Hello, Creo 2.0 I have created a mirror of a part. Because the parent part has the P/N engraved, I add a family table to the parent with a lone instance with _MIR suffix and with the P/N feature suppressed. I use the _MIR instance to create my mirrored part. The problem is that the mirrored part will not regenerate with changes to the parent unless the _MIR instance is opened directly. If I make changes to the parent generic and open the mirrored part and regenerate, the changes are not reflected (see what I did there 😁) in the mirrored part. I have to open the _MIR instance. Is there a way to have the mirrored part automatically open the _MIR instance to check for changes? I'm afraid that changes aren't going to get propagated to the mirrored part.
after too much click on icon of parametric it open but fatal error occuer
Hello to all!Please tell me how to add a part to an assembly using OTK Java and make this part flexible.I watched the otkAssemblyItemOperationsExample example, but it does not work. Because the assembly is done according to a predefined structure: /* --------------------------------------------------- * ASSEMBLY STRUCTURE USED FOR THE EXAMPLE * --------------------------------------------------- --------- ------- FEAT ID FEAT # --------- ------- FLEX_TOP_ASM.asm | |---ASM_RIGHT 1 1 |---ASM_TOP 3 2 |---ASM_FRONT 5 3 |---ASM_DEF_CSYS 7 4 | |===FLEX_PART2.prt 39 5 | |===FLEX_SUB_ASM1.asm 42 6 | |---ASM_RIGHT 1 1 |---ASM_TOP 3 2 |---ASM_FRONT 5 3 |---ASM_DEF_CSYS 7 4 | |===FLEX_PART1.prt 39 5 | |===FLEX_SUB_ASM2.asm 40 6 | |---ASM_RIGHT 1 1 |---ASM_TOP 3 2 |---ASM_FRONT 5 3 |---ASM_DEF_CSYS 7 4 | |===FLEX_PART1.prt
Hi, We are building a Creo toolkit project and trying to import a external dll which is in c# into the project. we are facing issues while building the code . the code for importing the external dll. #import "SampleDLL.tlb"using namespace SampleDLL; Any suggestions ? Thanks and Regards, Sekar
Hello All, Greetings, I am trying to write a tool to read one level structure of the Assembly from folders. There are around 2k assemblies per folder on iterative basis. I am using RetrieveModelWithOpts API to load a model. This API looks keeps the already opened model in session. Is there a way to close opened model or clear the model? How I can make this Assembly structure extraction quick Thanks, Swapnil
Hello everybody!Help me please. How to programmatically select sections created in Creo? I read everything that is written in the user guide, but I still did not succeed. A section is a separate file with a *.sec extension. If you know another way to access the section drawn in Creo, then I will be very grateful. Thank you all in advance. With respect!
Hello Masters Creo Modelers, Here in CREO 2.0 M080 ... In the many topics about Sweeping, i have never found Sweep so straight and short ! ! ! After many tries with Sweep or Sweep Blend, there's not a good surface created by these functions. I manage to create something with Boundary Blend but it is not enough smooth as I want. This is the base of the problem. Sweep the ellipse (5x3.5) to the face of the solid ! Even if I create the section just after the selection of the normal trajectory. Creo don't want to make the intention modeling. and it reworks the section has you can see ! Does anyone think HE CAN manage to make this modeling ? ? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP ! !
After being away from Creo for about a year, I'm back doing some freelance work in Creo 2 (yeah, old version, not my choice). I'm a bit rusty, but it's coming back pretty quickly. We are 3D printing these parts and some need to be printed in multiple pieces to fit in the printer and then glued together. I've created a family table with instances for the various pieces. The generic file name is the P/N (12345), the instances are something like 12345_F, 12345_R, etc. The PART_NO parameter is driven by the file name (PART_NUMBER = REL_MODEL_NAME in my relations) and I'm also using the P/N parameter to drive a protrusion on the part so that the P/N is on the printed part. The problem is that the instances have suffixes so the protrusions have extra information in the PART_NO parameter. I'd like to drive the PART_NO parameter in all instances by the generic file name, not the instance model name. How can I do that?
I have a model that is controlled by 45 parameters. I want to be able to control the parameters from an excel spreadsheet. The reason for doing this because the parameters sheet is tedious to change values and make updates. It will also be easier for individuals without a lot of Creo experience to use the program. Please let me know if there is a way to do this. Thanks
Hey everybody, is there a way to access the feature ID from a part or assembly programmatically? I know that it is possible to get the feature ID via the selection option but can I archive the same without user input? Is it possible to generate a list of all parts of an assembly which contain said ID? Any help is greatly appreciated!!
I'm working in CREO 4 and I have a casting model with datum target points defined in it and then I have an external merge setup for the machining model. I need to reference the datum target points from the casting model to establish my machining datums but I can't find out how to get these target points and datums to show. Please help.
My goal is to create a dimension in a drawing view between a CSYS and the axis of a hole. This dimension will then be converted to ordinate, together with dimension of other holes. I'm able to add the axis to the selection but the command Drawing.CreateDimension throws the exception XToolkitBadDimAttach. This is what I have so far: public void createAxisDims() throws com.ptc.cipjava.jxthrowable{session.UIClearMessage(); if (model.GetType() != ModelType.MDL_DRAWING) {return;}Dimension hBaseline = null;Dimension vBaseline = null; Drawing drawing = (Drawing)model;View2D selView = drawing.GetViewByName("VOORAANZICHT"); Solid rootSolid = (Solid)selView.GetModel(); ModelItem csys = rootSolid.GetItemByName(ModelItemType.ITEM_COORD_SYS, "CS_INSTALL_DIM"); Selection csysSel = pfcSelect.CreateModelItemSelection (csys, null);csysSel.Highlight(StdColor.COLOR_EDGE_HIGHLIGHT);ModelItem selItem = csysSel.GetSelItem(); ComponentPath selPath = csysSel.GetPath(); Point3D selPos = cs
Hi, ... I also posted this in "Assembly Design" group on an old thread revival (link) I get into a problem with the VB API and I cannot figure out, using this code: Private Function GetCellText(TheTable As IpfcTable, rIdx As Integer, cIdx As Integer) As String Try Debug.Print("Number of lines in table: " & TheTable.GetRowCount) Debug.Print("Number of columns in table: " & TheTable.GetColumnCount) Dim MyCell As IpfcTableCell = (New CCpfcTableCell).Create(rIdx, cIdx) Dim MyText As Cstringseq = TheTable.GetText(MyCell, 0) Return MyText(0).ToString Catch ex As Exception MsgBox(ex.Message & vbNewLine & vbNewLine & ex.StackTrace,, GetCurrentMethod().Name) Return Nothing End Try End Function I get an exception from xToolkit at the line "Dim MyText As Cstringseq = TheTable.GetText(MyCell, 0)" but I can't find what I am doing wrong. Any idea?
hi, i have a problem with the pattern command, where is i chose the feature to pattern and the surface on which i wanted it , and the point of origin. The pattern dots appear to be in my desired place, but the feature is generated elsewhere. what kind of sorcery is this. images attached. Thanks.
Hi everybody,I would like to get the bill of material by API. I have already worked through vbug.pdf, but I couldn´t find a clue in this direction. You can get the first level dependencies by IpfcModel.ListDependencies() (doing this recursively will get all dependecies for complex assemblies) but I couldn´t get the number for a part/assembly in this level?! I have played some time with IpfcComponentPath, but I think this is the wrong direction. Here a simple example:root.asm - 1 x part1.prt - 5 x part2.prt - 2 x other.asm - 3 x partA.prt - 1 x partB.prt - 8 x GenericPart.prtSo ListDependencies() for root.asm would return- part1.prt- part2.prt- other.asm- GenericPart.prtBut how to get the numbers? In fact to get the commercial counts for purchase I need to pass the number of other.asm (2x) down to multiply.Hope this shows what I mean 😃Thanks in advanced for your help.Best regards,Benjamin
Hi I am trying to retrieve model, using the API Is there a way to retrieve model quickly without regenerating Thanks, Swapnil
Hello, is there a way to search in the File Open dialog box for the number and not for the file name. Thank you in advance.
Hi, I am trying to add a new dialog box to creo tool using the below command. status = ProUIDialogCreate(EX_DLG_NAME, EX_DLG_RES_FILE); EX_DLG_RES_FILE this the .res file which is created using creo_ui_editor. I get PRO_TK_GENERAL_ERROR. Is it because of any location issue or anything else. Some one please help me resolving this issue. Thanks
Hello,.I have problem, I want to use toolkit get points data from pattern, how can I do? Thanks and Regards Roger
Hi everyone, I'm looking for help to solve my analysis now. Our company has bought extended license of Creo Simulate to be able to run a contact analysis incl. rubber part. I have been trying to solve this by myself and almost gave up on this. So I hope someone could share their experience with me=) The analysis I need to run as follows:1) Assembly consists of:- a valve house made of Ductile iron GGG-50.- a wedge insert made of Ductile iron ggg-50 and covered with a rubber layer (This is a subassembly)2) I could cut 3/4 part of this assembly and use symmetry constraints to save some time.3) Valve house has fixed constraint at the bottom.4) There are contacts (component - component) between the valve house and rubber (covering the wedge insert). 5) Wedge insert and wedge rubber are bonded (component - component)6) There is not force or pressure applied in this case but the wedge need to go down to meet the contact surfaces in the valve house. Or maybe there is a much easier
I have a dynamic time analysis and want to show stress throughout the time history at a specified point. The tricky part is that the measure is on a thin sheetmetal bracket. I've modeled the bracket as a solid in Parametric and created a shell pair to mesh it as a shell. I want a measure on the top and bottom of the plate so I've created a datum point on each side and created stress measures at a point with time eval checked on and set to each step. My problem is that when I plot my measures in the results viewer, they both come out identical even though when I look at the contour plot for a specified time step, I can see that the top and bottom stress are very different (opposite signs for stress xx since it's partially in bending). It seems like the measures at the top and bottom point are both plotting for the shell top values. Is there a switch somewhere that I'm missing to show the bottom values or a different way to set up the measures? I
Hi, I am doing a little program in which the user will select a table in a drawing, and then the program will read that table and extract information and do stuff with it. My problem is that I can't figure out how to cast the selected object to a table object. Here's how I launch the selection process: Private Sub BtnSelectTable_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles BtnSelectTable.Click Try Dim SelectedTable As IpfcSelections = SelectFeatures(theBaseSession) For i = 0 To SelectedTable.Count - 1 Dim CurrTbl As IpfcTable = SelectedTable.Item(i) MsgBox(CurrTbl.GetRowCount) Next Catch ex As Exception MsgBox(ex.Message & vbNewLine & vbNewLine & ex.StackTrace,, GetCurrentMethod().Name) End Try End Sub Here's how I select the drawing table (comes from the PTC supplied example): Public Function SelectFeatures(ByVal session As IpfcBaseSession) As IpfcSelections Dim selections A
Is it possible to move a datum feature symbol in one combination state while not having it move in another combination state? Say you have two combination states, each with features of size that reference datum A. In the first combination state, you have the model oriented in a particular manner to highlight a specific feature of size. Datum feature symbol A is located so as to be visible. Now, in the second combination state, the model has to be rotated 180 degrees to highlight a different feature of size that also references datum A. It's our policy to show all referenced datum feature symbols on the sheet where they are referenced. However, if datum feature symbol A is moved in the second combination state, it is no longer visible in the first combination state. Has anyone else come across this issue? Thanks
Can anyone explain to me what New Set does in the Placement Toolbar when placing a component? I would think you can place the part in multiple locations at once, but that didn't seem to work. Any help? I know when you have an interface, the New Set is changed to New Location and that works fine. Thanks!
In this tutorial, you can learn How to create a mechanism and transform Loads to Creo Simulate
