Hello, I plan to move my Model Manager 18.1 F000 Server (Oracle 11.2.0.2.0) to a new server which is configured with Windows server 2012 R2. 1st question: Would it be possible to keep MM 18.1 on the new server Win 2012 R2 ? 2nd question: If we move to MM 19.0, could you please give me the correct steps order to realize that ? 3rd question: Which version of Oracle should I install if I want to go for MM 19.0 on Win 2012 R2 ? Following the e-Learning program.   First they say that shells are not very accurate at areas of small radii. Then they say that in comparison with shells, solid elements are not accurate at areas of small radii.   So, models with small radii, (as a bike for example), should be simulated using shells idealizations or solid elements?     This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Although I do like Creo Elements / Direct Modeling Express and I appreciate that it is free, a problem with this program is that it is not very user friendly, in my opinion, and that can be frustrating.  I sometimes find myself unable to figure out how to do simple things and the help file sometimes doesn't help.  I am in that situation now.   I want to move a workplane in a direction normal to itself until it snaps onto a certain face which is parallel to the workplane.  That seems like it should be a simple thing to do but I can't see how to do it.  I thought I could use the 3D Copilot (in the dynamic position mode) and that when the pointer got over the face the face would get highlighted and I could select it and then the worplane would snap to it.  But it doesn't get highlighted and I can't select it.  Of course there are other ways to accomplish this, such as just creating a new workplane on the face.  But I have been running into this part

Hello,   I tried to perform an analysis of a problem from the PTC Help Center.   I get the same exact numbers of elements and equations. However, the result is QUITE DIFFERENT.   I checked all variables (units, measures...) and I cannot see my mistake. Have an engineer that is using Windchill to manage his design files. He's got ANSYS connected to Creo Elements Pro. When he sends the file to ANSYS it puts two pipes " | | " in front of the name and won't load it. I am guessing this has something to do with how ANSYS reads the file name or how Windchill shows it.   Any suggestions folks? We are planning to migrate from Creo Elements/Pro 5.0 to Creo 3.0, Also we have customized Creo Elements/Pro 5.0 which we intend to a larger extent according to our company needs, I want that same to transferred to Creo 3.0. Ich habe seit längerer Zeit nicht mehr mit Creo gearbeitet und jetzt wollte ich wieder einmal etwas machen und habe keinen Zugriff mehr. Man kann zwar einen Aktivierungscode für 72 Stunden  bekommen, aber das kann nicht die Lösung sein, jedesmal ein Code anzufordern. We are playing around with Creo Simulate and the non-linear large deformation parts.   It appears you cannot do non linear on beam or shell elements. I have two bearing rails on either side of a drill chuck.   Ordinarily, in my previous program, I would construct a line between the two outer parts, then move the inner part by selecting on it's center, and moving to the midpoint of the line I constructed, with a filter allowing it to only move in the plane I choose.   But with Creo, I cannot even snap on a part that isn't active. So in order to even draw the line between the two outer parts, I have to activate one, put a workplane on it, draw a point in the corner; go over to the other outer part, activate it, then draw a line between the active part, and the point I drew. Then I can snap to that midpoint, and move my part. Is this really how it's done, or is there some easier way?   Also, is there a way to snap to parts that aren't activated? Some commands do, some don't. And it seems the commands where I need it, it isn't there, and vice versa.   I have to add that I'm getting addicted to this program. It's a lo

Ehrenwerte Community, wir stellen bei unseren Fertigungszeichnungen eine Passmaßliste dar. Der Befehl am_dim_value gibt den Bemaßungswert zurück (Drafting: INQ 3). Nun ist der Wert 50.0000000000081 einfach größer als das dargestellte Maß 50 und somit wird in der Tabelle die nächst größere Toleranz gezogen. Statt -0,062 wird -0,074 bei h9 gezogen. Gibt es einen Befehl, ähnlich im Drafting (INQ 306), der nur den dargestellten Maßtext ausgibt und nicht den Maßwert? Besten Dank und viele Grüße J. Hi I am new to Modelling Express this seams an obvious question but how do I drill a hole in an existing model. I have an STL from a manufaturer for a simple ABS plastic box consisting of 6 parts the base, the lid and the 4 screws. My question is how do I drill a hole in the base I have created a workplane and drawn a circle but I cannot seem to create a hole in the one side of the box. If I use punch it goes through both sides of the base. When I look online there is only reference to the drill command which is not present in modelling express. Incorporaate making a Database to be created manually on Windows using the same Oracle tool (dbca). Having a “smarter installer” is a valid enhancement request (product suggestion). Avrei bisogno di un manuale per il formato di salvataggio dei files .mi da Annotation o Creo Elements/Sirect Drafting. Talvolta capita che riesca ad aprire il file con un editor di testo e.....con un po' di tentativi... riesco a recuperare gran parte del disegno. I was wondering if Creo Elements/Direct had the ability to open and modify native drawing ".drw" files created in Creo Parametric. Hi,     Does somebody know how to connect visual studio 2013/2015 with Creo elements direct modeling 18.1? DDE doesn't exist anymore in visual studio. We started using WorkManager in the late 90s and Model Manager since about 2005. Originally, when the files were saved, a VRML file (*.wrl) was created with the model.
