Hi guys, I would be grateful for your little help. Matrix consisting of number of nested matrices cannot be saved to a file. (System Error: Not supported type). Please find my test files attached. Thank you - Pawel
Can you solve it with Mathcad?
Does anyone have a clue as to the future of Mathcad? Will there be a Prime 6? I've been a user since 2.0 and have purchased many versions for work and personal use, but between the new license policy and the lack of progress since 15, I'm about to give up. Unfortunately, version 14 was the last I purchased for personal use. I'd pay the $600 to get 15 if the license was perpetual. I wish PTC would retain the rights to integrate the Mathcad software with their other products and sell off the rights to develop the stand alone program to another company. What a shame.
I am the company admin for the PTC MathCAD Prime 5.0 network license seats. I want to know how to setup home use licenses for some key staff that would actually benefit from home use. So far, the only instructions I've found belong to MathCAD Prime 1.0, however in MathCAD Prime 5.0, the licensing methods are very different. I can see the Home Use license lines in my licensing report, but can not find out how to dish them out. Please help. Thank you, jvj
I have Mathcad14 (32-bit) at installed on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine at work and Mathcad periodically stops working. A pop-up window states: "Mathcad Application has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program." This usually happens after IT pushes 'Windows Updates' on my machine, but not all the time. I tried running the Mathcad licensing program MCLicense.exe and it complains about not being able to write licensing information to the registry, for which I have no access rights being a work computer. Having IT run this (with full rights) does not solve the problem either soit would appear that registry rights is not the root cause. Seems to be something amiss with the .Net framework. The standard way to fix this is to raise an IT service request to removes and re-install MathCad14. This takes about 30 minutes. Has anyone else had this issue? What would be a quicker way to resolve it?
Hello everyone, Would really appreciate your help in an issue that I'm facing (in Mathcad 15) I'm trying to fit two curves (parabolas) between two points (could be more later) and certain conditions (slope = 0 at so-so point). The given/find equation seems to work fine, but I am not able to loop through it.The mathcad file is attached. Please allow me to quickly explain what I intend to do1) I'm defining two parabola as y(x) = Ax^2 + Bx + C and y(x) = Dx^2 + Ex + F 2) Parabola 1 passes through point (x0,y0), with slope = 03) Parabola 2 passes through point (x1,y1) with slope = 04) They must meet at some point in between (XM,ZM) with the same slopes Lastly I find the unknown variables (A,B,C,XM,ZM,D,E,F) and store them in a 8x1 matrix. But if I need to loop through n points, then I would like to use the same given/find in a loop and store all the calculated uknowns (A,B,C,XM,ZM,D,E,F) in an 8xn matrix. Here I get the error "this variable is undefined" and I have absolut
Hello, I am trying to generate a vector based on certain conditions but I face with a problem that says as" This range should be defined in sequential values". In my understanding, I think I have done that but I do not know why it is showing the error. Please help me with it. My version is prime 4.0 Thanks, Faisal
Hello, I am trying to simulate result in arrays but it is giving me an error that value must be a vector. I have tried to search my worksheet but am unable to identify the problem. Please help me with this. My version is prime 4.0 Thanks, Faisal
Hello, I am trying to generate roots using Mathcad but I guess I am unable to define the index properly. Please help me as what can I do to solve. My version is Prime 5.0 Thanks, Faisal
Hello everyone! I'm new here and also new to MathCad. I have an assignment that requires plotting. I have worked on this for hours but I don't seem to get the plots to come out the way they should. Can somebody please be so kind and let me know what is the issue? This is a very elementary assignment, so anyone who is not a novice should be able to spot the issue. many thanks in advance!
Hello everyone, I stucked with MathCAD 15. I want to import data from XLS file (geographical coordinates), convert it to some map projection coordinates and finally display on XYplot. I created a function that should create an array for display but there is an error 'This value must be a vector'. This is my first step with MathCAD so an answer could be trivial. Nevertheless, please help me so I could go further. Thank you - Pawel. PS. I attach MCAD file and input file.
How do I create a plot that looks like "steps", based on a table like shown in attached table and graph?
Hi everyone. I'm very new to MathCAD, using Prime 4.0. I was able to figure out solving 2 simultaneous equations using Solve blocks, and now I'd like to take that one step further so I could solve for multiple pairs of input values. That is, I already have a solve block that finds correct values w/ guess values x1 & y1, and would like one that will solve for x1 & y1, x2 & y2, x3 & y3... I'm guessing this would require some sort of matrix magic, but I'm not really sure. Obviously, I could just copy & paste the solve block for each new pair of inputs, but I have to believe there's a more elegant solution. Can anyone provide some advice?
Hello why is it that the find function doesn't work for me here?! please give guidance!
Hello, I'm trying to take the first and second derivative of my data set (frequency vs temperature). I've used the standard method to define a function via cspline- interpolation and take the derivatives. However, from the attached worksheet, it is seen that the plot of the derivatives have peculiar behavior and I'm afraid the result may not be reliable. Could anyone make a suggestion on this issue, please? Thank you in advance, Payman

Hello! Is it, in general, possible to separate a complex value into a real and imaginary parts in Mathcad? If it possible, how can we do so? Lets say that I have a complex root "r=0.2+3i". I want to assign the real value of this root as a=0.2 and imaginary as b=3i. Do you have any suggestions? Best regards, Sergey
I'm trying to solve for f in an equation. All the variables in that equation are previously defined. but I can get the find function to work. this is very confusing. Can somebody let me know what is wrong with my work please? thanks !
I have values for position and values for time. But when I try to plot them I get the error "All evaluations resulted either an error or a complex result". Can someone please help? this is very confusing!
Hello, One of my users is facing an autosave issue in Mathcad 15. Every 10 minutes (as the autosave was set) there's an error prompt with the path only and it's not saying what's wrong with it. User got all the permissions in the mentioned folder. I've tried to change the "default worksheet location" in the Tools>Preferences, but i guess it's not where autosave files get saved as the error appeared with the same path as before. I've seen the registry below in another topic, but it's not the path for autosave files. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MathSoft\Mathcad 14\McadFiles]"LocalWorkingDirectory"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Mathsoft\\Mathcad 15\\" What can be the issue? Any ideas how to fix the issue? Or how to change that Autosave directory? [error in the attachment]
Hi Is it possible to overcome this problem wo indexing? Thanks in advanced
Can you show it with Mathcad - the bikeway is parts of catenary!
Just in case that anybody still is interested in Mathcad bugs: This was done in the current release of Mathcad 15. I guess we would see the same bug in Prime. Its likely that the bug will not show up in Mathcad 11 (with Maple as symbolic engine instead of the current old version of muPad).
Welcome! I have problems with my Mathcad 4.0 file, I need really quick help! I saved my project yeasterday and today I saw "The file is not supported". Is it possible to recover any data from that file? I attach that file and log file also.
Hello Community, I am working on a Mathcad Prime 5.0.0 worksheet. My goal is to import data from Excel, and later in my worksheet run data analysis for the found set. I am struggling a bit to emulate the behavior for CSVs where the imported data is limited to non-blank rows and columns (once it finds the empty rows and columns it automatically stops importing). The help indicates a way to command READEXCEL to "stop" on a blank row. The problem is that I cannot get it to work. Maybe the previous emptyfill parameter where you fill blanks with something is preventing the "stop" on blank? I cannot figure out how to make it work, and all of the examples use only the most basic inputs. Any ideas? The screenshot shown below shows that though I try to "stop" on blankrows, it is persisting; I get all 500010 rows even though there are only 180k lines of data. Perhaps the substitute of NaN is the issue? I have also specified "" as the emptyfill and gotten th
