Good evening,does anyone know how to use ProSelect() to let the user select a cylinder's silhouette edge on a drawing?Imy application the user should be able to select two points on solidgeometry - then I create a broken view with ProDrawingViewBrokenVisibleAreaSet(). If I pass "point" or "axis" as filter string (first argument) to ProSelect() everything works fine. I want the user to be able to select a solid edge - that works if we are talking about a "sharp" edge. I cannot select a silhouette edge with Toolkit. Is that right? Hi Community,   We are looking to create a new component parameter in assembly mode that is editable by occurrence.  A similar attribute that has the same capabilities is  ECAD_OWNER.  We were able to create the attribute in Windchill under the EPM Document Uses Link, and it performs correctly in Windchill, but we want to have this edittable in Creo.  I am wondering if anyone knows how to add a component parameter in Creo like this.  Here is a picture example of what the functionality would represent.  It would not check out the components within the assembly as it is considered a assembly parameter.   Windchill 11.0 Creo 4.0 MO90  

Hi all, we have linked our WTPart Mass attribute to PRO_MP_MASS, however to start populating mass information from Creo into Windchill we need to calculate Mass properties in Creo then designate PRO_MP_MASS before checking in. This apparently is too much effort for my users and they would like and automation. I have got something working via Mapkey, but unfortunately if you run the Mapkey a second time it will un-designate the attribute without indication to the user. So I need a more elegant solution which can use some sort of "if" logic to determine whether PRO_MP_MASS is already designated, does anyone have a similar problem with a similar solution, I have no background in Creo automation or customization.   Many thanks

Hello   For symbol instance present in drawing, we can identify name of parent symbol using API ProDtlsymdefdataNameGet.   This API gives correct name in case of Symbol Definition having name as Test. In case of Symbol Definition Name having Test (2) or Test(2), it is not giving full name and only provides Test as symbol Definition Name.   Am I missing something or is this way it works? Any suggestion would be of great help.

Does anyone know if it is possible to override the plot file extension used by the Creo Distributed Batch utility, and the "PLOT/PRINT to file, GENERIC POSTSCRIPT" Task Type Definition (TTD)?   I have tried everything I can think of, but the output plot files are still created with a .ps file extension.   There exists a PCF setting called plot_name that does exactly what I need (if set to no, then a .plt file extension is used instead of .ps for PostScript).   But I cannot seem to get the Batch file to honor the setting.   The help file implies a PCF file can be used to override relevant plot settings, but it doesn't say say exactly how to accomplish this.   I have tried adding my custom .PCF file to the "Configuration Files" node of the batch group, and have tried specifying my custom .PCF file location in the <PCF_FILE></PCF_FILE> element of the TTD file (found right under the <TKFUNC func="ProPrintExecute"> node).   No luck though. &nb

But when i use ml, or md, the comand always goes to m. Looks like two letters doesn't work.

Hello   We can extract feature element tree and find out which edges would have been used for generation of chamfer feature.   As we all know, it is possible to have two different sets of edges for chamfer creation. Through element tree, we are able to get edges used into definition of chamfer feature.   Chamfer creates additional edges and we can identify all edges due to chamfer feature using feature geom item visit.   We would like to map how to map two edges one which was used in edge definition with edge generated due to chamfer.   Feel free to ask for clarification if something is not clear.

Piling on Andreas' questions.Does anyone know the future of Creo Parametric Toolkit (formerly known as Pro/TOOLKIT)?At one point, PTC (Bipin Kochar) said as of Creo Parametric 6, Creo Parametric Toolkit would be replaced by Object Toolkit. Hello, i have a Programm for exporting drawings to different formats (DWG, DXF and PDF). Hi,   My requirement: Create a datum plane in assembly referring to a surface. Then use this datum to create a section in assembly.I created datum plane by populating element tree. wfcWFeature_ptr datumFeat= currSolid->WCreateFeature(elemTree, featOpts);   I get datum created correctly. Now I want to use this datum for creating section. so I query its ID by  planeID = datumFeat->GetId();  //ID i got is 43   When I create a section by  parentSOlid->CreatePlanarXSection(sectionName, planeId, cutObjtype, memberIdTable, quiltID, xtrue, compExcl); system gives me error.   So I reselected the created datum and checked for its ID, it is 44. Now if I give this ID to above section function, it works well.   Am I missing something to differentiate between planeID and datum feature ID. 

Hello Experts,   I want to cut one part by another in assembly. Manually this can be done using Component Operations->Boolean Operation->Cut.   How can we do it using OTK or Protoolkit.   Thanks  

I am new to Creo Object toolkit. I had some experience using Creo customization using VBA, that too few years back.   Problem: I want to create a section in assembly by picking a face of one part and want to know section of other part which is intersecting first part. I used sample example available in OTKXCrossSection.cxx Issue:  1. When I run the program and select the face of part as reference for PlanarXSection , it gives error as 'XToolkitBadInputs' 2. If I select the datum from the part, it creates section without any output. Hello. I have written a program to explore an assembly, by connection to an open PTC Creo session (using of ProEngineerConnect()). This program uses the function ProSolidFeatVisit(visit_model_cb) to visit each component of the main assembly. An the called function visit_model_cb() uses itself the ProSolidFeatVisit() function recursively. So, the entire assembly is visited. My probem is that I can not detect the hidden components, in visit_model_cb(). I tried ProFeatureVisibilityGet(), ProFeatureStatusGet(), ProAsmcompVisibilityGet() but all these functions return true for the visibility of the visited component, even if this component is hidden in PTC Creo. I would appreciate any help to solve my problem. Thank you. Best regards.  

I currently have a config pro setting for a web browser homepage. That works fine. What I am looking for is the ability to define the web location of a secondary tab so that the tab shows a defined web page. If there was a way to define a web favorite in the internal browser that would also be acceptable. 

Hi All   I am trying to identify zone location for note ProDrawingPosToLocgrid. For this purpose, note location is input. Location I got from API ProDtlnoteLineEnvelopeGet. As it is in screen coordinate, I tried to use ProDrawingSheetTrfGet and ProPntTrfEval. But everytime, ProDrawingPosToLocgrid is saying Row as A and Col as 1 and it is not changing position. Any thought would be of great help.

Hello   As we know CCpfcAsyncConnection.Connect would give ambiguity exception if there are more than one Creo session is there. In such case, GetConnectionId will help us to connect to specific Creo session. To get connection ID, we have option to get so by API GetConnectionId. I am having confusion of usage of this API GetConnectionId , i.e. how to use this same API to identify two or three different connection string based on number of active sessions.    Any thought would be helpful as I would like to give option to use end application based on session model name his / her application is going to get connected for automation purpose.   Thanks and Regards KEtan

Hello, I want to get a boundary curve from a Creo Parametric 3D-Model surface. Are there any useful methods in Creo Parametric Toolkit you know to get e.g. a vector of boundary curve points of a surface? When I check in a part or assembly to Windchill I want to ensure that the Lock (read only) is automatically reapplied. I've configured our set-up such that all objects are set as read-only when added to a workspace, but once it is unlocked, worked on and then checked in, it remains unlocked. I haven't found the option to "relock" on checkin.   Is there such a setting?

Hello   We have toolkit and toolkit for 3D drawing license. As we know , any API name present into documentation suggest that whether we need 3d drawing license or not apart from toolkit license...   Now , we have a big solutions where lots of api are used ... We cannot search for each api whether it is from 3d drawing license or not... How to identify quickly from entire solution that which api asking for 3d license ?   Many thanks for your help in advance.

Is it possible to use trail files for modeling. I was thinking to record some actions, some modeling, like select a specific publication in one part, and copy it to another active part. Then reuse that trail to my needed daily work.   Would it be possible? If yes how?

Hello, I´ve used the ProEdgeTessellationGet() method in my CreoToolkit App, but realized that I only get a few points as an output (22 points for a 180° 200mm arc). Is there any possibility to get a better tessellation of Arcs, etc. or to even set a distance between the  points of the output with the ProEdgeTessellationGet method? Thanks in advance

Hello   As we know, we can have dimension in drawing from part itself. All dimensions can be collected from solid by doing solid dimension visit for solid of drawing. Now, I am unable to recall visit API should be used to identify whether that solid dimension is visible in drawing or not.   I am having Creo 4.0 M070 toolkit license.   Something related to Displayed is there I guess, but that was deprecated and right now I dont have access to API

Hello everybody,   I have the following task/problem at hand: I have an assembly of several parts which are placed with constraints. These parts can be moved within defined limits (for example on a translation axis). How can i extract the limits and axis on which movement is possible with the help of JLink? The part of the documentation that I think is relevant (chapter: Assemblies and components) does not seem to provide a clear answer. I am using Creo 4.0 M070.   Thanks in advance for your help!!
