Mathcad

I plan to be on November 18 in Kepler's hometown. I want to offer the Kepler Museum in this city an original wall clock for installation on the building or in the hall.Here is a model of these clock with the solution of differential equations with a test for Kepler's second law. The clock has only a second hand. Somebody can help me make the watch and the minute and hour hands. Or some more interesting ideas!File in Attach. Thanks! Physical Mathematics

Hi All,   I am wondering how to intercept two points and by this I mean I want to know the x, y ordinates when two plots cross. I know how to do this using a solve block with for example two polyfits or similar. However, if I am dealing with very simple lines like a straight lines which rely only on simple x, y ordinates as in the attached, What is the best approach to this?   Thanks,   Andy.

Hi! I'm new to solving PDE in Mathcad but I need to solve heat transfer equation in the form as specified in the file. I thought that should be easy to use built-in function Pdesolve, but I guess I was wrong, cause I keep gettin some error messages.  Anh elp will be appreciated. (I guess the problem is with he boundary condition, but maybe there are more)

Hello   I have a problem calculating with units in Mathcad Prime 4.0 When using the solver with units, it often gives the error "This value must be a scalar or a matrix" but it seems to solve just fine, with small modifications. As you can see, it solves the problem, but when i put an equal sign afterwards it gives the error.When i copy the result and pase it (underneath the error) and put an equal sign, the same thing happens, but if i delete the last "min" in the down right corner, and replace it by writing "min" it gives the solution, which here is 56.249 bar.   Why doesn't it solve in the first place? I delete a min and replace it with a min, and that solves it??     I have another questing, that might be related to the first problem. As you can see it doesn't solve with b in degrees celcius, same error "This value must be a scalar or a matrix"  then when i define d as the same 5 deg. celcius, but add an equal sign afterwards it allows to solve, why can't

Hi!I have some trouble getting a equation work properly and wonder if someone here are able to help me?So the problem is that x is a length in meters, but if i add it in to the equation it cant give any solutions to the ones in the green box. Hello everyoneI have a table (Data) that contains a large number of rows in which values of X and Y are found.What I'm trying to do is get the angles between the vectors that form these points and I do not know if it is possible to do this calculation.To better understand what I want, I have attached an example of what I want to do automatically, because in order to get what I want first, I must draw these vectors and measure those angles manually and it takes a long time.In advance thanks for the help

Hello all,   I am trying to create a spreadsheet in Mathcad 4.0  to calculate a station and offset on a horizontal curve (my TGL/center of roadway). The issue I am having is the line that intersects (my centerline of bearings) has a skew to the horizontal curve. All of the definitions of the horizontal curve are known (i.e. radius, delta, the degree of curvature, length, etc.) along with the skew and offset. See the image below for the point consideration on the horizontal curve.       If my centerline was perpendicular to the horizontal curve then the geometry is simple; however, since the line is skewed, I always have two unknowns in my equations. I am wondering if anyone can help with my problem?   Thanks,   Matt

Hi all. I've implemented a model that needs 13 inputs parameters to work.  Now, I am trying to change these 13 input parameters to get simulation results of this model close to experimental results. Actually, I need to play with these 13 parameters so as the simulation results and experimental results fit (a really hard work by hand). I don't know what should I do? I wonder if somebody can give me some advice. Is there any calibration or modification function and/or software that I can use for this purpose? best,      Physical Mathematics

The READEXCEL command on mathcad prime 4.0 will not transfer over my units in excel. How do I make it read my units or how can I add units?

I tried to define the function so that all the units of measure would cancel out and one would produce a dimensionless mass fraction but MathCAD thinks I am doing it incorrectly.   Please explain what I am doing wrong or provide a workaround.   Thanks!      

Hello everybody, I'm trying to change the sum of angles theta 1,2,3 to a new angle phi. The matrix T03 is the solution of A01*A12*A23. I have been using symbolic keywords like substitute, using and other types of solution but nothing works to show the same matrix T03 but with cos(phi) and sin (phi).  There is some way to do it? Any help or advice? Thanks.  

Hello all,   I am currently working on a project that involves heavy use of Mathcad and I am quite the Mathcad newbie. For context, I am trying to find 6 unknown temperatures that are involved in various radiation and convection equations. I feel I am just about done but getting rkfixed to work is causing me such strife. It says " D cannot be used here" when trying to use the rkfixed function and I have made so many changes but none seem to work. Attached is my problem, the rkfixed is at the very bottom. The excel attachment is necessary to run the program as well. Help would be very much appreciated.   Sincerely,   Mathcad Newbie

Hi Folks,   I just got a new computer and need to load V15.  The PTC download page only seems to have a link to a student editon and it requires a product code.  How do I download V15?  I have an academic license on my old laptop and was planning to switch the license to my new one.  Is this possible?   Thanks for your help 🙂   Mark     Since I started this discussion, I should probably update the group.  Here's what I've done so far:   1 - Tried to go online.  No luck.  PTC web site deosn't recognize my product code.   2 - Answered a license management survey that PTC sent me because 'Your feedback is important to us so we know what can improve upon and how we can better service you'.  I got an email from an actual person asking for product and computer information.  I provided information and got an email from someone in Academic Support telling me to click on the Mathcad Support Wizard link.   3 -

Hi   I'm trying to make a sheet for consolidation of soil with probabilistic analyses using montecarlo function.   As attached is a sheet of my initial try, but the formula doesn't compute even if the units are totally dropper off from the matrices.   Can this type of relatively simpel formula be used, or do I first need to make a vector of ech parameter with the random fluctuation? The aim is that in final stage the units could be used in the formula.

Hello   I'm trying to compute the stress under circular load (not only below center line, but below any point).   I have found the attached article about the topic, but I wasn't able to make the computation indicated in formula 3c. The units doesn't seem to match. (http://onlinepubs.trb.org/Onlinepubs/hrr/1963/39/39-004.pdf)   I have found an old mathcad computation sheet about the problem, but the reference to these formulas is unclear.   The attached sheet includes some of my tries to solve this problem based on the attached article. But my feeling is that I'm not even close...   Thank you for your help in advance.

I am using MathCad 15 Academic (professional?) and have a problem that involves several variables, e.g. x ,y, z,  that are implicit functions of a range variable, ϴ = 0, 0.1,…1,  e.g. 0 = f(ϴ,x,y,z).   I want to obtain explicit functions, e.g. x(ϴ, y), so that I can graph  x(ϴ, y) vs ϴ in order to determine if a supremum is at a boundary or interior value of ϴ.             I have several such variables, e.g. y(ϴ,z), which are part of a more complex function, e.g. G(ϴ, x(ϴ, y), y(ϴ,z)), that I want to evaluate in terms of a supremum for ϴ.  Using the “find” function in MathCad I have successfully obtained values of x, y, and G, for each of the values of ϴ and manually inserted these into a vector, e.g. x(ϴ, y).  However, I have not created a function as I cannot graph x(ϴ, y) against ϴ.   Evidently, there is something simple which I am not doing (despi

Here's what I'd like to see done in Prime 4.Mathcad convertor:Don't flag minor font substitutions(or allow hiding the red bars).  I don't care that the converter arbitrarily changed my plot from 'sec' to 'sec'.On plots, move the scaling automatically to its new place in Prime.  The converter knows that I want 'm/sec' but won't populate the new scaling box.Provide some automation in Prime after I convert a file so I can select "ignore this warning/editoral" rather than having to manually change every instance.Provide Post & Pre-Fix operator functions  (/dB as an example everyone cites)Provide subscript & and superscript formatting in text regions so that the converter doesn't leave me the job of looking for the substitutions.Bring back the ability to convert from within Prime rather than having to do it externally.Prime functionalityBring back the ability to call Matlab functions from Mathcad.  That's right, I don't want to spend my days writing functions in
