Hai all, Please let me know how to change the default draft angle value in part modeling.By default it will be 1.00°, I want to change it to 0.50°. I know it will be somewhere in config file but not able to locate.
Hi all,I create an assembly's UDF that assembles a component and creates the necessary machining. just a hole in my case. When I create the hole, I check the Part Nivel option in the intersection tab.and when I reproduce the UDF, the hole remains in Assembly Nivel.someone knows how to keep the intersection option?thanksRon
I'm working on a very large assembly in Creo 5, which is some legacy hardware created by a group that no longer exists. I don't know what version the assembly was created in, but it was done in 2000. I had numerous errors upon opening the assembly, all of which I was able to solve except this last one. There is a part that was apparently used as a skeleton. It is full of surface ids, created off of surface sets. The problem is, the feature which has failed has a missing reference of a surface set. But since there are no surfaces to redefine the feature to, I can't fix the missing reference. It won't allow me to use a datum plane either. I can't delete the feature, because half the items in the top-level assembly fail.At a loss for how to solve this. Hoping someone has a trick up their sleeve. Thanks in advance.
Hi Folks, im trying to draw a model for a sinusoidal stent on creo to later be used in ANSYS as a part of my final year project in college,(Stent FEA) ive started by drawing the sine wave using an equation in creo, then mirrored this pattern to create a flat wall, im looking now to make the pattern into a cylinder shape before selecting my geometry for the analysis. but im having serious trouble getting the stent to wrap, ive tried a toridal bend but no joy! any one have any ideas or can help? ive attached some files below. im also looking to have a different material in the core of the stent, but ill take it one step at a time! Thanks! EDIT** ive added a second folder (two materials) with a sine wave with two materials, but i cant now get it to pattern into the amount of lines i want. Hi All, I'm facing a very annoying issue I can't get solved. In Creo 3.0 this program helped me a lot by creating hundreds of PDF files for me. Now since I'm on Creo 4.0 - M110 I'm trying to do the same but it keeps failing after the second object. The first 2 object are running as usual but then it hangs for about 15minutes and fails the rest of the objects. In the log file the following error is showed but I don't know what to do with it. "Connected to Creo Pro | Failed | [-1] Error: General problem during data conversion." Thanks in advance for the help!
Hello community!! I read about how object toolkit c++ works and I have a query related to it. If I am not wrong visual studio is used as IDE/compiler to write, compile and run object toolkit c++ application code and link with object toolkit c++ libraries. Or is there an IDE/compiler of creo object toolkit c++ to compile and run the programs of object toolkit? I am confused regarding the role of otk_install_app, creotk.dat file and otk_install.sln directory which specifies visual studio solution. Awaiting your replies and suggestions... Regards, Rohan
In article CS268117 there is a solution only for PDF documents. How can we handle other filetypes? Regards Jochen
Hi all, Is there a way to turn off the section outline in Creo 3.0. I have found that you can change the colour by changing the "Letter" colour in Options>system colours>graphics. I have also played with the hatching on/off. However this doesn't solve my problem; my problem is that the section outline is visible "through" the part when viewed from the rear, see attached "section" and "section reverse" for both sides of the model. Worse still, if I want to exclude parts from the section, you can see the outline behind the excluded part. See the "excluded part" attachment. What I would like to do is have the outline only visible from the side of the section or even remove this outline completely. The same happens on other machines on site so I'm guessing Creo is working as designed and there are no GPU driver bugs. I'm hoping there is a setting somewhere that will remove the outline. Other than that I guess I could section the model with an extruded cut, which s
Note: Files are saved in Creo Parametric Student Version Hi, I am attempting to create a 3D model of a fish for 3D printing. I have a 3D model already (.obj file) however it doesn't seem to want to work. I would like to convert that .obj to a solid so I can edit it with Creo Parametric but I am having difficulties. I am not used to working with .stl or .obj files that make use of facets. (What I would like to do is split it into several parts (allowing for maximum printing area constraints on 3D printer) and increase the thickness of the walls.) As that doesn't seem to want to work for me I am attempting Plan B. Please see attached a sketch of the fish (i.e. a 2D sketch in .prt format), the .obj file and a .prt file created by importing the .obj file and saving as a .prt. The sketch has been made by roughly tracing the outer boundaries of the .obj file. (It doesn't have to be perfect.) If someone could advise the best possible way for me to convert the sketc
Explain the steps
Hello, Is there a setting to fix the space / no space scenerio shown? Creo 6.0. Wayne
Hi, In other CAD applications you can see a sketch that is shadowed behind a solid component. How to get this behavior in CREO (4.0)? I have an assembly drawing, and in one view I would like to see assembly sketch elements on the same "level" as the object lines, however since they are behind a part I can't see them. Thanks Rick
Why is a parts list - bill of materials called a repeat region in CREO? I can't make sense of it in any context. OK, it is a region on a drawing, but that is pretty obtuse, and repeat, repeat what?! What is the difference between a record and an index? When you start the repeat region command, Fix Index is an option, does this mean fix as in "repair" or lock in place? When you hit the fix index command is asks you to select a repeat region, then you get the next panel Which has fix index commands. This should be an edit menu where the fin unfix are options, the symantics of this menu structure is arcane. Does this drive anyone else nuts too?
Hello, I have issue in Creo 4 M110. When I highlight parts in assemblies, Creo shows also datum planes and coordinate systems inside. Is there possibility to turn off this options?
There is a requirement that we need to send "Model Check" Errors from Creo to Teamcenter when Creo files get saved into Teamcenter . Moreover I have observed that when "Model Check" Utility gets completed , Its generating a XML files in the local user machine ( For Example Windows Machine : C:\home\temp\mc_reports) where all the errors information mentioned in XML Format. What are all the options that can be used to transfer the "Model Check" Errors from Creo to Teamcenter ? So that while publish it check that file once .if error or warning exist user can rectify before publish the part.
to all Can't find what I am looking for in the help. In .vb I am looking for the commande/keyword to hide a part/model I am looping through parts of an assy (Dim Model As IpfcModel) and would like to hide the part being processed based on some criteria. Can anyone help point me in the right direction? Thanks
Hi, I've got a question: Is it possible to show the value of a parameter in a Drawing as an attached note ? Lets say that I there is a screw in a drawing of an assembly. I want to add a note with a leader that automatically shows the value of the parameter "&designation" of the selected part. And is it possible to add a button ("Designation-Note") to the drawing-menue ? Or is it possible to create a mapkey with that functionality ? How can it be done ? Thanks a lot, Maik
As usual, when they revised the GUI (Bold New Graphics!), they completely FUBAR'd things. I'm simply trying to export a STEP file and NEED to pick a specific CS....aaaaand I can't. This interface $uck$! For some reason the ability to pick a CS is greyed out. What????? This is something we NEED to do often. Is there an "optional" module I need or something? I'm p!$$ed. Oh, and in detailing mode the ribbon is somehow even WORSE than before! Man, I didn't think it was possible to make the ribbon worse, but they managed it. I don't know whether to give PTC kudos for that or not...(sarcasm). I should have stayed on Creo 3, and just gone to M180. So, when I lease Creo for personal use shortly, I'm not going to bother with Creo 4 since it's such a large step BACKWARD... SRSLY PTC???
Hello , The optimization feature in PTC Creo parametric build direction command closes down automatically. Does anybody know the reason for this? Thank You
I have looked in the "Help Center" after the name of the feature parameter "end_type" for the out-port of a fitting when this type differs from the in-port.In the fitting file it is named nend_type. But it is not clear what the feature parameter in the model should be called. Also, if the coupling is a T-coupling, should the parameter-name be something else for the branch?I hope there is someone out there who can help me.
Hello, Is there a config setting that controls where versioned file backups are saved using a relative file path? Ideally, when I hit ctrl-S, a new file without a version number would be saved in the working directory, and the versioned file would be saved to ./archive. I'm always purging the versioned files to keep my working directory cleaned up, but then if I need them, they're already gone. If I could automatically keep them in an archive folder, that would help my workflow.
Hello, I've noticed a difference when it comes to accessing curves using vb (C# in my case). While trying to create a UDF with a curve reference using C# I can fetch the curve feature: item = modelOwner.GetItemById((int)EpfcModelItemType.EpfcITEM_CURVE, "nameOfSubItemCurve"); The curve is also visible thru: features = componentModel.ListFeaturesByType(null, EpfcFeatureType.EpfcFEATTYPE_CURVE); curves = features[0].ListSubItems(EpfcModelItemType.EpfcITEM_CURVE); curve = curves[0]; In this case the curve reference is an ordinary curve. But when the curve is created using the "curve from equation" there are no SubItems in the feature object. Is this a limitation in the VB api? Note that i'm not including the decleration of the variables item, features, curves, componentModel and modelOwner. Those are defines correctly to represent the current part and feature of the model.
Hi, we use new powered PC, and we encountered slow file saving in Creo 6.0.0.0 ver. We use SSD disk, Creo start with SSD, and Creo save file on SSD, process to save small file about 2 minuties, very slow. On my old PC creo 6 save same file 10 sec. How find problem?
When I was trying to prepare a design from class for 3D printing I received the following error: "The file C:\...\Creo3D\Creo 6.0.20\Common Files\text\3d-printing\prin3d_certified.conf was created with a commercial version of Creo Parametric and is not compatible with the version of Creo Parametric Student Edition (for educational use only) you are running." Is there anyway to resolve this? Thanks.
Due to the internal working of the hole feature the axis of a flat bottom hole does not remain the sam when changed to conic end. this is why creo uses the extrude algorithm for a flat bottom hole and the revolve algorithm for all the other hole types. if find this annoying because all the child feature linked to the hole axis, fail when i change its end. i think this must be changed
