I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.6.0A sketch is considered used even after the feature that used it is deleted.I like to disable the Used Sketch option in Tree Filters because I don't like cluttering my tree with unnecessary sketches. If I use a Sketch 1 in an Extrude 1, Sketch 1 appears nested under Extrude 1 and Sketch 1 no longer appears at the top level of the tree. If I then delete Extrude 1, Sketch 1 does not reappear. Not until I re-enable the Used sketch option in Tree Filters. This does not make sense because Sketch 1 is no longer being used. Why does this happen? What is the purpose of a Used sketch filter if sketches which are no longer used don't show up again? How do I delete a feature and leave the sketch "unused"?
Dear users, I am very new of PTC Creo (in the past I used other CADs) but actually I am using Creo 3.0 M050. I am designing an assembly with the Top/down technique: the components and sub-assemblies are driven by parameters defined in a Notebook file (in Creo 3.0 it is still called Layout file). Obviously, during the work, I did some tests and now my Notebook file presents obsolete parameters. These parameters are no longer used in any part file, but I can not delete them (in the Tools ------> Parameters menù of the Notebook file). If I try to delete a parameter that is used in a part (called for instance "xxx") of the main assembly, I get a message that that parameter refers to part xxx (rightly!). If I try to delete an "old" parameter, the message reports that this parameter refers to the Notebook file and so I can delete it; but this does not seem logical to me, because it is a redundancy. How can I then delete the parameters defined in a Notebook fil
Hello,(I am not sure if this is the right place to post) I am running into an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in the Creoson server that I cannot reproduce consistently. Basically, I am working with a pipeline using creopyson to post JSON requests (via the JLink interface, if I understand correctly) to build each of multiple assemblies (e.g. 100s of assemblies, each containing 10s of components) in Creo 5.0.6, in succession (one after another). The command that is used to start the Creoson server is the following and is called from a .bat script before starting Creo and then starting a design automation python script that connects to the running creoson server using creopyson and sends JSON requests:"%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java" -classpath "%cp%" -Dsli.jlink.timeout=200 -Dsli.socket.port=%JSON_PORT% com.simplifiedlogic.nitro.jshell.MainServer"After some yet unknown conditions occur (I originally just thought it was the jlink timeout parameter causing the issue, but increasing this to e.g. 9000 did
Hello, I have been trying to add an excel table into a creo drawing and when I import the csv file into the drawing the data is separated by commas and I get only one-column table. Does anybody know how to fix this so that I get all the columns and a table that looks like to one I have in excel? Thank you for your help.
Hello,I've just started using the excel analysis feature on Creo 7 to link values from an excel sheet to my 3Dmodel.Everytime I link some sketch dimensions to the excel file the model updates without any issues, however when I also link some feature dimensions to the excel file (i.e: extrude lengths, offset dimensions)... it starts giving me problems, the model does not update anymore and it also creates some temporary files with previous value dimensions... Has anybody had similar problems and knows how to fix this? Thank you in advance

This is a flat disc inside a stack of hundreds of discs. Is this a prank by a hacker?(BTW, company is buying Abaqus FEA, after having dropped CREO and started to use SWX. I am supporting Simulate, however, please make these non-stop glitches disappear.)

I was wondering about the GD&T advisor extension after seeing this pop up when I started my Creo session: Looks like I missed the webcast. Usually the resource center isn't displayed at startup for me, but today I was borrowing a license so my startup script was bypassed. Anyway, seems to me that the underlined callout is nonsense - I assume that the screenshot was created by someone in the marketing department who was not paying attention to the content. So would the GD&T advisor flag such "errors"? In this case, I am curious if the surface that defines the datum "A" is tagged, and so then when applying a control to it specifies its position with regard to datum "A", the system would alert the user, or flag this kind of a circular reference error with an underline or an exclamation mark icon.
This seems like a basic question, but I can no longer delete table rows in my drawings. Columns are easy (RMB > delete). Rows I'm at a loss. Can anyone help me?
I have a specific case where a part is present in the model but i am do not want it in the BOM table. Unfortunately the part is referenced by a lot of other parts hence suppressing or deleting it is not an option. I tried to strike through for the person reading the drawing to not add it but its weight is added in the total. I want that to update. Any ideas?
is there any way to add custom "text" to end of drawing parameter relation below? we'd like to truncate the "model name last 3 characters" then add text "DOC1"for our drawing title blocks DOC_NO=extract(rel_model_name(),1,string_length(rel_model_name())-3)"DOC1" thanksRich
Hi all, there is a sample code taken from PTC that should open file via jlink. But unfortunately I Receive an error.Any idea how to fix it in Creo 7??
Hi all, I am wondering if this is a bug, or just another missing feature. A range of the products we design include a cavity into which a series of modules are placed. I am working on ETO orders, so each one can be set-up differently, but the modules are all placed to a particular reference. Currently when I insert a pattern of modules, I am able to make a linear pattern of 7 (the max for the unit) and hide/disable/exclude any particular members. If I want to include a blanking module, I then have to align it to the last in the pattern. If I then revisit the model and want to create a variation with a different module set-up, I have to re-align the blanking module to the last module. If I were able to set up both the modules and the blanks up as patterns of 7 (max for the unit) starting from the same point, I could use the nodes to exclude and include as required, rather than having to constantly re-align the blanks. The original member cannot be excluded from the pattern how

I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.3.0Hi,I am having an issue with the ptcdbatch.bat: some of the parts that get created using the batch script are not added to the PCBA when I import the emn and emp files.I don't have that issue if I manually import the step files into Creo.Note: that I am using the same config.pro file in both cases.
I was trying to create an isolated small surface "region" in a big surface like the small rectangular surface patch on the above enclosure. I am going to export its step file into ANSYS then mesh the small patch and name it as "leak inlet", so that it can be used in CFD simulation as an inlet BC. However, there is no document or instructions on how to do it. My real "enclosure" is very complicated. I failed to export its step file into SpaceClaimer or ModelDesigner, therefore "imprint" is not available. If the small surface region can be created in CREO (just like in Simulate) then export to ANSYS mesh tool, everything becomes easy. Is there anyway to create this small surface region in CREO? Thanks.
Hi all, Attached is an image of the mass properties window that is accessed via File > Prepare > Model Properties > Mass Properties. My mass is showing incorrectly here, as well as in the drawing, (parameter PRO_MP_MASS). Essentially, PRO_MP_MASS is not updating at all. I am calculating mass properties by regenerating (ctrl + g), and pressing calculate in the aforementioned window. In the green box, it can be seen that the Mass parameter is not necessarily calculated, but looks like it is an input as it is not greyed out like the others. In my other assemblies, this Mass parameter IS greyed out, but it is not here, for some reason. Yes, I have 'mass_property_calculate automatic' in my config.pro file. Yes, all of the subcomponents have materials specified, and have been regenerated/mass properties calculated, too. Yes, I looked on the forum for similar situations, to no avail. Any ideas for fixing this? Thank you!
Hello my friends, I need your generous help again. This is not exactly the toolkit issue, but of the possibilities of Creo Parametric itself. If you think that is the wrong place to rise it, please refer me to the right forum. So: I need to export out an .STL file from model. I use toolkit function ProIntfSliceFileWithOptionsMdlnameExport()which takes ProModel handle as parameter. It works perfectly fine, but I'm required to perform an export on several models at once. My question is how do I combine several models in one? I'm looking to the possibility of using Solid Bodies. Is this a right direction or you would recommend me any other approach? There is a one important thing I forgot to mention - all models of this are of the same geometry and belong to the same part or assembly. Thanks and BR-
Creo 7.09 Win 11 Pro When placing UDF features the placement UI window is not accessible after selecting the first placement reference. When operating correctly, the user should be able to switch focus between the target model window and the UDF placement window to map references. I am able to place a UDF successfully but not with the benefit of using the UDF placement UI window. The same issue occurs when using copy paste special of features between models. The placement window is not accessible after mapping a reference. Has anyone else see this happen?
I am modeling an electronics chassis with circuit cards in it. The material properties of the PCBs are defined in the model and they are showing as solid components in the simulation domains list. The fluid domain appears to appropriately have "negative space" where the PCBs are. However, when I run the model and I try to investigate the surface temperatures of the PCBs by selecting them in "boundary conditions", selecting "yes" for surfaces and "Temperature" for a variable, nothing shows up. When I do a cut plane through the chassis, the heat dissipation from the PCBs is obviously changing the air temperature, but I can't see the PCBs themselves I'm a relatively new user so I suspect there's something basic I'm missing. I've reviewed the tutorials and online documentation and it's not obvious to me what's going on. @tmoser you were very helpful yesterday - much appreciated! If you have any insight t
I have an assembly that for the life of me I can't figure out what the issue is. For starters I am using Creo 6 and I have an assembly that contains 3 parts in it, with 2 of the parts being assembled using mechanism constraints. The two assembled parts are completely independent of each other where one is a ball connection and the other part is using a slot and planar connection. When I try to drag either of the components with both parts unsurpassed I get the error message that "the mechanism could not be assembled since some mechanism constrains have not been satisfied". However if I suppress either one of the two components I can drag either one with no error messages. Again both components are completely independent of each other so I can't figure out why I am getting this message that the constraints have not been satisfied. I've attached the files for anyone that would like to I would greatly appreciate anyone that can help me unders
