Hi Mathcaders,I am alittle bit confused on how to use lookup on mathcad prime 8. problem statement:I have a table of containing Steel section name and elastic section modulus as given below: In my work, I have to calculate an elastic section modulus and match with values in the table and choose the profile with the nearest upper value.  My trials:1. I used the following expression: It only compares the first digit. The answer is always AZ12 until I increasesd the calculated value to more than 2000.  2. I used the following expression ( I got it from the internet)The answer is the same as before.  Any help please?

I need to increase solve speed for a large worksheet.  I click the multithreading button.  First, it is not clear how to detoggle the pick.  Second, the CPU time went up.  Under what conditions does this option work.  Or is this just a vaporware feature of P8? thank you

I have generated three plots for different z or distance now i would like to compare the width of axial maximum and the width of central maximum is the value r from 0 to the point where the cure achieves zero.  I want to normalies and assume the value achive r=0 and i want to divide all values of I of I(r=0) how its possible to do this in mathcad please help!   

We are trying to convert MathCAD programs to MathCAD Prime 9. After the conversion the resultant graphics are not display the grid axis that the users were getting in MathCAD 15. Is this a display setting or an issue with MathCAD prime?  

I am trying to install a free trial of mathcad to run a calculation that was provided to me. when I open the "mathcad prime installation assistant" I get to the third step - application selection - and there is nothing in the window to chose from.

We are trying to get our MathCAD users to use MathCAD Prime 8 instead of MathCAD 15. When they go to open a 15 file in Prime 8, it is asking for a 15 license. We have removed all 15 licenses to force them to upgrade. Why does MathCAD Prime 8 require a MathCAd 15 license to open and convert a file? This will be a major draw back in getting the users to upgrade.

Hello.Our company had a PC that acted as a license host. Recently this PC has crashed.  We raised a virtual server in order to transfer the existing licenses to it, but the error occurs: "Upgradable products not available or already used on provided Product Code". And it is not possible to untie licenses through your personal account, because "Complience Hold".  Tell me, please, are there any other options to restore licenses?We have MathCad Prime 3.1

Hi,I'm trying to understand how the IFFT works.The most difficult thing to be understood by me is the reason why, having 2049 complex samples (p0) I get as a result (4096) real numbers.The complex samples are not generated by me, are the result of an algorithm written by others.So I try to understand if there is something special in those samples.I tried to compare the result with what I get with Wolfram Mathematica (sorry about that):InverseFourier[p0, FourierParameters -> {1, -1}];and I get (2049) complex numbers. To get something similar in shape I need to take the real part of those numbers.Beside that the result of the IFFT is 2048 (magic number!) larger than the result of the InverseFourier.Can anyone explain to me the reason of those "mysteries"?Thanks

I just upgraded to the full Edition to MathCAD Prime 9.0 from MathCAD express (MyCommerce Order Number: 860697573 ). I received a license file and I successfully upgraded my MathCAD Express to the full edition on my work computer.Does my single user license for the full edition entitle me to a HOme use license as well?Thanks,Theodore F. We add another loop, with an additional 10V voltage source and a 140 Ohm resistor. Calculate the current in the motor and the three resistors. Scenario 4. We add another loop, with an additional 12V voltage source and a 160 Ohm resistor. Calculate the current in the motor and the four resistors. Note that these situations cannot be reduced to a combination of series or parallel resistors. There is a principle called Superposition you can apply instead. I'm trying to figure out how to create a math variable name that includes both subscript and superscript characters like below:  The subscript is no problem, how do I get the superscript portion? Not just in a way that will let me display this text, but will allow me to use this exact variable later for calculations.

Hi! Please, help me before I lose my mind finally. I have this simple while loop which is working just fine most of the cases but not now. I understand that the problem is with indexes but I just cannot see the solution. Please find the example file attached. So what I'm trying to do is to compare the arrays xf and hs. Please see also the attached picture. I would want to get points compared and sorted like in the picture. From smallest to largest. English is not my native so I thought the picture would be more than thousand words. Feel free also to suggest more simple way to do this if you like. Bear in mind that the dimensions and number of "i" usually changes with different cases I have. But one thing doesn't change and it's the number of equally divided spaces = 8. Thanks a lot for your advice in advance! -Harri

Hi! I have a very bizarre error that I just can't solve. See the following:This gives me the "units are not compatible error" if I use t_uZkplus.max. If I put the solution for t_uZkplus.max manually in the lower line it works just fine:I really don't understand what is going on here. Does anybody have an idea?
