Hello, I think I need some help configuring some Datalogger Trigger settings. I have a set of tags that I wish to record during a specific operation where the frequency of the logged data should match whenever the value of a single monitor tag changes. I set up a condition-based trigger where under the general settings I configured the start and stop logging conditions to reflect the specific operation during which I wish to record data, and this behaves as expected. Since I only care about logging data when the value of a single tag changes, under the Logging Conditions menu, I set the 'Log on Static Interval' field to No and 'Log on Data Change' field to Yes. I set the Monitor Item ID to the tag whose value I want to drive the data logging, set the Monitor Item Update Rate to 1000 milliseconds (I am fine with checking the monitor tag's value once a second), and make sure there is no deadband type (because I wish to log any value change). And somehow, when I check my databas

Hello, We are planning to migrate an existing license (Siemens Suite- Perpetual / Kepware) from our old hardware to a new virtual machine system. Based on the attached details of the license - are we going to need additional licenses/upgrades before we can transfer the license to the new system? (considering that we will be deactivating the license in the old system after migration). Appreciate the assistance with this, thank you.

Hello!I'm doing a project that involves linking variables from an Excel sheet to tags of a Siemens S7-1200 PLC through KEPServerEX. I have successfully made a connection using the Siemens Ethernet TCP/IP Ethernet Driver.The PLC is going to be attached to a PC used by an operator. This PC doesn't have TIA PORTAL V16 installed, and we'd like to connect it to our S7-1200 with KEPServerEX. We also keep in mind that this PC is shut down at the end of every shift and turn on by the supervisor of the next shift.When we did tests and tried to connect the PLC to a PC via the Ethernet port without launching TIA PORTAL V16, KEPServerEX couldn't access the PLC IP (the one that you set in TIA PORTAL). It wasn't until we launched TIA PORTAL and connect it to our PLC, where TIA PORTAL V16 added an additional IP address to the ethernet interface (192.168.XX.XXX) different than the default IP address of the interface (169.254.XX.XXX), that KEPServerEX could access the PLC address through the newly adde

This was working yesterday, and during the night Windows installed updates and restarted the computer (this is on a development computer for now).  Not sure what the issue is. It connects to the DSN and says it is logging data. Then after that I get the recordset error, but no description of that the error may be.

Hello, We have BMS devices connected to Kepware KEPServerEX6 using BACnet/IP Driver. Devices are showing Bad(Out Of Service). Before few months reading were healthy.After firmware update on BACnet device, reading are steady bad.We restarted KepServer but still its same.

How to export/convert Kepware Server EX Server Certificate with *.pfx extension. I exported server certificate to *.der file and tried "COPY to File" option to convert to *.pfx file but .Pfx option is grayed out, so can not convert it. Need help.

I have floating point data via modbus to my kepware, i want to take the hexa data from kepserver to thingworx. I tried to take the float data and convert it to thingworx but the result is not the same with the one in thingworx. Could anyone please help me on how to send the hexa value of my tag from kepware to thingworx? 

It is about the data rates connection with Thingworx? what is the priority with the data rates of tags?

We have a topic created in AWS environment where we are planning to write values using MQTT client. But the MQTT agent is unable to connect to the topic. Error : MQTT agent IOT PBM5305 disconnected - reason 'null'  we also referred the PTC article CS378797. But issue is not resolved. Kindly suggest workaround.

I have Ignition connected to KepserverEX 6.13 as an OPC client. I'd like to build dashboards, reports and alarms in Ignition to monitor performance statistics as we scale out our system - adding more devices, channels and tags. I know most device drivers provide a count of active tags (e.g. <Channel Name>.<Device Name>._System._ActiveTagCount), but is there a way to access the total number of tags defined in the Kepserver Project, as displayed in the "Tags Defined" field Property Editor dialog for the Project? I'm looking at _System._ActiveTagCount at the root level, but this number is not matching what's displayed in the dialog box on Kepserver. For bonus points, is there a good post or white paper out there for best practices on dashboarding Kepware in general - what are the prudent metrics to be monitoring and thresholding for alarms, etc.?

Hi, I have two OPC clients (both support DA and UA) which I would like to connect via an existing KepServer instance with OPC connectivity suite installed.  What is the best practice here to create/add the OPC tags to KepServer. My initial thought of using simulated tags (without a simulation function) and connecting both OPC clients with the KepServer Simulation Driver works, but I am not sure if this is the best way for production environment. Could you assist me on this?

Can we get the data from OPC aggregator where in OPC aggregator we need to connect OPC UA servers.Please suggest the workarounds to get data from OPC Aggregator to Kepware. Also please let me know where can I download the OPC aggregator.

We need to acquire a licence for an OPC UA Client driver. We have two Kepserver systems(licensed with SNMP Suite) and have set up OPC tunnelling between the two systems, but the feature OPC UA Client is time limited on one of the systems. What is the right software suite to purchase. We are looking at purchasing the OPC Connectivity Suite. will this be adequate for the Kepserver system setup with the OPC UA Client driver configuration.  

Is there a way to change settings/configuration in Kepware which can allow us to remove duplicate data coming from devices? Its being fed into ADX and there we are getting lot of duplicate rows with same timestamp, telemetry value etc.

Does the timestamp for a value change when the quality changes? This can be when the quality goes from Good to Bad as well as when it goes from Bad back to Good

Is   KepServerEx 6.15 version compatible with Windows server 2022 and SQL server 2022. Can anyone post windows server specification for   KepServerEx 6.15   Thanks  

Kepserver scanning modbus devices, each channel has three devices preset, which all three have the same IP and ID. Port 502 is used. Setting 1 socket per each device on channel is set.I am getting big number of connection timeouts and random data collection disabled. All timeout/retires settings are already maxed out.Attached are event log from offshore live system, some screenshots to present config from demo/test system and a .csv export example of one device from three on one channel.

Hello, I am pretty new to Kepware and was hoping for some guidance.  Using advanced tags or Thingworx, is there a way to convert decimal data coming from a Siemens PLC to ASCII and feed it into Thingworx?  The result I need to get should read like +99.9I was able to find a chart that shows decimal to ASCII, but I am not sure how I can make that conversion using Kepware/Thingworx. Using the chart I have, I can see that a byte sending a 43 from the PLC should be a '+' and a 26 should be a '.'  I am just not sure how to get those numbers to translate to those characters for the Thing I have created in Composer.  Nothing obvious is jumping out to me using advanced tags.  But I am very new to this software, so maybe the solution is very obvious?  Maybe I would have to create something in Thingworx using coding?  I'm not sure if it's possible or what approach to use.  Thank you for your patience with me!

I have a Chronos data logger in a machine that hosts an OPC-UA server.KepserverEX6 now accesses this data logger.The configuration is as follows:Driver: OPC UA ClientChannel Name: 207050_DataLogger_Test2Encryption: Basic256Sha256Message Mode: Sign and Encrypt Device Name: 0554 Now I added for Testing Pourpose a Tag:Name: PT100_3Adress: ns=1;s=Logger.PT100.3Data Type: Double This is working fine with the Quick Client.  But what I realy want is a Dynamic Tag from a Python Programm:That we do not need to add the Tag in Keyserver, but Easy get Access over the Kepserver OPCUA Client with tunneling. why does the adress do not work? ns=3;s=207050_DataLogger_Test2.0554.ns=1;s=Logger.PT100.3The Error Mesage that i get is:opcua.ua.uaerrors._auto.BadNodeIdUnknown: "The node id refers to a node that does not exist in the server address space."(BadNodeIdUnknown)

I have an KEPServerEX 6 and have a installed one OPC DA Client connection.This OPC DA Server is on the some Windows and the connection is working fine.When i cancel the a Connection from the OPC DA Server to his clients the signal get Bad and then alsothe Singal in the KEPServerEx get bad. But the Problem is the _Error Bit of the Device in the KEPServerEX keeps false so i dont know that i have an error.I tried then to activate the watchdog of the device but the KEPServerEX switch da setting back to deactivated without any message.
