I am using Creo Parametric Release 11.0 and Datecode11.0.3.0The Preview File button has disappeared from the File Open window. I use this feature all the time. Please advise how to restore the function. I have searched the config options but no luck. Thanks.
The Measurement Tool... (Analysis->Measure)... was changed was back around Creo 2.0 or 3.0 to a "new, improved" GUI. Back then I complained loudly to the PLM for modeling tools and he was annoyed that I thought the new tool was inferior to the old one. In any decently sized assembly, I find the tool to be nearly useless. Tips like "pre-selecting the first reference" help but the should software function in a reasonable time span nonetheless. PTC says it "works to specifications" but taking 4 minutes to measure between two holes cannot possibly be "intended functionality". What are your thoughts? Any tips for improvement? Or do we all just avoid measurements now?
I've got a part with two dims that I've renamed from their original symbolic names (example: d123) to C and D. How do I find their original dimension names if I've forgotten what they were?
When rendering images with the Render Studio package that comes with Creo 10. Bump maps, which I use all of the time to represent things like fiber wrapping on tanks, iso grid structure, weld beads, etc., are not being scaled per my inputs. This is especially useful for representing threads. I have a basic raster image for threads that I apply to a threaded surface, and just scale it along the revolve axis as needed to represent the number of threads that should be there as a function of the cylinder length, and the thread pitch. Thread bump maps are being rendered, but with a default scale of 1 along the rotational axis. These results are whether I use a parametric or cylindrical mapping for those textures. I don’t know if there is a setting I missed, a configuration value I overlooked, or what.
Hello, is there a method to know the file size in Mb of an assembly or part in creo or in windchill? Tank you, Michele Barile
I am trying to add onto a part which opened up from an assembly. I make the thing I was trying to make but the save buttons are all greyed out. Not sure how to fix this any help would be appreciated. The model also had a validation import failure, but I just clicked ignore. Idk if that's the cause but it still won't let me save. Thanks!
I am working on generating a imperial drawing for a part that was designed using metric standards and the Model properties use mm as the base unit. The drawing is using dual dimensioning SECONDARY to allow me to dimension in inches. However the part also has several threaded holes that have hole notes generated. This means that the hole and thread depth are using the mm from the model when bringing it into the drawing (so instead of 1in depth the note looks to appear as if it had 25.4in depth). Is there a way to make the hole note that gets pulled in to use the secondary dimensions of inches that the drawing is using so that it matches the units of the drawing without setting the model properties to inches and updating the note in the model.
Is it possible to block the System colors, Interface and Theme options in Creo Parametric (10.0.6) from unauthorized user changes through config.sup?
Dear Creo users,While doing some complicated sketch don't you think there is a need of linear and circular pattern options in creo sketch? Its true pattern option is given in solid modelling and we can pattern a feature or group of features. In solid works users can pattern inside sketch mode. in creo 3.0 and 4.0 is there any updates on sketch pattern? I am using creo 2.0.With regards,Soumya
1.どのような製品とバージョンを実行していますか?Creo Parametric 8.0.1.0 2.
Hey folks!Need a bit of help...So I’ve got this huge assembly in Creo that takes forever to open — like 30-40 mins easily. When I peeked into the task manager, I noticed it’s only using a single CPU core, even though the machines/workstations have quad-core and some even octa-core processors. Is this normal for Creo? Or is there some any setting or config tweak I may be missing that can make it use all cores and speed things up?Many thanks in advance.Ciao,Srikar
Hi,I am adding a decal to my part, and as suggested in this ticket, I used the flip decal buttons to correctly align my image. Solved: Invert/Mirror Decal Appearence - PTC Community However, when I go to render my part, the image is "unflipped". When I get out of the render application and back to the modeler, the decal is in the correct orientation. Any thoughts on what can be happening here? Example decal on the part, as seen in the model view Same decal in the render view Thanks!

Hi PTC,I'm using creo6.0 with T1 license, I want to do modal analysis but the function seems unable, the button is gray. My GPU is nvidia quadro p2000 and I have already updated the driver. Please give me some advises, thank you!
Currently all lines of the views in the drawings are the same, and only get to their required state (thickness) during export, when pen tables control how thick the lines are. I would like to remove the use of pen tables and start seeing actual thicknesses on the screen during development of the drawings. I tried playing with line thicknesses in line styles and I think I could make it work. But I only managed to change the line thickness for existing views, however any new model views still default to thin lines, regardless what I set as default line style. I might be using that default line style functionality wrongly because no matter what I do with it it doesn't seem to change anything. Is there a way to set the styles of the lines for new views in the drawings? I would like to set the model edges to be slightly thicker than surfaces (quilts) of cosmetic threads and crosshatches in cross-sections. I am on Creo 9. Many thanks for the help.
I'm exploring using Styles to provide simplified views of large welded sheet metal assemblies. (Eg, hide a chunk of components to show an earlier stage of assembly process, make some transparent for clarity). I'm also exploring modelling welds. Currently I have a lot of floating midair solid welds when I Blank components in different Styles. Surface welds interact as expected with Blank/Unblank, but solid welds stay visible when Blanked through the design tree or view window. (They then have the option to Unblank when selected even though they're still visible.) Checking View Manager -> Style -> Properties, they're not listed. However, if I change the display style of solid welds (eg make them transparent) they ARE listed and I can Blank them from the Properties window, which works. I know I could just use surface welds, but I would like to have the capacity to use solid welds without this workaround. Is there something I'm missing that explains why they won't jus
I'm not sure of the best way to do this, but I know it can be done from a previous job. I would like to create a table where the user can selection options like they would in a symbol and their selections would populate the table. Basically, I'm trying to create a "Applied Standards" table where the user can pick the relevant standards from a list and put them in the table automatically. What is the best way to go about doing this? I don't really see a way to do it with repeat regions or in the symbol gallery.
Would anyone know how to model a locking patch screw feature like the one you can find in the STEP files that are available from McMaster Carr with the threads modeled? As the picture shows, there is a very small protrusion coming off the screw threads to represent the locking patch. I can easily create a datum curve and project it onto the threads, which for all practical purposes is sufficient. But I am quite annoyed that I cannot figure out how to actually make it as a protrusion. If McMaster Carr can figure it out, it seems like I should be able to. I find the visible locking feature quite handy to make sure the locking patch is actually engaged with the mating threads. Eternal thanks if anyone has any suggestions.
Hello, We have 3 jLink (java) applications/plugins correctly running on PTC Creo 7 + Java 8. Now we're testing Creo 7 + Java 11 (because of future upgrade to Creo 9/10 with Java 11). We've compiled plugins files with a same JDK11 but one of the plugins fails running with message 'Startup of application "app name" failed.' Plugins configuration is same, they're using same otk/pfc dependency, same java version for compilation and same Creo 7 instance. I've found this article but most of points are not suitable as other two plugins are running properly. Is there a more detailed log file of creo application startup to see any detailed information what goes wrong when starting plugin? Any other idea how to debug/investigate it? Thank you very much.
Hello, I imported a CAD assembly into Creo and now I want to export the assembly as a creo asm file. Would it be possible to export all files in that assembly as a creo part file? Please see the image attached. Also, I noticed that when I export it is only the assembly not the parts within the assembly is there a way around this or is this the extent of exporting? Thanks in advance!
I want to centralize the config.pro in a shared drive location. Basically, when users launch parametric, it has to use the config.pro from that shared drive. I have gone through few articles and came to know about config, sup and I'm still not clear the concept of this. Please assist me here. Thanks in Advance!
I'm trying to use a subroutine to create multiple parts in one program. But instead of incrementing the position each time, it just cuts the first part position over and over again. I've tried absolute / incremental, and I've tried the different "base coordinate system" options, and they all have the same effect. My post isn't set up for subroutine program calls, so I always have "Copy CL" selected. The simulation shows all 400 parts being cut correctly, but on the machine, only the first position is cut (over and over). It always outputs a fixture coordinate system (G110, G111, G112, etc.) and the X/Y positions just stay the same in each block. I want the X/Y positions to increment with each block. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Or if there is some post option I need to edit?
I am using Creo Parametric Release 11.0 and Datecode11.0.1.0Buongiorno. Grazie mille. Buona giornata.
There are a bunch of hidden parts in my assembly I want to see but when I unhide them with the "show" button they don't show up. If I open up just the part by itself, it just opens up an empty part. I can see the outline of the part when I hover over it in the navigation tree but I can't find any way to enable it. Any help would be appreciated! I was sent this file so maybe it has something to do with the parts being on someone else's computer but half of them load so I don't really know why it's not working. Below is a picture of the hidden parts and the outline I can see. Clicking suppress, activate, or show doesn't do anything. This is what I see when I open the part. It only ever has the outline. (I made sure the display style isnt in wireframe)
