Kepware

Dear Community!   we have S7-PLC here connected to a KepServer transfering the data to ThingWorx. All the data connection, management and so on is working great but still an issue with Timestamp-Tags of type Date.  OPC-UA and I think also the KepServer define UTC as std. Timezone for all Timestamp data, they do not attach timezone information to the timestamp. So when Thingworx recieves the data from KepServer it takes the data as UTC and stores it to the bound properties. But our S7-PLCs clock is running at local time, not UTC. So all timestamps recieved by ThingWorx are based on the wrong timezone. I looked around if there is any possibility to "shift" or adjust this inside Kepware.   Our current only possible workaround seems to be: - Define two Date Properties for the Thing, one bound to the Kepserver Tag and a subscription to calculate the shift and write the correct value to the second one.   Any other ideas??    

Hello,   I have a problem when I try to connect Fanuc 30i-A PMC with Industrial Connectivity. The failure is the next:     I selected the appropiate channel and device, I downloaded Fanuc focas library I and II and I installed on Windows System32 folder, but the problem continue. Created a connection from Kepware to a 3rd party OPC server, and connection is normally running. Every evening the connection goes down, and Kepware returns the error: 'Channel Failed to connect | Status Description='Could not establish a network connection to remote server' Status Code=0x80AC0000' In the morning Kepware returns the error : ‘Socket error occurred connecting. | Error = 10061’ Details=’Impossibile stabilire la connessione. Rifiuto persistente del computer di destinazione’. --> Not possible to establish the connection, Destination computer deny And then, for each Tag, the following error: … Add item failed on device. | Tag address ….. Status description = ‘The node id refers to a node that does not exist in the server address space’ Status code = 0x80340000 In the Manufacturing Apps the device is in error and data are not good. Hello Developers, We are facing some problems trying to connect the Siemens power monitoring device "PAC3200" with KEPserverEX 6.5, using the Modbus TCP/IP protocol, the basic configuration are done using its manuals (attached) but we still have a Bad Quality in the tags. This is basic configuration for the device:   Device Configuration For the tag: Tag Configuration Just a tag example from the PAC manual:PAC3200 Variable This is a variable that we can use the function code 0x03 and 0x04 (page 40). I tried to use the address 400001, 30001, 300001, disable the zero-based-addressing, modbus-byte-order and nothing works.  Note: I can ping the device with no issues.   Kind Regards.        

I am new to Kepware, I want to configure IoT Gateway to send all the data to external REST end point listening on Splunk to collect the data. However i have configured IoT gateway, hence i think i am missing some steps here,please help me with following queries,   Does IoT Gateway requires additional license ? How do we validate data started sending from IoTGateway? I have received the following in log, does it mean that its connected and sending data ? Hello,   I am a starter with this software and trying to connect KepWare and Thingworx. We followed the manual but caný get connected. We get the following error-message:   "Error ThingWorx Native Interface  Connection to ThingWorx failed. | Platform localhost:443/Thingworx/WS, error: could not initialize a secure socket connection."   See picture   Is there anyone who can help us with this?

Running state has been configured depending from the property ‘State’ property read from Kepware, State=3 means Running. The property value is correct, and the asset is in Running status but the status week table is not correct. It shows ‘Not Configured’. (see attachment) Any idea? Many thanks! Martina      

Hi, I am using ThingWorx 8.2. I wanted to change the data type of the Kepware Thing in which I have binded the property.  I was able to change it when I was using 8.0Version but once I upgraded to 8.2 I am not able to change the data type of the tag in ThingWorx. Hello All,   I have a set of data coming from industrial gateway to ThingWorx using Manufacturing Apps Suite and we are successfully polling machine data.  We are using kepware where machine data is pushed initially.    We have a tag called Diameter. The data type of the tag on Kepware side is Float type. On the ThingWorx side, the tag is bound to a thing property of data type Number.   The issue that I am facing is that, For example at Kepware we can see the value of the Diameter tag as 1.6. But when we receive this data in the ThingWorx property, the value is 1.600000023841858.   I would like to understand the reason behind this behavior and also how I can fix this issue and get correct values.   Appreciate all help.   Thanks & Regards, Madhumita

Hello,   I have 2 buttons in my mashup, "START" and "STOP" buttons. With these buttons I would like start and stop the data entry from Industrial Connectivity. Is it possible? If not, How can I program a simulate data in my thing "Temperature"? And with these buttons start and stop this simulation?   I am trying with one button and  display bind through GetPropertyValues and the click event is working but I don´t know if I have to program a service, event, subscription...   Thank you in advance BR,   Luis

Hi, I am unable to connect thingworx and kepware. I completed the configuration properly but it is showing following error: Connection to ThingWorx failed. | Platform = localhost:8088/Thingworx/WS, error = could not initialize a secure socket connection.   When i enabled the logging, i found below error: unable to add binding for pre-existing Gateway Thing because existing Thing Template does not derive or match [existing: PTC.Factory.KepServerThingTemplate, provided: IndustrialGateway].   Kindly resolve.

I'm instantiating ThingWorx Industrial Connectivity and it returns the "Hardware Key" and the "Examples and Documentation" with an X which in my understanding means that they are not existing. What would these components be? How do I make the correction?

Dear Community,   my Thingworx installation is connected to a KepWare instance. When having a major impact on my connected Things the connection to KepWare is lost. So far this happens after Tomcat restart when modifying the ThingTemplate Then the IndustrialThing property is still set but the isConnected Flag is false. And this is OK from my point of view, no complains here. I figured out I can easily run a Service to reset the IndustrialThing for all supposedly connected Things, it will automatically establish the connection to KepWare. But at the moment I need to call this Service manually, i. e. my Things will have no connection until someone (me) takes notice.   Is there a kind of "AutoStart" similar to Windows? A set of Triggers/Services or a dedicated Thing that fires after a reboot? Even if there is another solution for my particular problem, I have similar situations (e. g. resetting configuration) and could figure many more where this feature might be helpful. &nbs

Hi,   After connecting KEPServerEX 6 to ThingWorx (isConnected property is true) I want to import tags from devices running in Kepware to properties. Although I the the error of "Unable to execute service BrowseGroups on name of industrial thing" as seen in the picture below. What can be the root cause of this? I get the same error when I try the manage remote bindings on the deviceThing. Thank you in advance

  Hello,   I am looking to send data from ESP8266 to Kepware [ OPC UA server].   Physical layout: Have an ESP8266 (say 192.168.1.100) with a DHT-11 temperature sensor connected. I can program ESP8266 with Arduino IDE environment. In the same network, I have a Server (say 192.168.1.110), with Kepware KepServer  on it. There is no physical wiring from ESP8266 to the Server.   IN this case, can someone point to some documentation on how to send the Temp values to Kepserver. I am aware of setting a channel on Kepware, creating tag etc. But need some guidance on how to program the ESP8266, and the workflow figured out.   Any documentation or hints would be great. NOTE: I am NOT looking to send data to ThingWorx DIRECTLY from ESP8266 over MQTT or REST.   Regards,
