We need to setup remote working from home due to Covid 19. The simplest solution is to use remote desktop connections, which allows us access to all the resourses avalible when we are in the office. However the fixed licenses will not work over the remote desktop connection. This needs to be allowed at least temporarily. All the other solutions for using Creo outside of the office have significant draw backs compared with remote desktop.
I recently had help from IT to set up a remote desktop connection to my workstation. I was hoping that I could use this connection to troubleshoot manufacturing issues as they come up on 2nd and 3rd shifts. Unfortunately, Creo displays an "uncounted" license request error when I use it. I was told by IT that this may be because my workstation is set up to allow me the capability of opening multiple sessions of Creo when I am at work.Has anyone else had any luck with this sort of situation? Thanks
Hello EveryoneWe have Creo 6.0 license for learning purpose (not commercial usage). With this license , can't we use Creo 3.0 ? I am sure that our purpose is for learning and not for commercial purpose. Any point or explanation would be of great help. Thanks and RegardsKetan
Using Creo 5.Files exported as parasolid, STEP or IGES experience data loss, particularly features created using helical sweep. Tool maker is using NX8. Trying various schema options while exporting as parasolid reflect same issue. Any help in resolving the problem will be appreciated.
There are scenarios where our engineers need to see 3d representations of certain items that would NOT have a unit of EA for a WTPart BOM structure in Windchill. Examples: Putty (Units should be grams) Tape (Units should be inches) etc... I would prefer to not have engineers manually adding quantities/units in Windchill BOM structure. I would prefer that we use bulk items which automatically output the correct length/mass of an item into Windchill WTPart structure. I am trying to figure out if there is a way to combine bulk items WITH 3D models, where the bulk items measures the values from it's 3d version of the assembly. However, making it too difficult with relations using "fid_..." is not helpful either. If someone has any bright ideas, that would be really helpful! Thanks!
I am using V5.0.2.0 and I can not add the "properties" selection to my RMB. I am trying to pull up the properties of a dimension, I have gone to the customize tab to add "properties" to the RMB however it is greyed out. There are several other selections that I am having this problem with. Any help would be greatly appreciated
I want to set more than one BC for the inlet of my object. For example: I say that I want to have a specified velocity, a specified pressure and specified volumetric flux for the inlet of a pipe. But I just can choose one of it. Is it possible to give more information for the flow simulation?
I used Pro-Cabling/Pro-Diagram for many years (10-12) with both Wildfire and the initial releases of CREO. I am with a new company and trying to sell them on parametric harnessing (for many years they have used line entity drawings in Autocad and manually filled tables). I have been running a trial of Schematics/Cabling and have eaten up much of the trial simply getting things functional. I have zero references to use to prove this out, as my previous employers files were proprietary. I have my connectors placed and bundles routed and split as necessary (pic below), but the out of box library is missing so many spools I cannot make the proper schematic. The schematic I want to do would be pretty basic. I have placed my connectors using the connector groups but cannot find any reference for 2 node splices and cannot figure out how to change connector node from numeric to alpha (for 23 pin Deutsch HD). If I had something to go from, I
Hi, We are developing a tool to configure and automate Creo models. Many customers use Windchill. Anyone with experience how to automate parameter changes, suppression, replace, etc. when the Creo models are located in Windchill workspace? Please share any experience you have. Our problem today is that Windchill local cache is encrypted and we can make changes. Is it possible to store unencrypted Creo files from Windchill? Is it possible to decrypt them? Or do we simply need a Windchill integration as well? How would that work?
Many years ago, layers were used to control the visibility of 3D annotations. This changed with Creo 1.0 (if memory serves; was a few years ago now). You can still add 3D annotations to a layer, but hiding the layer no longer hides the annotation. Nowadays, you're supposed to "Remove from State", and use combined states to manage which annotations are displayed at any given time. That's all well and good, but... Why are Hole Notes different? (These notes are created automatically when you create a hole with threading; to avoid them the user must uncheck a box every time.) There is no "Remove from State" option for these notes for some reason. And layers still work! Why the inconsistency? Anyone have tips to manage them? I've joined a group that has just been ignoring these notes for many years, by turning off display of 3D annotations globally. But... there are going to be times when we want to some. As is, if you turn on annotation display in any of our assemblies, you c
I am extruding in assembly mode. Feature is created and also shown in model tree with no error. But it is not displayed/hidden..Kindly suggest me how to unhone.
Hi. I've installed Creo 6, and I made sure to check all the Toolkit boxes, including the VBA API. I have declared the system variable and registered the server, as shown in the VB User Guide. but when I try to select the Creo VBA library as a reference in Excel, it's not there. Anyone know what step I'm missing?
I need some help with Relations and sub-assemblies. I am really new to CREO parametric (3 months) and my company has 4.2 version. I do have an extensive experience with Inventor programming ilogic and visual basic so it has been hard to adapted to the lock of programming tools in CREO. Now moving forward and learning the new software I was able to create a frame assembly that will change in size once I change one driving parameter (Depth). No problems there. Next I need to create an assembly that will use the frame and I will be adding other components to the top assembly, quantities for the new components will change also base in the depth. I want to keep the frame as its own assembly to keep drawings of of the frame assembly simple. I am having problems driving the depth of the sub-assembly from the Top assembly. Is it even possible? In inventor it was possible and easy. I been searching for tutorials but I haven't been able to find anything yet. If possible could you please ad
In some cases, you may not want Import Validation notifications when opening components in Creo Unite. For example, a model may have known issues, but you still want it in Creo for reference or for placements indicators. Many users asked us for a way to toggle those notifications off (and on) after a model had been opened or imported. With Creo 6 or later, now you can. With import validation notifications disabled, you don’t receive a report of failed validation in the Notification Center, or an indication of failed validation in the Model Tree. Here’s what you need to know to set your default to enable/disable these notifications: To Enable or Disable Validation for Individual Components If you want to disable or enable import validation notifications for individual components, right-click the component in the Model Tree and select Import Validation. Hi all, I would like to perform a shape optimization on a simple beam undergoing large deflections. For this purpose, several simulation steps are needed. Simulate provides good results on a single simulation, i.e. it outputs a user-defined measure for a specific number of simulation steps. However, it seems impossible to define an "error function" for optimization studies (e.g. root mean square value evaluated in a series of simulation steps). Simulate considers the last value, i.e. the one evaluated during the last simulation step through the "measure tool". How can I proceed?

I am trying to remake a model I have in fusion 360 in Creo and This tool is seriously infuriating me. This is why I am turning to the community for help. I am trying to dimension a square so that it is 5.5mm from the line on the right but creo automatically selects the line on the left and I have spent a good hour trying to change it so that it references from the right but I can't figure it out. The dimensionning tool IN GENERAL, doesn't ever work. I have never been able to click on it, then click on a segment I want to dimension and have it complete successfully. Please, someone help me, am I dumb or is it the software that's dumb? help
I have a mirrored feature and then go back and edit it. In doing so it seems to very rarely fix the mirrored features which should be dependent on the others I would think. Am I doing something wrong when I mirror it?
I've a main assembly say 'assy1.asm', it has a sub assembly 'assy2.asm', this sub-assy has a part say part1.prt. Now this part (is a hose made using piping) is not visibile in main assembly. But if you open assy2, the part is clearly visible. I'm facing this kind of problem for the first time. I've checked all representations, unhidden all layers, unit systems, no regeneration issues and there is no extrude made in the main assy that cut throught this part. I've tried to open the same assy in different creo in another system, the same problem exists. What's causing this issue & how I can fix this.
I tried equivalent functions listed in the manual https://creopyson.readthedocs.io/en/latest/modules.html for example: Called through a client session : c.drawing_get_sheet_format(1) Called from Creopyson module : creopyson.drawing.get_sheet_format(c,1) And I found that they return the same result. Please ignore the specific example of "get_sheet_format" my question is : why there are two ways to call the same function?
Is it possible to create balloons for sub level assemblies componentes in a nested repeat region table
Is there any way to put a standard hole size controlled by a parameter? For example having a parameter with size M8x1.0, ,and changing the standard hole size, to M8x1.0? If yes how to do it?
Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to get the name (and other data if possible) of a 3D symbol like the one marked with a red rectangle in the picture below. I'm using Creo 6.0.4.0 and toolkit. Any help or advice is much appreciated.
hello i have a little problem ; i want to create a single surface instead four is posible ? i attach picture for better understanding
