Drafting

Our current workstations have 32 GB of memory. When loading a large assembly from Model Manager I find that SolidDesigner appears to limit itself to using less than 10 GB of memory (see the first screenshot below). The wave pattern of memory usage looks like the software needs more memory but instead of taking memory that is available it is dumping some memory already in use.   I have a new workstation that has 64 GB of memory installed but SolidDesigner still appears to limit itself to under 10 GB of memory when loading from Model Manager (see the second screenshot below). Is there a setting somewhere that is limiting how much memory Creo can use? I was hoping to see an improvement in load times with this new computer but I am not seeing improvement.

If you modify a part within an inseparable assembly, the modification state of the inseparable master is also updated. If you store the recently modified parts of an inseparable assembly using Save Modified, the whole assembly is stored. The modification is done by adding an additional view. As a consequence all views of the inseparable and the sheet gets the state “update needed”.   This behavior, in some situations, is not the best, because to update assembly views may require several minutes

Hello.  I use your demo version of Creo Elements Direct Modeling, but it is not working lately. I can’t open it. When I enter name and password it asks me about proxy server what I don’t know. It ran good but now doesn’t. Can you help me with it?

This is pretty simple, I keep getting the error, "Edges define an invalid mesh" when I try to create a skin from a spline.  The spline is connect all the way around and there are no duplicate lines.  I can't for the life of me figure out why this is not working. I have attached the package file with the spline. Can someone please help?

I am trying to change line style from solid to any other style in a view with display setting hidden lines. But, the hidden lines remain a solid. I've tried changing the widths with no success. I have not had an issue with this at other companies. What am I missing?

Hello all, whenever I want to load an item from Part library, creo elements direct modeling 19 hangs forever and i have to kill it with task manager. I can view the item, it hangs when i press middle mouse to complete the command. I can create screw connections, feather keys and gears with part library, the problem happens with the command with "load" icon. On google i found https://support.ptc.com/apps/solution_preview/solution/lang/presolution?lang=en&n=CS193389 which is exactly what happens to me, but i didn't found the solution. Is there a patch or a release? Thanks in advance 😉

I am attempting to save an update to a large assembly in our Creo Elements/Direct Manager Server. During the save process the status bar has said "Applying Transaction" for over an hour now though the little hour glass continues to spin. I can see via Task Manager that both SolidDesigner.exe and ModelManager.exe are still running and using alot of memory however there is no CPU or network activity. Is this process stuck or is something still happening in the background? Is there somewhere on my local computer or on the server where I can find a log of whats happening? I don't mind waiting this out as long as I know that eventually it is going to finish.

I know there were some posts about this a few years ago but I was wondering if anyone has any tricks to get Model Manager to run 64 bit or atleast with more memory. I have increased java memory (-Xmx) to the max of 1024m but I still get hangups when working with some large assemblies that we have. One assembly that I am working with now I can get to load if I set some sub-assemblies to load as partial however I cannot consistently get the top level assembly to save which I need to do when I create configs owned by the top level. The assembly has 150,000 child objects. Thank for your help.

Hello All,   Does anyone know if there is a way to customize the title bar text of the Creo 4 application window so that it reads a custom text string instead of just "Creo Parametric".   In Creo Elements Direct you have the ability to place an argument after the exe labeled -TITLE and then give it a text string that would show up in the title bar of the application window.   Thank you for all replies. Does anyone have experience with transitioning from IDEAS to CREO ELEMENTS DIRECT DRAFTING (2D only)?    Current struggle is exporting a .sym from IDEAS to CEDD, which I am finding is near impossible.   Thank you in advance!

Why is it that displacement for a cone is not rotational symmetric for an internal pressure? A sample model is attached (Creo 3.0) I've brought it back to the bare minimum. 1/4 cone, symmetry, default mesh etc. It doesn't help if you refine to enormous amounts of elements, Large deformationm analysis makes it slightly better, but it is never right?   Why is that? it should not happen. How do we solve this?   Extra: I've added a full 360 degree version in Creo2.0 format
