Kepware

I have setup a BACNET device in Kepware....  How do you make the Tag Objects discoverable when a device tries to connect to the Kepware BacNet device ?

I am using PTC-Kepware evaluation copy to generate OPCUA Simulated data and it's working fine for customer demos. Many customer demands MODBUS RTU / TCP Simulated data from PTC-Kepware tool. 1. Is PTC-Kepware support MODBUS simulation?2. Where can I get training videos of Kepware tools?  

Is there a limit on the number of license transfers allowed for KEPServerEX?

I know the idea of using REST Client is to push data that makes sense and let the REST Server handle the other side of things. Howerver, the "otherside" in my case isn't as flexible. And the usecase am in, things will work only if the "|SERVERDATE|" send the actual date in yyyy-mm-dd formatAnywhere around having other handlebars variables to be used outside the |VALUES| part of the advanced template?

Hi, I have issue reading reading higher address from the same DB for Siemens TCP/IP driver (S7-400).I'm able to read e.g. DB15.INT3334 but not DB15.INT3396. The error code is "Unable to read data from device. | Data block = 'DB15', block start = 3396, block size = 2, Reason = 'Device returned data access error'. Error code = 0X5". I have tried the following but still doesn’t resolve it.PDU size of 240, 480, 960Increase request timeout from 5000ms to 10000msRedownloaded DB15I have another model 410-5H which can read such high address unlike 417-4.Is there any settings in CPU properties which limit the read address memory?Does anyone faces such issue?

I am trying to setup a MODBUS TCP server in Kepware.   I have defined ModBus Addresses such as 40001 in Kepware and am trying to access the data from a MODBUS client.... and it is NOT connecting...  Can this be done /or/ is Kepware's Modbus TCP driver only a Client ?

Hello,We are currently facing a challenge with our MES system's interaction with the Kepware OPC UA server, and I would like some guidance or clarification regarding logging and troubleshooting capabilities.Setup:Kepware Version: 6.15.132.0Kepware ServerEX 6 with multiple channels configured for MODBUS devices.MES system is connected to the Kepware OPC UA server.MES subscribes to specific device tags, but values do not automatically update in MES as expected.MES is configured to read/update these tags every 60 seconds.Problem:Without any other client connected, MES does not consistently receive updated tag values.However, when I open the Kepware Quick Client (or connect another OPC UA client such as OPC Router or UaExpert) to the same tags, the MES system suddenly starts receiving updated values again.This behavior suggests that connecting a third-party client somehow triggers or "wakes up" the tag updates.Investigation So Far:We have consulted our MES supplier, and they insist that th

I work with Howmet Aerospace, and we recently activated a couple of Kepware licenses for a couple of interface machines. Unfortunately, the local support mistakenly wiped those machines and repurposed them, thinking they weren't in use or something. So, we lost those Kepware licenses and cannot access the machines to transfer the licenses. I still have the request and response files from when we activated the licenses last, if that helps. I don't know exactly how to put in a support ticket.  I tried to navigate the site on my own and create one, but I kept getting stuck.  If you need more info from me on our product information, I can gladly give whatever you need.  If this isn't the place for this issue, I would at least appreciate being pointed in the right direction.  Thank you!

Hi new poster here,Im trying to connect a Turck I/O module to my KepserverEX 6 like the subject says, but I dont know whether that is possible. I tried using the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix Ethernet as my driver , and selected the ControlLogix 5500 model for my device, but i cant seem to create tags for it.  Please advise, thanks.

We are getting lots of tag from PLC devices (40+) to Kepware. Sometimes, due to some reason the connectivity is lost  between PLC and Kepware. So that we facing data loss issue. Is there any mechanism within a Kepware to address this connectivity loss? How to identify this connectivity loss from ThingWorx for all PLC devices?

Hello We are using KEPServerEX 6.17.240. We are trying to diagnose an issue with frequent disconnects between a Siemens PLC and KEPWare, communicating over OPCUA. We are looking at the OPC Diagnostic log from View -> OPC Diagnostic and I am looking for any documentation for how to interpret these events.   For example, we are continually getting these "ServerFaultResponses" (which are timeouts associated with a previous "PublishRequest". But there's really no documentation I can find to help interpret these. Some of the other logs have an actual program name in the brackets, where as this example has a seemingly random number. Is there a way to associate this number with a process? Is this number generated somehow by KEPWare or something like a ClientID from the actual OPC Client application?I'm basically looking for extra information about what some information in these logs mean, specifically for helping to interpret why we are flooded with timeouts and th

With reference to this topic i have talked with MAzak and in the new versions of the controller you can activate the CVARs, but the problem so far is y only can see the System and assets which at least in kepware we do not see the tool life/ Cvars Value, i can only see those in the XML locally

KEPServerEX 6.15.132.0We have 8 Allen-Bradley Compact Logix 5300 PLCs connected on individual channels using the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix Ethernet driver via a wireless Moxa Gateway device. We also have 4 Siemens S7 PLCs that are configured, but are currently powered down and offline. These devices have been connected for almost a year and working without issue. This morning all of the tags on all of the connected devices began showing Bad (Out of Service) tag Quality. Nothing has changed on the KEPServerEX side that we are aware of. The KEPServerEX event log doesn't show any errors, just a few warnings where devices that are not online have been automatically demoted, and auto-promoted to determine if communications can be re-established.We have restarted KEPServerEX and rebooted the Windows 2022 VM Server that KEPServerEX is installed on several. We can ping all of the connected devices and can Telnet into TCP/IP Port 44818 on all of the devices. We disabled all of the devices exce

Due to client's decision and to avoid the data lost because of client/server certificate need to renew every 3 years. we are agreed to change the security policy to "None"2) I have completed change the security level to "None" on the UA sever side. I have perform the loop back test and it's successfully (re-create the channel to connect locally).3) When I want to change the security policy from "Basic256Sha256" to "None". the setting on the UA client keep fall back to "Basic256Sha256" once I click the Apply and OK button.4) I tried to disable the tag scanning and configure, the result still the same.would it be the Authentication issue? default OPCUser issue? the log of the configuration HMI is showing i'm the administrator. seem like I can't update the security setting on UA client.

  

I'm trying to communicate CompactLogix L-18 ERM QBFC1 (firmware version 20) with Kepware (V6.13) and facing one strange issue.If I add the tags manually, I'm getting bad quality data in Kepware. If I try to add tags using automatic tag generation, I'm able to get few tags with good quality data but not all the tags present in the controller. Using .L5K file option, I'm able to add automatically all the tags present in the controller but data quality for all the tags is showing bad.Please help.

Hi, I have set up a number of temperature/humidity hardware controllers to a KEPserverEX.These hardware controllers will have to be powered off from time to time when the hardware is not being used.The client is a log software that automatically generates monthly data log files and requires noadministration.When the hardware is shut down it will generate a fault in the KEPserverEX event log and the client will time out on these OPC channels. Client log interval is 10 minutes with a scan of 2 cycles/s and channel. If I use the Auto-demote in KEPserverEX will the client receive anything else but a non response and time out on each request made to a non powered controller? I am open for any suggestions but particularly interested in the Auto-demote function. Would the Auto-demote add anything positive to my timeouts or is there a better way to handle this state? I am using KEPserverEX v6.9 and protocol Modbus RTU serial using Ethernet encapsulation.

Hi,  I'm currently using a trial version of KEPServer EX 6 for some testing and research. In my current set-up, I have a Matrikon OPC DA simulator server simulating some data for some tags. Then I have the KEPServer connecting to the Matrikon OPC simulator server via the OPC DA Client Driver, The KEPServer is used like a middleware to convert the Matrikon DA Simulator data into OPC UA protocol, for OPC UA clients to retrieve Matrikon DA simulator data. I am currently using KEPServerEX 6 demo and trying to establish an OPC UA connection with UA Expert for testing purposes. I have successfully configured a device (Omron NJ via Ethernet) and am able to browse and render the tag database correctly within KEPServerEX.However, I am experiencing the following issue:When I try to connect to the server using UA Expert, I get the following error:BadSecurityChecksFailedorThe server does not support the configured security policy "None"It seems that KEPServerEX is not allowing connections using the "None" security policy.I want to change the security policies in kep, but i cannot find any option to enable or change the supported security policies. Hi,I am using Kepserver 6.10 and trying to communicate with Lovato DMG610. DMG610 is communicating with NB114 (Serial to Ethernet Converter) and NB114 is communicating with Kepserver. There are total 13 devices connected. I am unable to define slave and Modbus address of DMG610 in Kepserver.  Kindly provide a solution for this. I am attaching the details for further referencing.
