Hello all. I work with J-Link application for Creo 6 and 7. And I need to create a simple dialog with list of string items and OK/Cancel buttons. Items for list should be generated before loading of dialog. And my idea was to create a dialog by Creo UI Editor, load this dialog during application work and load string data to list on the dialog each time before opening this dialog. But I have problem. I can't even load the simple dialog. Creo just stuck and not responding when I try to call the method which should load the dialog. What I did: 1. There is a folder of application, called "dialog". 2. This folder contains a few files - protk.dat, DialogBox.jar and "text" folder. 3. "text" folder contains "resource" folder. 4. I created the simple dialog "test" by Creo UI Editor and saved it as "test.res" into "dialog\text\resource" folder. 5. Also I generated the test.java file which contains some initialization code for this dialog. 6. After that I created a simple DialogBox.java file whic

My program intent tis to create a Shrinkwrap of the current assembly.     I am using ProSolidShrinkwrapMdlnameCreate to create the SW.  And setting options prior to the function call as shown in the examples.  Export is working, but I need the Shrinkwrap to include a specific Csys.   The csys is a specific name.   So to my actual issue -  there are functions to set the options of the Shrinkwrap, and one is for including datum references - perfect!  ProShrinkwrapoptionsDatumrefsSet  takes for the second argument a ProSelection *   an array of Proselections.     Does anyone have an example where they have generated an array of ProSelection,  using a selection in which they generated from a geomitem?     (there are utilities in the Protk folder to find the csys by name and convert to sel)  I have that.     Thanks for any Help!

Hello,   I am new to Creo parametric. I have a requirement where I want to export a part/assembly/drawing from Creo Parametric to an external file(s), which in turn will be stored in some vault. I want to be able to import the file(s) back to creo parametric from the vault and get the part/assembly/drawing details same as it was originally, without any loss of information.   I have tried exporting the part file to Creo View format. But the when I try to import it back, some features in the model tree are missing. I am keeping the default import and export profile options. I have attached screenshots of the import and export profile options, original part and the re-imported part.   Is there any import options that need to be set or changed to reconstruct the part from exported file exactly as the original? Or is there any other format or method to achieve this?   Thanks, Apoorva

Hello,   Thank you for replying to my earlier queries, please help me with this. I have written a Java Async App which loads a model(drawing) in session and then generates its PDF via  Drawing.Export(filename, pdfexportinstructions);   I occasionally get an exception "pfcExceptions$XToolkitCommError" while exporting or sometimes while retrieving/displaying model. And the exception is random, which is making it hard to debug. I am using session.RetrieveModel(Model Descriptor) to get model from current working directory.If you need any information else, please ask. Quick help would be appreciated. Thanks

To all the GURUS out there.  Got any idea how to accomplish this?   Using Creo5. i would like to be able to select a part and in the RMB menu i would like to be able to choose "SHOW FILE IN WINDOWS EXPLORER" because i use a lot of search_paths.    Got any idea how it can be done?   I know you can launch windows explorer with a mapkey, but to have it open the explorer to a specific location that a part/asm file sits.

I need to add ballooning to all dimensions and notes in the drawing file automatically for part inspection purpose. Is there any way to perform this task? Further more, the ballooning and the respective dimensional details is required to be exported to a spreadsheet.

I have an async JLink application that has been running OK for many years. Now I am testing it with Creo 7 and any 'ExecuteFeatureOps' fail with 'XToolkitBadContext'. I have tried the new RegenInstructions option 'SetResolveModeRegen(true)' but it still throws the error. Has anybody any ideas?

Hello all, I recently switched company's and in doing so I am learning Creo now.  I have used Inventor for many years before this.  I like a lot about the software and still have a few frustrations with the limitations that it has as well from what I am use to.  Which brings me to my question is there a way to set up the drawing template or a setting in the software so that my start our as fraction dimensions rather than decimal dimensions?  We use fractions for everything but machined parts.  So if gets a little frustrating to have to remember to highlight all the dimensions and turn them into fractions after I am done.  Thank you for the help.

(Except for the letters I, O, J, ...)Is there a way to set the section names automatically A, B, C, instead of XSEC0001, XSEC0002, ....?   If this is important to anyone names such :XSEC0001, XSEC0002, please give us the option to configure it.   Yosef

What I need is to list down all dependencies of a Drawing, currently I am using model.ListDependencies(), but it only lists top-level.For example,  Drawing  ____Assembly ____________Model 1 ____________Model 2   Currently I only get Assembly, not Model 1 and Model 2. I just need the filenames of sub-models.   Thanks    

Hi everyone,   I have successfully developed a jlink Async app for CREO, and it is working perfect. What I need is that whenever I start CREO Parametric the app should be started too. Currently, I need to run the app through Netbeans, and then CREO is started via the code. So, is there any way I can register the async app globally so whenever CREO is started, my app is started along.Please respond! Thanks

Hello   A big headache once it is toolkit and Balloons..! 🙂 AFAIK, there is no API for Creo generated Balloons using repeat region...We can get variable text if balloons are created using custom symbol....   Now, we have come across scenario where user is creating balloon note (Table-->Balloons-->Balloon Note).we would like to iterate all the balloon notes in drawing. Same are getting collected from API ProDrawingDtlnotesCollect(). But obviously , this API collects all note, not only balloon note. Query is how to filter balloon note from notes?   Any suggestions on this would be very helpful.   Thanks a lot for your time and help...!

I am using Creo Parametric 5.0 5.0.2.0Dear sirs,We implemented an application for Creo Parametric and we added a ribbon to contain all our commands. So far so good, everything works. We have changed some of the icons (made them transparent) and now i wanted to use the new icons in Creo Parametric too. But whatever i tried (double/triple/quadruple checked that the correct icons where loaded, completely removed our UI-customization and tried to rebuild it from scratch) some icons simply refuse to appear transparent. I say some because i have two icons which work but the others don't... I am completely out of ideas what do do now. Do you have any ideas what could be wrong?
