Some call him JB. Some call him Joe. Others call him @bironology. I call him an awesome guy—he’s our CTO of IoT here at PTC—Joe Biron! Joe’s an architect at heart, a developer, an avid gamer and a technologist (check him out on Twitter @bironology). Watch as he guest stars in the Microsoft Channel 9 “IoT Deep Dive Live” show! Listen to him explain how you can build end-to-end industrial solutions with ThingWorx and Azure. And, guess who’s running the demo behind the scenes: our Global ThingWorx COE Lead, Neal Hagermoser, who you may recognize from a previous Ask Kaya post where I interviewed him on why we chose to partner with Azure. Enjoy the show and stay connected! Kaya
Hi everyone, I have a repeater widget and i want to know if it's possible to set properties from the mashup that is inside the repeater to different things The purpose of this mashup is that, the user will set a value to the text box and this value that was set by the user will be sent to the property inside the thing. The problem that i am having is that when i set a value to the text box, that value is being put on both things instead of just one of then. Image of the Mashup below. Thanks!

I want to use categories to organize my properties on a Thing. Is there a way to get the list of categories implemented by the Thing? Preferably without having to get ALL of the Property Definitions and then running a Distinct snippet on the Category field.I also want to avoid using Thing Shapes as a way of organizing the properties. We have instances of multiple Things needing to implement the same Shape but having wildly different properties and thus, doubling the size of the Shape actually needed for each Thing.

From Kepware I need to connect a remote OPC UA Server and send data to the Manufacturing Apps. I have: Kepware installed on Server A OPC UA Server (non Kepware) on Server B From server A I can ping the Server B From Kepware I'm trying to connect the OPC UA Server using OPC UA Client driver, but I receive errors and the connection fails. I ‘d like to know if what I’m trying to do is feasible or not. Maybe my approach is wrong. Any help would be appreciated a lot Many thanks Martina Errors are: --> Creating the Channel, I receive the following warning There is no exact match for the configured endpoint URL in the UA Server. Attempting to connect using the configured URL. Channel endpoint URL = opc.tcp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:4840, server endpoint description URL = opc.tcp://yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy:4840/. Hi, I have the folloing situation: - I've installed some sensors, sending temperature, pressure and humidity. - I made a mashup, showing the temperature in time series charts. - Everything worked fine. Now we added airQuality to the sensors to send. So I added this field to the thingTemplate, my sensorThings inherit from - updated my service to write this as well. Everything looked working fine. Now the issue: All my time series chars now show the airQuality value, insatead of temperature. Even when creating a new mashup, setting it up and make one field to temperature... shows airQuality instead. And it is not a refresh problem from my browser. I can set the DataLabel1 to something - and it will appear... but still show wrong data. Can someone help me please!!

I'm trying to change the status field in one row or multiple rows by clicking the button above. For example, if I selected row 3, then I click the "Approve" button, the status field should become "Approve". The field Status in my data shape is string type, and I plan to write a service to overwrite the status of a row every time I click the button. I'm trying to do so, but I'm confused about what should I pass in as a parameter for my service, what should I return. Is there any built-in services that can overwrite a field of a data shape inside a data table. Thanks!

ThingWorx 7.4 introduces a new licensing system. A license file (license.bin) needs to be placed in the ThingworxPlatform folder. A new license file is also required if you upgrade from 7.4 to a major or minor release (not service pack-level releases). For example:• If you are using version 7.3, a license is not required.• If you upgrade from version 7.4.1 to version 7.4.2, a license upgrade is not required.• If you upgrade from version 7.4.3 to version 7.5.2, a license upgrade is required.Refer to the Installing ThingWorx 7.4 guide or Upgrading ThingWorx 7.4 guide for detailed process steps.Paid customers would have unlimited use of entities for 7.4.0. As currently a license file is locked to version rather than SCN/host and is part of download package on PTC Support, customers can use the same downloadable for multiple instances.Developer Trial Edition provides a constrained license file (5 users, 100 things, 120 days), and the license file is part of on premise dow

Hi everyone, i chose Thingworx platfom for my study project. In general, there is should be robot which sends and also recieves data from Thingworx mashup via Nodemcu ESP8266. I followed this tutorial, but it didnt work for me https://developer.thingworx.com/en/resources/guides/connect-adafruit-feather I tried to launch it on next 2 platforms with different UI for some reason https://ptcu-thingworx83-fundamentals.portal.ptc.io/Thingworx/Composer and https://academic.cloud.thingworx.com/Thingworx/Composer/ Got only some messages from port monitor like state: 0 -> 2 (b0) I actually confused about this, so is it possible to connect my ESP to one of these platforms and what the difference here? Can anyone help with some advice or even working example? Actually some simple operation of sending any number from ESP to Thing property would be enough for me. Thanks a lot in advance.
How can i create data table(s) with its data shape through service scripting?
Continuing our series of Troubleshooting ThingWorx Analytics installations, in this IoT Tech Tip we will cover two items have been appearing for many users. Error 1069 Encountered with Native Windows Installation of ThingWorx Analytics 8.2 In some instances, when a user successfully installs ThingWorx Analytics (TWAS) to a Windows Server operating system, they will encounter an error where TWAS will report an Error 1069: The Service did not start due to logon failure. This can occur with any individual Service that is created by the installation, the following fix should work in addressing the issue. Primary Reason This Happens: This error can be encountered when the user provides incorrect credentials for associating the Services to an account during installation.
