Hi , Most of the APi's i have seen are related to balloon creation (ProBomBalloon) i have a existing drawing with balloons created.is there a way we can get the quantity of the specific balloon ? thanks, Sekar
I would like to use the selection "DRILL_DEPTH" as a criteria but it is not available in the parameter list.Currently it is not possible to add parameters yourself. The parameters listed in the 'rule: parameter' list box are system defined parameters.
Hi, I get a graph result on one of the edges of a beam, it looks like this. Since the point on the graph is kind of random, I'm curious how does the Creo Simulate picks the points that are shown to me? Is the maximum point I see in this graph has to be the maximum stress along the whole curve? Thanks!
UI for data output offers some new improvements in SMARTElectrode 12.0.0.0: Name of Operation Exports will be named like selected operation by default. All operations of electrode assembly can be exported in a row without changing the name. Output by Simplified Representation In addition to export by operation or selected electrodes, users can now also select a simplified representation for export. Simplified representations could be added for repair, new electrodes necessary through design change or gate electrodes. Operations from SMARTElectrode 7.0 Allow import and output of operation sub-assemblies from SMARTElectrode 7.0. A new operation has to be defined if new electrodes should be added.
With the release of SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0 some improvements in geometry selection are also available. In detail these are: New selection tool "Tool tip" Integration of the shape-based selection filters from "Flexible Modeling Extension" New arrangement of the commands in the "Selection" group Learn more about the new Selection Tools for Electrodes: Here you can find a step by step introduction: https://www.buw-soft.de/en/2020/02/21/new-selection-tools-for-electrodes/ Availability Starting with SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0 all improvements for selections are available in all electrode assemblies.
In SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0, size and position can be changed dynamically after selecting the geometry. Application of dynamic editing After selecting the surfaces for manufacturing, the definition of the cutout can begin using the command. The respective selected coordinate or dimension is highlighted in the object window. When the “Dynamic Drag” button is pressed, drag elements are displayed that can be moved by holding down the left mouse button. The size and position are adjusted directly. The cutout is created with “OK”. Already created cutouts can be redefined later in this way. This function allows a more flexible use of the cutout feature in SMARTElectrode. Find more about the dynamic editing of Cutout Features: Here you can find a step by step introduction: https://www.buw-soft.de/en/2020/02/21/dynamic-editing-of-cutout-features/ Availability From version SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0 on, the dynamic editing of the cutouts is av
With the new version SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0, workpiece dimensions can now be created automatically. Find out more about it: Here you can find a step by step instruction: https://www.buw-soft.de/en/2020/02/21/add-workiece-dimensions-automatically/ Availablity Workpiece dimensions can be added to drawing configuration starting with SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0.
Starting with SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0 it is possible to interactively define the start positions of the electrodes for the eroding process in a separate user interface. The definition of start positions is always necessary if data has to be transferred to erosion machines. Find out more about the new User Interface: Read more about the new User Interface: https://www.buw-soft.de/en/2020/02/21/new-user-interface-start-position/ Availability This new feature is available for all electrode assemblies starting with version SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0.
With the new release SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0, the import of old or third-party electrodes has been improved. There are a number of reasons why third-party electrodes have to be declared in electrode assemblies from SMARTElectrode. Find out more about the improved Workflow in this Video: Or find more information here: https://www.buw-soft.de/en/2020/02/21/improved-workflow-for-import-of-third-party-electrodes/ Availability This features is supported for all electrode assemblies starting with version SMARTElectrode 12.0.2.0.
From SMARTElectrode 12.0.1.3 on it is possible to change the zero points of the electrode assembly interactively in Creo Parametric. Two methods are now available for editing Redefinition using the user interface Interactive change in Creo Parametric Interactive change in Creo Parametric With the direct change, either the referenced coordinate system or the zero point can be redefined directly. In both cases SMARTElectrode automatically detects the change of the zero point definition and updates the position data of the electrodes accordingly. The following video shows the usage of the improvement in detail: And if you want more informations: https://www.buw-soft.de/en/2019/11/18/automatic-update-when-operation-zero-is-changed/
The display and editing of notifications in the burn list has been further improved in SMARTElectrode 12.0.1.3. Correction of problems Outdated cutouts and displaced electrode base can be opened and updated directly by activating (double-clicking) the message. In the case of a cutout, the dialog for the change is opened. The following video shows the improvements in detail: Here you can find the whole article: https://www.buw-soft.de/en/2019/11/18/notifications-in-burnsheet/
We have the requirement to work in a BIM environment, by exporting our 3D models to the IFC format (Industry Foundation Class)We have both WF4 and Creo2.0How can I export my assemblies to IFC?
In SMARTElectrode 12.0.1.3 the data output for die-sinking EDM machines from INGERSOLL has been improved. A new feature is the output of the electrode type, which results from the technology specifications in the electrode properties. Read the complete article here.
Starting with SMARTElectrode 12.0.1.3, updated and new manufacturing templates for Creo NC are included. NC programming can be considerably simplified by using NC templates. Templates can be prepared for different machines or applications and assigned to the electrodes. The templates can be assigned to the electrodes in the corresponding user interface. Upon confirmation, the assemblies are created and necessary references are replaced. The current templates can be downloaded here and must be saved in the SMARTElectrode configuration in the "machining" subdirectory of the electrode blanks. If you want to find out more about the new manufacturing templates click the link below: https://www.buw-soft.de/en/2019/11/18/new-manufacturing-templates-for-use-with-creo-nc/
In addition to existing general output functionality, SMARTElectrode 12.0.0.0 introduces a new specific Post-Processor UI with newly developed interfaces to EDM. This new feature is available at extra cost and needs a demo license or an extended commercial license for activation. All current user-defined formats are still working with Output UI - the more sophisticated interfaces need the Post-Processor functionality. Currently available interfaces: Agie +GF+ AgieCharmilles Zimmer&Kreim OPS-Ingersoll more interfaces are available on request Please contact us for help or feedback!
There is a new user interface for definition of cutouts available in SMARTElectrode 12.0.0.0. Users can now adjust position and dimensions before solid and cutout are created. UI can be opened again to change values using context menu in modeltree. NoteThis functionality replaces user-defined cutout.
Electrode assembly definition can be loaded and changed in SMARTElectrode 12.0.0.0. This new functionality may be helpful, especially when working with reference parts. Also the start value for electrode counter can be adjusted. Changes to prefix/postfix or renaming of whole assembly may be added later - feedback welcome!
SMARTElectrode 12.0.0.0 offers input for effective burn-area on 2nd tab "Details" in Base UI for complete definition of technology parameters. Also workpiece material was added to UI to simplify the workflow. SMARTElectrode performs a fast calculation for effective burn-area if no burn-face value available. An exact calculation can be started using the submenu. Also the calculation of undersize values dependent on materials and surface qualtiy can be started directly from this UI. To use this functionality overburn_calc.txt has to be customized in configuration.

Hi all, Can I exclude specific parts / sub-components from a step export? I've got assemblies imported from a supplier which are purchased in already assembled, so I'd like to exclude the sub-components from my step file export (which, in turn, will exclude them from my BOM). In the past I have used a parameter added to parts/assemblies to exclude those parts from a Windchill wtp BOM, but I'm using step files and a third party software to create the BOM now so I'm wondering can I do something similar to control the structure of a step file? Thanks in advance 🙂
Today it is not possible to get the symbol name or group name of a symbol with the search. Access to the symbol will be much easier and automatic access will be possible with mapkeys.
Hi,We are creating an exe for updating a table in a drawing. This exe has to be initiated from another application. We have done this using a dll in the previous version which worked fine, so please guide us on how to create exe. Thanks and regards, Sekar
Hello All, I have what should be a relatively straight forward issue but I just cant seem to figure out what is happening. Working on Creo 3.0 M100. I have a top level assembly (FORKLIFT-PATH-ANIMATION) that contains one "part" and 3 sub assemblies. The part (FLOW-THROUGH-LAYOUT) contains copy geom curves from a different parent assembly. These curves are the established paths for the slot follower connections being discussed next. Now, each of the subassemblies (PATHFOLLOWER) are connected to the parent via slot follower connections. The PATHFOLLOWER sub-assembly contains 2 items, a skeleton part and a shrinkwrapped model of a forklift. The forklift model is fully assembled to the follower assembly using user defined constraints referencing the default assembly datums. The skeleton part contains some datum points which are theorretical indicators of wheelbase/tire position. Each PATHFOLLOWER is asse
Do you need an end user runtime licence for Java Toolkit?for the user that uses the written app, not the developer, just to be clear.the reason is that i would like to buy (as a private person) a small-ish j-toolkit script that would help me with my work, as my company doesn't want to pay for it (for all users in that case). Is that lic included by default in a standard creo installation by any chance?i don't know the actual names, but i work on 2 computers, depending on location. one has also mechanica, UDF... (a lot more features), the other has only the basic "drafing licence"? i would need it only on either one of them.
Is there a way to apply multiple filters to narrow a table to a list of parts that have the specified filters. I have two parameters that I would like to filter by. Figure == 1 and Class == Y However, I am not sure how to achieve this because adding the same filters to a single list. If I put the same filters together it filters everything because the parameters cannot have two different values. &fam.inst.param.name == CLASS&fam.inst.param.value == y&fam.inst.param.name == figure&fam.inst.param.value == 1 I've been told that the only way to achieve my goal is to have to create a new parameter. Is there a way to achieve the desired results just by filters? See attempts in picture attached. I just want the list in green.
