Hi alls,I'll have to make hi-quality video animations soon.I've read sometime ago that Blender could be use to make hi-quality videos from ProE models. Can someone tell us if it's true, how to do, is there any tutorial anywhere... ?So, I've seen that 3Dvia composer could be a good solution for this kind of job (between 6000 and 7000 euros). Is it a good solution ?Any comment ?Thanks,GB
I've had the crazy idea that a Sys Admin for a Pro/E system would spend a lot of time working to elevate the abilities of the system's users. This by creating training material, utilities, guided training, and integrating higher levels of the company into the ways of using PTC software to their advantage.Am I wrong?Dave S.
If PTC actually put out materials on how to set-up and use their software their VAR's would have no V to A (and wouldn't have any income either). They have to make their money somehow. Setup and training are an "additional fee". Jeff
We wanted to inform you that we will be hosting a Creo Elements/PRO Wildfire 5.0 (formerly Pro/ENGINEER) training class in Southern California during the week of October 10. If you or any of your colleagues are interested in this please let me know as soon as possible so that we may reserve a seat for you. The location has normally been at the La Mirada University of Phoenix but the location may change depending on the location of the majority of students.albertom@nxrev.com
Hellowe recently purchased the complete machining licence for ProE. We sent our users to training and came back very disappointed as they said"WE have NEVER seen another CAM software without canned cycles"I am not a CAM expert and rely on my users. However, this situation has created a misconfidence in using ProE for CAM.The other areas such as milling are find but the users focus on this aspects. We are using WF4M150.I take our company is not the only one using Complete Machining (we also have production machnining too) and canned cycles must also be a concerned for other users. Our consultants seem to be helpless in providing us with a solution which will provide us with canned cycles. Is that just a mental representation and indeed, it is not needed, just nice to have, is it really a missing feature.I would like to hear from your experience, what you think of this situation and how you by-pass this lack of "critical" feature as some of our users say.Thank youBest regards
Hi,I’m a proe fun and most of my time at work is dedicated to ProE.Is it there anybody that cares about a proe user that like ProE and want to learn everything that is new in Wildifre5?Seems that the company doesn’t buy any training.PS:I promise to use these tutorials just for my purpose.Thank you and Merry Christmas to everybody
Hi,i am looking for a tutorial for the sheet metal package, i am trying to use it to create a cover over to existing parts and i was hoping it would help me design one that simply fits exactly to the existing contour and afterwards unfolding it so i get a drawing for the cutting machine.
where can i have best tutrial for pro-mechanica....... Please help me........... thanks in advance
I have 30 SolidWorks users and a few of them want to learn ProE, problemis I only have 8 active seats of ProE which are all being used on adaily basics. I also have 10 inactive seats identified as release " WF 4.0 PreProd FltLic" which would be sufficient for training purposes. What build code is the preproduction version of WF 4.0, I thought it wasF000 but tech-support is telling me it would be C000 I'm between a rock and a hard place, if C000 is the only preproductionversion would anyone have it and be able to put it on an FTP site? Regards,
Hi,Has anyone ever used, or is currently using, CoCreate Personal Edition? I noticed that it's a free download, complete w/ 3D and 2D capability. I currently use Pro/E Wildfire 2.0 Training Edition for all my 3D and 2D needs, and was wondering if CoCreate would be a good software to use as well.If anyone can give me any feeback regarding the software, it would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.
PTC asked users of all CAD products what their biggest CAD frustrations are and how they'd like to see that frustration eliminated. Watch one of the top suggestions on how to deal with the difficulty of training and mentoring new or less savvy users.
Can anybody share a tutorial on how to create revolved sheet metalparts? I've searched the internet & have only found mostlytut's on creating flat walls. John
Hello all, I am trying (for first time) to do an animation in Pro-e WF3, using aPTC tutorial booklet. I am not finding the icon of "Drag model and create snapshot". Thisoption is not available on pull down menu too! Does any one have an idea where this icon is roaming around? 😞 Thanks and regards, Jnanesha KS T 91-80-4119 0900 Ext: 233F 91-80-41190901M 994 500 4179Quality Engineering and Software TechnologiesNo 55 l QuEST Towers l Mahadevpura l Whitefield Main RoadBangalore l 560048 l www.quest-global.com

I need to train a new user in the use of 3 axis milling and I do not haveanyone who can give him first hand input for a prolonged period of time toget him started. Does anyone have experience of
We're rolling out WF 5 today. We had training last week with our user base. One of the things that users were excited about was the no-failure mode. As an admin, I'm not so much excited about it. We currently have it on, and we'll see how we get along with it, but at this point, I'm a little bit skeptical. My biggest fear is that I do NOT want any production data to have any kind of failure, period. In the past, this was easy enough, because you couldn't continue until you had successfully dealt with the problem. Now, you can circumvent all of that... Of the companies that migrated to WF 5, what has been your experience with no-fail mode? Have you left it on? Have you turned it off?
I am in the process of altering the design of a screwed-together, sheet metalflue stack. I am interested in evaluating the sheer stresses that result on the screws when a prescribed load is applied to the top of the flue stack, resulting in a wrenching motion away from where the stack is secured. The end goal of this is to be able to select a design with a minimal, but appropriate, number of screws and also to be able to use this kind of analysis for future investigations. [See attached for clarification, hopefully]Is the only way to accomplish this to model each individual screw and run a simulation or is there a way to use the fastener simulation to get the needed results? Also, does anyone know of a good tutorial that includes the fastener function in Mechanica? Thanks in advance for any advice.Ben CornIngersoll Rand-
All,I think one great aspect of a community like this one is that this can be a great resource for the younger designers who have just started their careers or the designers-to-be who are attending college still.I am sure we have many experienced designers here and I bet each of you has at least one tip to share that could be helpful for the youngsters. I am not talking about "how to do this in Pro/E" or so, more about generic things like- should I sign up for any industry associations to build a network- should I read any trade magazines- what to look for in a job description- should I do any additional training next to my job- ...Maybe some of you have done things earlier in your career that you would now do different? Or you have read a book that turned out to be useless?Look forward to reading your posts!Bettina
Hi everybody,I would like to try orthotropic properties for analyse a wodden part.Is there any tutorial or explanation somewhere I could read ?My part have a curved shape so I'm not shure Mechanica could handle orthotropic properties "along a curve" and not only using a fixed reference (Csys). Thanks for any advice,GB
I was asked, "does anyone in the Houston area provide pro/e training"? Of course it was qualified with the "except the $2000 (or whatever), week long class" Anyway, as I question the original questioner, turns out a buddy of his is recently un-employed and has lots of experience with AutoCAD, but has never used pro/e. He's trying use this "opportunity" to possibly improve his market-ability.I'm not sure what his budget is or if he is looking for college course or fast-track training or what. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Next week there arrive 2 new colleagues who didn't work with ProE jet. Does anyone knows where I can find a free manual which I can use to train them to work with Wildfire 3.0
ANY RECOMENDATIONS? I'm looking for a list of companies that can assess users ProE Knowledge and Capabilities. If you know of an automated assessment that's available, that would be good too. I also need to know which companies that can provide ProE training on a g<u>lobal</u> basis. Regards, WES
My consulting firm needs to train a couple of SolidWorks users on Pro/E for a new project. I went through the same process with Pro/E 2000i^2, and I found it frustrating. With so many similar concepts in the two programs, it’s too tedious to train users from the ground up about what a sketch and a protrusion are, etc. But the programs are still different enough that I know better than to just assume the SolidWorks folks will figure it out.Any recommendations?I've contacted our VAR (NxRev) to see what they offer and whether they can put together a custom course. I'm thinking a fast-paced 2-day course could work. Also, I see that Roger Toogood is still cranking out training books. I ended up using some of his myself when I made the conversion. Not as efficient as having a SolidWorks-savvy trainer guide you through the differences, but at least you can go at your own pace. Thanks,Wallace
