Kepware

We need to acquire a licence for an OPC UA Client driver. We have two Kepserver systems(licensed with SNMP Suite) and have set up OPC tunnelling between the two systems, but the feature OPC UA Client is time limited on one of the systems. What is the right software suite to purchase. We are looking at purchasing the OPC Connectivity Suite. will this be adequate for the Kepserver system setup with the OPC UA Client driver configuration.  

Is there a way to change settings/configuration in Kepware which can allow us to remove duplicate data coming from devices? Its being fed into ADX and there we are getting lot of duplicate rows with same timestamp, telemetry value etc.

Does the timestamp for a value change when the quality changes? This can be when the quality goes from Good to Bad as well as when it goes from Bad back to Good

Is   KepServerEx 6.15 version compatible with Windows server 2022 and SQL server 2022. Can anyone post windows server specification for   KepServerEx 6.15   Thanks  

Kepserver scanning modbus devices, each channel has three devices preset, which all three have the same IP and ID. Port 502 is used. Setting 1 socket per each device on channel is set.I am getting big number of connection timeouts and random data collection disabled. All timeout/retires settings are already maxed out.Attached are event log from offshore live system, some screenshots to present config from demo/test system and a .csv export example of one device from three on one channel.

Hello, I am pretty new to Kepware and was hoping for some guidance.  Using advanced tags or Thingworx, is there a way to convert decimal data coming from a Siemens PLC to ASCII and feed it into Thingworx?  The result I need to get should read like +99.9I was able to find a chart that shows decimal to ASCII, but I am not sure how I can make that conversion using Kepware/Thingworx. Using the chart I have, I can see that a byte sending a 43 from the PLC should be a '+' and a 26 should be a '.'  I am just not sure how to get those numbers to translate to those characters for the Thing I have created in Composer.  Nothing obvious is jumping out to me using advanced tags.  But I am very new to this software, so maybe the solution is very obvious?  Maybe I would have to create something in Thingworx using coding?  I'm not sure if it's possible or what approach to use.  Thank you for your patience with me!

I have a Chronos data logger in a machine that hosts an OPC-UA server.KepserverEX6 now accesses this data logger.The configuration is as follows:Driver: OPC UA ClientChannel Name: 207050_DataLogger_Test2Encryption: Basic256Sha256Message Mode: Sign and Encrypt Device Name: 0554 Now I added for Testing Pourpose a Tag:Name: PT100_3Adress: ns=1;s=Logger.PT100.3Data Type: Double This is working fine with the Quick Client.  But what I realy want is a Dynamic Tag from a Python Programm:That we do not need to add the Tag in Keyserver, but Easy get Access over the Kepserver OPCUA Client with tunneling. why does the adress do not work? ns=3;s=207050_DataLogger_Test2.0554.ns=1;s=Logger.PT100.3The Error Mesage that i get is:opcua.ua.uaerrors._auto.BadNodeIdUnknown: "The node id refers to a node that does not exist in the server address space."(BadNodeIdUnknown)

I have an KEPServerEX 6 and have a installed one OPC DA Client connection.This OPC DA Server is on the some Windows and the connection is working fine.When i cancel the a Connection from the OPC DA Server to his clients the signal get Bad and then alsothe Singal in the KEPServerEx get bad. But the Problem is the _Error Bit of the Device in the KEPServerEX keeps false so i dont know that i have an error.I tried then to activate the watchdog of the device but the KEPServerEX switch da setting back to deactivated without any message.

HeyI connected a new S7-1200 type controller under the Siemens TCP/IP ETHERNET Driver and I get an error in the event log ofTime limited usage period on feature siemens s7 plus ethernet has expired.I would love to understand the essence of the error or why it is created? Is the definition not good/accurate or is it an inappropriate type of license?If the settings are not good / accurate - I would appreciate your help.Thanks,

 My runtime configuration is locked.  I cannot find information in the manual about this condition or how to remove it.  Does anyone know how to remove this lock?

Hello,In CODESYS, we changed the timestamp of symbol list file, could this cause any error? because we got an error: "Failed to retrieve symbol list from device or file."Also, how can we retrieve the symbols using the device option instead of files?

Hello PTC team community i have resently restart my host and Virtual server and after restart the services of Kepware now it's showing error 1053. currently all tags are offline please need solution, or if you guys have any idea regarding Error: 1053

I want to be able to edit the template for the message outside of the gui in the KepwareEX server. Is this possible?  Where are these templates stored?

Hello all,   Recently I have configured 1 channels with 15 devices in that over modbus tcp/ip, which scan the data from fuji HMI. The hmi is programmed to send the data or parameter on every second to kepserver over Modbus tcp/ip,    The problem I am facing not regarding the connectivity  but the data is not updating on kepserver on every seconds. It gets refresh nearly after 30-40 seconds. Which is heading me in a problem from further scada system and its data logging. I am unable log the data at required interval.    Kindly suggest what can be the solution to get rid of the problem for this,     Reagrds  Bharat Vinchwekar 

Hello, Just facing an error "Error LinkMaster\Runtime Asynchronous 2.0 write complete notification for item 'STN0159\Yokogawa.ExaopcDACS1.1\FCS0201!SIEMENS_5.DT15' failed (HR=C004800E)."  What does it means?  Data Quality is Good but continues logs are updating in Linkmaster event log.  Linkmaster Latest Version installed. Best Regards,Bhadresh Rangi

Is there a way to enable and disable the log group with a trigger from a PLC? I need to have the data logger create a new table each time the log group is triggered.

Hello, I am collecting snmp data trough Keepware snmp suite and converting data to OPC server for my SCADA system. I see that i often loose memory , CPU and HDD reading after  a reboot. I then ca see that OID address has changed. is there a setting or a way to detect this in keepware snmp suite software ? 

I have used Link tags successfully with standard data types but am having difficulty with strings and DateTime.I am trying to move data from an ODBC/MYSQL database.  The standard data is moving fine, but two types are not moving correctly.  Strings, DATETIME, and Long variables.  The ODBC driver reads LONGs as strings, so essentially it is string-type and Date-type links that aren't moving.  I created the links using the GUI instead of typing them by hand, so the fields are correct.Quick Client shows the data read into the tags in the ODBC device tags, but in the PLC tags on the output of the links are all quality BAD/value UNKNOWN. DWords are reading correctly.Any thoughts?.  

Hello all. I have been trying to create an advanced tag by comparing the Logic_cond from a MT Connect Mazak Tag.  The idea is to populate PTCAvailabiltyFaultCode of DPM with this advanced tag. This advanced could be a bolean value; Whenever the Logic_Cond is "Normal" then it should write over this new tag as 1 or 0.  We have tried by using a derive tag, complex tag (we are still new to kepware ) but whenever we try to write this new "combined" tag it just pops up that the tag is not writeable.   

Hello everyone! I have two kepservers (one reading tags from a siemens 1200 drive and other reading tags via modbus). Can you please tell me how can I share tags from the kepserver with siemens drive and read it as a register on the kepserver with modbus drive? Thanks in advance

Hello,I have two PCs communicating over OPC DA protocol. One is OPC Server, while second one is OPC Client. On OPC Client I am using KepServer OPC DA Client. I configured DCOM setting according to this page: https://www.softwaretoolbox.com/dcom/html/dcom_for_windows_7-_10-_-_server_2008r2.html . I have latest Windows patches installed which requires from me to use the "Default Authentication Level set to “Packet Integrity” .The problem is that when I try to connect to OPC DA server, KepServer is showing an error that OPC Client failed to establish callback from OPC Server. When i open Windows System Logs I see error "The server-side authentication level policy does not allow the user MCSB\BHAdmin from address 172.16.3.44 to activate DCOM server. Please raise the activation authentication level at least to RPC_C_AUTHN_LEVEL_PKT_INTEGRITY in client application." That leads me tu guess that I need to change configuration of OPC Client of KepServer, to Packet Integrity. Does anyone know ho

I am using the Data Logger plugin to send machine status to a mySQL server.I have machines that are offline but it is still sending a value into the database. for example, in the screenshot here, PARR-LINE-L sends CycleCount and Status to the database. it uses numeric ID 1.it is sending in the quality as 0 meaning its quality is bad but also sending in the production count of 561. when i check the live data, the quality is bad because the machine is off but the value is marked as unknown. Why is it sending a value of 561? Ifi delete the datalogger group for that machine and then recreate it it seems to work for a while and then goes back to doing this.

Hello everyone, I have a PLC Tag with a 32-bit float address (400188). When I read this using simple Modbus, I obtain a value of 15104753. However, when I configure the same in Kepware, using the float data type with the same address, I see a value of 15116893. I have tried various configurations, but the values still do not match. Please refer to the device settings and suggest a solution for the issue. Thank you!
