Kepware

When using other OPC products, like Schneider OFS, we are able to see a list of connected clients, listed by the domain user name which was used to authenticate against the OPC server using DCOM. It is very useful at identifying which clients are currently connected to an OPC server. Kepware does not provide this functionality. The closest seems to be by viewing the _System._OpcClientNames tag using an OPC client, however this does not work when an OPC client doesn't have a name defined, which is usually the case for our OPC clients (Pi, Citect), making it impossible to know which clients are connected to a Kepware OPC server. Whenever I connect via the quick client and view the _System._OpcClientNames tag, I only ever see QuickClient in the list even though there are multiple other clients connected. Does anyone know if there's a way to achieve the above with the functionality currently available in Kepware? Or is this a feature that is simply not possible in Kepware? Curren

Hi Everyone, I have one "Double" data type Derived Tag in Advance Tag logging/refreshing at ever 30sec. I want to subtract latest value with previous value (logged before 30sec ago) & store the this subtracted value.  Oracle cummulative tag not working, tried as per manual.   Pls find the attachment for more in details.   Pls help on this.   Regards, Vijay      

Product: KEPServerEX 6.12.325.0 + ODBC plug-in I use ODBC plug-in to upload data from MariaDB to KEP OPC DA server. It is working very well. But  the timestamp of a tag on OPC DA server is not updated when the value on MariaDB is not changed.  I'd like to make the timestamp updated always no matter whether the value is changed or not. Is it possible? Please let me know how to do.

I am trying to read,write data from EXCEL to kepserver by using DDE client.  But I am getting communication quality as bad. I have made Run time process mode as "Interactive". when I am trying to connect runtime the below error is showing"Configuration Connection attempt to runtime failed. | User = 'LAPTOP\PRASANTH KP', Reason = 'The specified account does not exist.'."

I am having issues with my OPC UA Connection with a Redlion Database station 3.1   Before of this Sunday everything was communicating but something has happened and I am wondering if anyone has run into this issue.  There are no error messages in the Event Log and it looks like the device connects to Kepware via the Clients status at the bottom of the app(you can see it toggle on/off when we pulled the Coom Cable).    There is no data being transferred.  Please let me know.  

I am attempting to import tags for a newly added Device. PLC is a Siemens S7-315-2 PN/DP. The PLC project was originally created in Netherlands with comments etc in a mix of English and Dutch language. The PC's at my location are all localised for English only.   Kepware Error messages: Step 7 language file failed to open. ¦OS error = C:\ProgramData\Kepware\KEPServerEX\V6\1640396820\Global\Language was not found.'.A required code page is unavailable on this machine. Tag generation may fail or tag names and descriptions may not appear as expected.¦Required code page = 0.      

 Anyone else waiting weeks for Sales support to call, email you?   It's been a week and no one has reached back to me about quote for support for KepserverEx.    

Good day. We use KEPServerEX 6.6.350.0. During installation it installed Microsoft.NET Core 3.1.31. Can we upgrade Microsoft .NET Core 3.1.31 to Microsoft .NET Core 3.1.32? Thank you.    

Dear community,I am trying to connect to a device with UCON;I can communicate with the device with ASCII strings over a terminal;unfortunately it doesnt work if I enter my ASCII string in Kepware.The device only recognizes ASCII strings; if I copy my ASCII string from a converter with the CR and LF into the terminal it works and responds.If I try to insert the string into Kepware's Interface it doesnt work.Manully inputing the string and entering  ALT+13 for CR and ALT+10 for LF also doesnt work.The device doesnt answer to the string. How else can I enter CR and LF into the interface? I can't seem to find anything about it on the net or help.Thanks in advance. 

I am reading some tag values programmatically and for some reason the Kepware tags being read are passing the system time instead of the recorded timestamp value. I can see the correct value when viewing in the QuickClient, however when I call on the program to read the values the timestamp value is changed to whatever time the read is made.  Has anyone ever seen something like this?      

Hey guys ! I know this question has already been asked but no answer was given.I am using the KEPServerEx V6 and I want to read values from #10000 and beyond (there is no letter at the beginning, just #) via the Fanuc FOCAS com. protocol. When I try to do so, I am getting the error : "Address '#10095' is out of range for the specified device or memory type." There is nothing for that range of addresses in the appended pdf.  Thank you !  

Is there a way to test the system tags of the PLC ? (The devices have no connection the actual physical devices) I've the "._System._error" tag connected to a SCADA and wanted to display the tag to show some sort of lifesign to the device. Regards,   

I am trying connect my Power Monitor 1000 (Allan Bradley) to Kepware for data collection. I am using the Modbus TCP/IP driver but I am currently having problems reading float values in Kepware. In the datasheet as defined, there are two modbus addresses to represent one float value.   When I try to view the data in OPC client, the data shows that it is unknown and has bad quality data when I try to add both addresses. When I add just one of them, the value just stays 0 like L1,L2,L3 current in the picture below.    The device configuration is:    The data for the integer comes through correctly but with an update count of only 1 for all of them. What could the issue be here for data collection for this power monitor through kepware?    Thanks  

As a system integrator, I have no idea how many Kepware licenses I've sold to clients over the past 20+ years. Two weeks ago, I was able to log into MyKepware account, open a support ticket, browse the knowledgebase, download software. Now, I can't do anything. Hoping that somebody in eSupport sees this. It says: Access Denied - Insufficient Privileges You are currently setup with a Basic PTC.com Account that does not provide access to this area of eSupport. This means that you may have an active PTC Global Support agreement however you have not yet Upgraded your Account to reflect your Support entitlements. I have a problem with KEPServerEX and inputs.opcua telegraf.I collect data with kepware use telegraf inputs.opcua. When I use advancetags/tags with good quality, I don't have problem. The problem is when the quality of advancetags/tags changes to bad (for example, driver stop working). My Kepware after a few minutes or seconds (no rule) stop working (My dataLoger no sent to sql and opcua no work). Application can't start(I click on it, it load, but the project never compiles), only reset server or service runtime to fix it. Off course, I don't have any event log about this problem. Where is problem...?I test with: kepware version 6.9/6.13Telegraf version 1.24/1.25/1.26  

Hello, is there a way to disable the certificate verification on startup for Kepserver 6.8 so that I will not get error message like this "The UA Server certificate is expired. Please use the OPC UA Configuration Manager to reissue ... "    

Hi, I am currently configuring some Advanced Tags in Kepware and I would like to round up some of the values that come up from the machines. For example, if it is 35.5 , round it up to 36 and ranging from 35.1 to 35.4, round it up to 35. Is there a way to do it? What we are looking for is a function or formula to round up a number with standard procedure.When it is 35.5,35.6,35.7,35.8,35.9, round it up to 36.When it is 35.1,35.2,35.3,35.4 , round it to 35.

Hello community,     The Data Logger poped out a warning window showing "unable to retrieve column information" when I was setting up the column mapping for a tag. My ODBC data source (32bit) had been configured and tested successfully, so as the target table in the database.  I tried reinitializing the enviorment and reconfiguring the data source but did not make any progress. The snapshots are attached below. Any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.     Thanks again for your attention.      

I tried to install kepware edge on an EC2 instance. But the error message shows 'command not found'. I tried multiple variations of the command by just using the filename, or the file name with location, but the error persists. The command for getting the CLI which is this command+ '--help' also shows the same error.   Are there some other steps to install Kepware Edge on an EC2 instance (I have already installed default-jdk and lsb)?

I am trying to connect Csense with kepware (6.4 version) with the block "OPC Classic Client source" I have made the configurations both from GE and kepware as is, enable port 135, DCOM settings, but I still do not connect them, for the moment I just want to show both a graph in real time in conjunction with its historical. I am getting all the data from a siemens 1500 plc. If someone has done something similar I hope you can support me. I remain attentive to your comments. I attach images.

OPC Software: KEPserverEX (Kepware OPC server software) Third party software: VB6.0 (Visual Basic 6.0) (OPC Client)   There is a channel, device and tag items are available in Kepware OPC server and would like to read value of OPC tags into VB6.0 software using OPC DA or any other easy method. I would like to read/write value of OPC tag from VB6.0 software. Could you please help me providing the source code and supported files so that I can assemble in my computer without any issue. We are working on a scenario where we need to provide one set of two redundant OPC UA Servers that act as a proxy between our customer's system and multiple individual sets of redundant OPC UA servers.Because I do not have experience with connections to redundant OPC servers and OPC UA itself, I am not sure if this is at all possible and which packages I need for this. I tried contacting local system integrators as well as PTC itself, but I'm not getting any response. My hopes are therefore on this community! Any advise is much appreciated.Secondly there is a note from the customer that mentions functionality that is easy to understand and makes sense in a way, but it not mentioned anywhere in documentation: Buffering shall be turned on for the proxy OPC Servers to ensure that data collection continues when connection with the customer is lost. All buffered data will be transferred when the connection is restored. Check and confirm buffering duration. Is this at all possible
