Mathcad

Dear experts,I have a question about curve fitting by using Mathcad.I have a formula call Steinmetz's equation. if I have a data like below figure.Based on the Steinmetz's equation, I want to solve the "a" ,"b" and "k" from each frequency.how do I use Mathcad to do the curve fitting.Could you please give me some example.       

Mathcad 15 has tools to align text or math equations horizontal in a straight line or vertical up or down.  See attached.  Is there a like set of tools in Prime 8.0?   

I'm having a hard time setting up the function to solve. Any help would be appreciated. I've attached a file of what I'm working on. I'm using MathCAD Prime 8.  

I am trying to solve a two point boundary value problem. Instead of three initial conditions for the problem, I am giving the value at the end of the solution interval. Can I use odesolve? My initial attempt (below and in attached worksheet) was not successful. If not what else? I have not solved this type of problem before. I know "shooting methods" are one possible approach, but I do not know how to set this up in MC. Any help would be appreciated. FYI I am using MC14, but saved the sheet as MC 11.  Thanks.  

In Mathcad Prime 8.0 the X and Y axis are reversed to what I normally see.  Y is usually up and down.  X is usually left to right.  Is there a way to reverse the Axis definitions?  

I am unable to get the evaluation of Derivative in attached worksheet.  How do I get it evaluated? 

Mathcad 15 would give me an indication that I was reusing a variable.  Prime 8.0 does not give any indication that the variable is used again.  Is there a setting to allow this feature?  See attached.  

Hello,From what I can see, the number of plotted points that can be displayed by the plot is limited at about 1.999998*10^6 points.                               The idea is that I want to extract from this matrix:   test(0) and test (1) from 5000001 - 2000000 = x and then plot the values of test(0) and test(1) from 3000001 to 5000001, and not how it is now happening that the plot is taking the first 2000000 values for test(0) and test(1) from 0 to 2000000 and above these values the plot fails.  Also the starting range for i in the for loop I want to remain at 0:

Hello. I am having troubles with the outputs when the range variable "n" is used (file attached).The range variable is defined from 2 to 6 with the step of 1. So there are 5 elements in 5x1 matrix.But at some point during the calculation I get more than 5 outputs (parameters L_e, A_e, X_e, I_e and Pg.What did I do wrong in my spreadsheet? I can utilize a hidden area, populate with text and math, and open and close that area.  Is there a way to work with the properties of the line that is shown once the hidden area is collapsed?

Hi all, I have an Excel file with thousand of cases. The inputs of each case are sent to Mathcad through its API, and the results are sent back to the Excel file. This process is repeated sequentially, solving each case one-by-one. As you can imagine, it takes several hours to finish all cases. I wonder if there is an option to use multithreading/parallel programming to solve several cases simultaneously and speed up this process. Also, is there an API command that returns TRUE or FALSE if Mathcad is busy calculating? At the moment I am waiting a fixed amount of time (15 seconds) between cases. Maybe I can ask each second if Mathcad is calculating until it is not and then extract the output values. Thanks!Regards,     

I'm getting a message, "these units are not compatible".        

I recently had my computer refurbished and am goin g through reloading my software. Mathcad 14 is not cooperating. I reinstalled, provided the code that came with the CD and uninstalled the license from the previous computer and redownloaded the new license file. The new license file has the correct HOST ID, but mathcad tells me that it isn't correct and redirects me to select a new file. ? COuld it be that the license fiel doesn't include Mathcad? can't understand why? Pleas

This month’s challenge is based on civil engineering:     Images created with Creo Parametric, Advanced Framework Extension, and Creo Simulation Live.   Scenario: You have a standard 300mm steel I-beam with a length of 12 meters. It is simply supported at one end and at 8 meters from that end. There is a load of 5000 Newtons in the middle and 10000 Newtons at the unsupported end. Calculate the cross-sectional area of the I-beam. Calculate the cross-sectional moment of inertia about the midpoint of the beam. (You may choose to ignore the contribution of the fillets. If you want the additional challenge, you may include them.) Use the Chart Component to display shear and bending moment diagrams. Mathcad Prime 9 Hello Mathcad experts, I want to create a spill area as a function of time for transient evaporation calculations.  I currently use a formula developed by Dow Chemicals from the late 70's to calculate in the radius of a spill for a given time with an assumed rate and volume.  This formula is iterative.  See Yellow highlighted for manual manipulation.  I am currently manually changing the time intervals and entering the resulting radius and time into a matrix and then curve fitting to make an area function.  Once the volume has been spilled, I assume the area no longer grows.  This seems possible to automate with programming.  I'm a novice programmer and have been working diligently without much success.  I mostly am having trouble with the iterative formula. See attached Prime 9 excerpt of my calculations. Help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Colin  

Hi, We are trying to create viewables from our MathCAD files and to save them to Windchill, where other users (who don't have MathCAD installed) can check the files and optionally comment on them. From the documentation we can find that it should work as follows:Create MathCAD and checkin to WindchillClient side viewable is automatically created (Mathcad Checkin) by setting "Models and Viewables" in wgmclient.iniHowever, the viewable is saved as Viewable.PVZ and included as attachment to the MathCAD sheet. Attachment can only be downloaded and not opened.Also the PVZ file can not be opened using Creo View and thus not be annotated and saved back to Windchill.Below the error message when opening the downloaded PVZ. This is because the PVZ only holds a pdf and no structure.Is there a configuration step that we're missing or does it work as designed? how can I obtain total value or to perform multiplication within the table?

Hello, My colleague is using Mathcad Prime 7. He was trying to convert a Mathcad 15 file using the convertor. For few files, he is getting the conversion status as Failed. When we check the log, we can see the below error message. Hello, I read an excel file into MathCAD and created a matrix and was able to plot the figure. The data is current through a switch. I want to delete specific regions of the graph, namely some spikes (see attached file).  Is there a way to do this?  Thanks
