Dear All,Some news about Kotom-Eng: new macro for drawing a table from a csv file and vice versa.Have a look at http://kotom.eng.free.fr/drafting%20tools.php
can anyone help me in adding a table, in creo direct drafting? In creo direct modeling, we can add a table when the BOM is active. can we add a table without a BOM?
Dear All,Some news about Kotom-Eng: new macro for moving text in the center of a box or on a line.Have a look at http://kotom.eng.free.fr/drafting%20tools.php
I am having issues with Creo crashing when trying to add views to a drawing for sheet metal parts. I am able to initially add both a flat state and generic drawing view. However at some point after adding both view types, and trying to add another view to detail, I get a warning message (Error(s) in XXXXX\prodetail.dtl. See datafile.ers) and Creo will crash if I try to place the view. Does anyone know where the datafile.ers is saved, or how to find the setting in the config file causing the issue? I have searched my "start in" location, program files, and everywhere else I could think of.
First af all, as far as last friday Creo Drafting was normally working... Now it start normally but at the firsth command you give it freezes. Nothing to do... only Windows task manager --> End Task. This is already happend on other machine and the only solution we found it has been to format the machine Someone has some idea to solve this problem?
Is there a way to remove the gap, the space between dimension value and text you manually typed in a dimension? we have our dimensions setup as dual with the metric values in brackets.i would like my dimension to look like this: 14 X .50 DEEP, not this .....14 x .50 DEEP [355.6] [355.6]
Dear All,Some news about Kotom-Eng: new macro for replacing a string by another in all texts of the drawing.Have a look at http://kotom.eng.free.fr/drafting%20tools.html
Since Creo Drawings don't have a "Spell Check" function, I read somewhere that you can set one up in Model Check. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, does anyone know how?
I am trying to develop a drawing in which all annotations on all sheets are followed with the suffix "in". Is there a way of doing this without manually entering "in" into each annotation? Thank you,DAAAAA
Greetings, Pre 6.0 I know I could move text and pull dimension leader line.Where is the magic to do this? Please see attached. Thanks, WayneF
I am having non-solidified piping showing up in my section cut of my drawing that is outside of the section view. If I edit the view definition and change the Pipe and insulation display drop down to centerline it removes all of the floating pipe that isn't solidified yet. When I change it back to default it all comes back.
This is not exactly a CAD question, rather standards-related. Have anyone experienced breaking down drawing general notes, by adding another category of notes just for the purpose of listing notes regarding inspected dimensions? I looked in DRM and couldn't find anything pro or against it.
Hello, I'be been using Creo Elements Direct modeling and Drafting for few years and just updated to version 19.00. I see some improvements, but Drafting still lacks some of the features that might be very handy in my opinion. One of those features is an ability to lock certain parts in the part browser so you could still see the geometry, but couldnt accidently move the part which is possible now if you're working at the top level. It is kind of dangerous as well because you may accidently drag one part (layer) for just a tiny bit and never see it and it may be critical. In other 2D cad apps there is an option to lock the layer so user cannot select it, move it, etc. Would be nice to see such a functionality in Drafting. Another small, but annoying thing is a diameter dimension. Why is it so hard to make Drafting adding a diameter symbol to it automatically? It does it with the radius... Thanks. All, On 6.0. I would like to create a part and drawing using driving/show ordinate dimensions. I prefer to not use create dimensions. I am thinking the model needs to be set up as ordinate in order to show in the drawing. How do I set this all up? I am not seeing in config files. Wayne
Greetings, I am on Creo 6. I have 128 sheets in my drawing. I attempt to create a pdf and it freezes. There are some sheets with graphics, but most are boms. Any tips on getting this to work - or am I at the limitations of Creo? Thanks, WayneF
Dimensioning takes about 50% of the time for a drawing. There lies a great potential for improvement. The commands for Tangent Dimension DA_DIM_TAN in Drafting and am_create_dim_tang in Annotation was a big improvement.Previously you had to split the arcs at the right place before you could dimension them.If the command is active it is necessary to make three entries.First element, the second element and position of the dimension number. The chain dimensioning saves lots of clicks because you just have to select only the next element and the dimension number is automatically positioned. If the chain dimension would also recognize fillets, arcs, circles, it would be a great simplification of the dimension process. All kinds of dimension could be approved this way.
Grazie. Cristian
ASME Y14.5M-2009, section 3.3.2 states " . . . Where the same datum feature symbol is repeated to identify the same feature in other locations of a drawing, it need not be identified as reference. . . . . " However, in Creo 7.0.1 drafting, when I add datum symbol(s) to the same reference in another view, Creo automatically assigns the next letter - and then Creo complains when I edit it to what it should be, and flags the symbol as a 'duplicate' (despite what the ASME spec says)! Is this a know dimensioning deficiency in Creo, or is there a setting someplace to correct this? Or, is there a reasonable workaround?
Within the Modeling structure browser you can influence the display of the object names using configured browser views. Such as displaying database attributes instead of instance names. I would like to have the option to highlight objects (parts/assemblies) based on their database attributes. Assuming a part is locked (should be not used by designer anymore) within ModelManager it should be possible to define that the name is displayed within the Structure Browser in red color. Or imported parts are displayed in cyan color etc.
Hello, I have been facing this of MODEL MANAGER "abruptly closes" or "crashes" without any crash dump file - when "export" command. This is very annoying and troubling. Any support on this will be appreciated. I am using Win 10 Enterprise, HP ZBOOK G3, HP ZBOOK G6 - either hardware it MODEL MANAGER [ver:19] keep failing, suddenly program closes. Please consider to review this issue seriously Best Regards Ahmed
Hello, in the title block of drawing there predefined texts fields such as DRAWN DATE and NAME. When I try to edit them I get this warning: The selected text has a text reference with group 'tb' and type 'CREATOR' that may be modified by the related update function. The problem is I can't find the group 'tb' in the Groups table (Open text reference from the toolbar and click Act Group). How can I edit this information? Thanks. Anar
Hello, I cannot find recent reports about Modeling Express license check, but here (Bergamo, Italy) the license server is unreachable since two days ago. I already asked a PTC contact, but am still waiting for response. As a suggestion to PTC, I say that if I had a dream about this subject, it would be that all of these limitations, that make hardly comprehensible how other competitors can release slightly restricted free software, are finally removed. Thank you and have a nice Modeling. Marco
I am a new user, practicing Creo Elements / Direct Modeling. I am using the Express version until my employer gets the license for the regular version. I am migrating from Solidworks. I am trying to find the *.pk2 files for use in the Quickstart tutorial projects. The first few do not need them, but the later ones do. Where are these files downloaded or unzipped from? stereo.pk2 printer.pk2 GPS_device.pk2 engine.pk2
Creo Elemnts Direct Modeling 20.3.1 doesn't import Inventor 2020 and 2021 native (IPT and IAM) files. Customers need this data exchange, Creo 7.0 can import, so it is possible.
Please use the Data Exchange Creo Elements Direct label with Data Exchange content.
