Is it possible to have an orientation fixed on a point in a model, keeping the same zoom and direction when a length changes. At the moment I am having troubles with this, and when I change the length of a model, the orientation stays at the same place and doesn't move with the model.
While playing around in the background files of Creo... I found a resource file for "ribbon_designer_main". I've never actually seen a "ribbon designer" natively inside of Creo.. so I decided to try to open the resource file. I coded up something along the lines of the following: // test code void test_gui_close(char *dialog, char *component, ProAppData app_data) { ProUIDialogExit(dialog_label, 0); } ProError test_gui() { ProCharName resource = "ribbon_designer_main"; err = ProUIDialogCreate(resource, resource); err = ProUIDialogCloseActionSet(resource, test_gui_close, NULL); err = ProUIPushbuttonActivateActionSet(resource, "Cancel", test_gui_close, NULL); err = ProUIDialogDestroynotifyActionSet(resource, test_gui_close, NULL); err = ProUIDialogActivate(resource, &status); err = ProUIDialogDestroy(resource)
Hi, I have a assembly with the following structure: I want to add component parameters to all of these. We are using a trail file link to a mapkey to accomplish this, basically what we do is seraching for all components that dont have a specific parameter like this: Selecting all the components and adding the parameter. So here is the issue, when having a "include part" it adds the parameter to the part instead of the component on the assembly. Anybody that have any ideas regarding this? much appriciated. Thanks!
Hi everyone, I'm revising a drawing that is missing mass and volume fields in the tables on each sheet. The standard units for our metric parts are mm-kg-sec, but we want to call out g for mass and cm for volume in the drawings. Right now I am using the following parameters, but want to know if anyone out there knows how to come up with gram and cm. Possibly with a relation equation? &PRO_MP_MASS[.4] kg. &PRO_MP_VOLUME[.0] mm³ I appreciate any responses. Thank you!
Hello, I have been looking high and low to find any information on editing the Standard in GD&T Advisor. I open the Part Properties and I see the Standard (ASME Y14.5 2009) selected. Selecting the list shows ISO 11:01 2012 but it's not available. I created a new part to see if the standard can't change after creating any geometry. What is the correct way to add and apply different standards to the GD&T Advisor in Creo 4? What files do I need to get all the standards that are supported in Creo 4?
I am in search of an appearance file (color.map) that has colors from the cool spectrum such as greens, blues, violets, and grays. Thanks in advance, Ronnie Shand
Hello community, I'm a college student trying to work on a skeleton model for an assembly and this one part gets flipped and inverted, teacher just tells me its faster second time around and i know you should be able to fix it, just getting more mad trying to revert it. ( no I don't have a backup before it flipped) Any ideas how to fix it, I'll link the files, picture of what it looks like and the tutorial, hopefully someone can figure out why its flipping that piece. Thank you!
Hi, Is there any further information about Creo-onshape? is PTC planning to merge both softwares or addition of any plugin. If anyone having more information on this then pls update. Regards, Prashant Pandarkar
Anyone know of a good way to add a company proprietary statement to a start part? I suppose an annotation note would work but wondering about other ways.
I have a part model and drawing that are in metric and cannot be edited. I need to create an English version of the drawing that is driven by the metric model (if there are any changes to the metric model I want them to show up in the English drawing). I have tried doing a "save as" on the drawing and turning on just the secondary units, but while I am in the drawing the part is being "edited." I say "edited" because I can make changes within the model tree while in the drawing, but when i close the drawing and part and reopen the drawing it is back to the way it was when I copied it. I also will need to make adjustments to the GD&T on the English version, which will likely have to be made in the model. Is there a way to create a separate English model that is completely driven by the metric model through relations? I feel like this would be the best way to do this but i am unsure how to do it. I am using Creo 3.0.
Is it possible to display the surface of a thread in shading? Matteo
Currently you can create a planar cross section and included quilts, but not a n offset cross section.Would anyone else like to see this funtionality added to offset cross section?KEN
Hi there, If I try to delete a layer via Web.Link, Creo crashes with Error This is the doomed line: CurModel.GetItemByName(pfcCreate("pfcModelItemType").ITEM_LAYER, wl_unwanted_layers[i]).Delete(); Creo 5.0.5.0 crashes with this error message: -------------------------------------------------The trace creation timestamp is: Wed Nov 06 11:39:44 19The executable build timestamp is: Fri Jun 14 09:40:52 19The datecode is: 2019080The pro machine type is: x86e_win64The process ID is: 10244The traceback type is : CRASHThe logger exit status is: 00003The Trail is: trail.txt.206The release is: 5.0The product version is: 5.0.5.0The product title is: Creo Parametric-------------------------------------------------Exception EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION has occurred in the thread 14208.Main Thread 14208=====================0x00007FF694E364A8 NULL (NULL:0) (xtop:0x00007FF68E6B0000) ( 0x0, 0x4e3add00, 0xa804ff30, 0x0 ) 0x00007FF69157C014 NULL (NULL:0) (xtop:0x00007FF68E6B0000) ( 0x
Hi, I recently upgrade to windows 10 1903 enterprise November update. I got problem in both creo 5 and 6. When the assembly is small (like single part), everything seems ok. when the model gets complicated, like 30 parts, i got sudden huge lag when suddenly drag mouse to pan zoom. it's not always happen, lag for the first second, then good for a little while . After little while, it starts lag again, i rotate the model a bit, then good again, then repeat. The "good" period seems like it's reading cache of current model. I also noticed both verison of creo are stongly use signle core single thread now(i know CAD is single core, but before wasn't like this). When i rotate model now, only single thread is 100%, lag is gone when that thread is low. Now the performance is waaaaaaay lower than my Core i5 6600 with nvidia gtx750. No lag with manual click Pan Zoom under "Zoom" tab, no lag with mouse movement on scre
FlexNet Publisher 11.16.2.1 is available on Creo 4.0 M110 DVD. It will be available also on Creo 6.0.3.0 DVD soon. Important notice: Admin must ensure that MS Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package is installed on license server.
I currently have a part in an assembly that is constrained as a pin and have limited the maximum rotation to 270 degrees. I'd like the part to rotate in 90 degree increments versus rotating in a smooth action when using the "drag components" function. When initially placing the component you can change the motion type to "rotate" and set 90 degrees as the rotational increment, but this does not act as a constraint once you've placed the part. Is there any way to use the drag component function and have a part rotate in 90 degree increments with 270 degrees as the maximum rotational limit?
I can able to create the Family table for a Connector(Generic & Instances). But I am unable to rename the CSYS of instances ?(Enclosed image for REF.)
Hello, I want to use toolkit to build a system that is average enough to distribute points on selected faces or boundaries. For example: import one part or assembly , select any face and create a starting point, using this point to fill the entire face evenly。 The density and quantity of points can be adjusted。 How can i do first? Thanks and Regards Roger
Hi all, I have an ASM assembly here in Creo View with several PRT parts and some ASM sub-assemblies. One of the sub-assemblies doesn't load or show, as can be seen in the screenshot below: https://i.imgur.com/ZtQNFLE.png The same happens when that ASM subassembly is opened directly from Windows Explorer in Creo View -- and also when I load any PRT part of that subassembly directly to Creo View, see screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/IcBiN7x.png Here is a text comparison of the header of the not loading PRT part from above screenshot -- ("NoShow", left) with a part that loads without problems ("Show", right): https://i.imgur.com/nL86QDY.png Could it have something to do with the fact that the not-loading part (above left) is marked as "PART/SKEL_MODEL" in the header, and so probably is a Skeleton model? If so, what would I need to obtain from the engineer in order to be able to see those Skeleton parts and assemblies in Creo View?
When using 'Roughing' with a mill window in Creo 5 I've been putting a value of 2 or 3 into the parameter CORNER_ROUND_RADIUS as it stops the cutter squawking when it goes into internal corners. However, when I then use Re-rough with a smaller cutter the software doesn't recognise the extra material left in as a result of the CORNER_ROUND_RADIUS parameter being greater than zero, which can cause the second cutter to bite off more than it can chew. Anyone have any idea how to get Re-rough to recognise the additional material and create an appropriate tool path?
Hello Guys, During the using Creo 4.0, I have some problem when I try to add tolerance after modifying dimension. Tolerance is no appeared after I modify dimension myself. I want to add +0/-0.25. How can I solve this..? Please support me. Thank you in advance.
Hello! I am trying to create a simple model (for example, a cube) only using J-Link.Started by creating a window: Model tryModel = curSession.CreatePart ("Testing1"); tryModel.Display ();But it does not appear (I call using the button from Creo).Does anyone have experience creating models using J-Link?Help me please.Regards!
Is it possible to move a datum feature symbol in one combination state while not having it move in another combination state? Say you have two combination states, each with features of size that reference datum A. In the first combination state, you have the model oriented in a particular manner to highlight a specific feature of size. Datum feature symbol A is located so as to be visible. Now, in the second combination state, the model has to be rotated 180 degrees to highlight a different feature of size that also references datum A. It's our policy to show all referenced datum feature symbols on the sheet where they are referenced. However, if datum feature symbol A is moved in the second combination state, it is no longer visible in the first combination state. Has anyone else come across this issue? Thanks
I created a pipe. The points used to route were referencing another assembly and using existing axis and other components like going from a tee to an elbow for a plumbing type circuit. In the past, once the pipe was created, I was able to change the refernces of the points from axis, features, and planes to the ditances from the coordinate system by using X,Y, and Z values. In Creo 4.0, I am not able to do this any more. Can I change the references like a point created on an axis and a suface of a tee branch and remove those refs and replace them with coordinate system values found from the Summary under the Analysis Tab?
