extension is posible this ?
Hi, I want to delete creo files from a particular folder. Please let me know if any c++ toolkit api is available for this. Thanks and regards, Sekar
This is the common question going around the office; we use dual dimensioning on all our drawings, we have everything setup so the dual dimensions display. However, what happens is the second dimension is usually placed below the line on the dimension and then we have to select, properties and select to right rather than below. Is there anyway to make sure these automatically come in the position 'To Right' rather than below? I'm pretty sure there isn't but I'm hoping this is just something I can't find.
Hi I need to run this package but I cannot find anywhere what is the recommended configuration for the hardware running this one. Someone could help me ? thank you
I would like to create a reference patten of curves based on two existing pattern of points on two different curves (on different datum planes). It is only working for one of two point pattern. All curves are coming from on single point. These are the steps I would like to do to get the pattern: Create two curves on parallel datum planes Create the first point pattern (all points on the curve with the same distance to each other) Create the second point pattern on the second curve Connect one point from the first pattern with another from the second Create a reference pattern with that curve (that is the thing that is not working) Create a sweep on the curve and have another reference pattern Has somebody an idea, how to get such reference pattern of the curve?
dear All, why i cannt cast WSession from Session? class CommandConvertTolerances extends DefaultUICommandActionListener { public void OnCommand() { try { WSession session = (WSession) pfcSession.GetCurrentSession (); // WSession wSession = null; // // if (wSession instanceof WSession) // wSession = (WSession)session; Model model = session.GetCurrentModel(); // WModel wm = (WModel)model; java.lang.ClassCastException: com.ptc.wfc.Implementation.pfcSession$Session cannot be cast to com.ptc.wfc.wfcSession.WSession Thanks! Robert
Hi, I would like to find out how the LCS (local coordinate system) of a mechanism body is determined in the CREO mechanism module. Does anyone know how the system calculates this CSYS? Background of my question: I am trying to export the rotational placement of a certain body by using the Euler angle 1-2-3 measures in a kinematic study but these always refer to the body's LCS and I don't know where that is compared to the parts/assemblies inside that body. Thanks a lot for your help!
Calling all "Gear Heads", I'm having trouble finding an old Creo planetary model, and recalling, exactly how to define the gear-pair to establish proper planetary gear motion in MDX/MDO. My system is a simple epicyclic set with 3 planets. My trouble is defining the ring gear. I seem to recall there is a trick to how to define the ring gear's assignment so MDX understands it's an inward facing involute set and provides proper movement and torque & speed transfer. I don't want to use a "generic" gear type. I can't seem to find anything on-line, within PTC support, or inside this community - what's the trick I'm not able to recall? TIA
Looking to find a repeatable way to measure only the exposed area of a large assembly with 1000's of surfaces to find a more accurate area to estimate paint, I've tried a shrinkwrap but that gives the measurement of everything it looks like still, as it keeps all the surfaces of each part, and clicking each surface separately only allows 40 surfaces to be picked at each time
We have made the jump from creo 3.0 to creo 4.0, when we are plotting our detailed drawings they have gone back to printing the dimensions in yellow, we are looking for them to print in black. Does anyone know where the config for this is?
Hi Everyone, I have a table where I'm showing the parameter values from a family table part. I would like to have the address pulled from one or more parameters and populate a cell with multiple lines of text in a repeat region like the example in the image below. Could someone explain how to set this up or point me to a document or URL with more info? I have been playing with the repeat regions and filters and have had no luck getting the address cell to populate correctly. I'm trying to used a separate parameter for each line of text. Thanks for any help you can provide! Don Anderson
